- Welcome to Steam Sequence, a series where I attempt to play and review as many Steam games in alphabetical order as possible to sort the Trash from the Treasure.
This means that I'm playing through all the terrible games so that you don't have to.
Please enjoy my suffering.

In case you're wondering, Steam organizes games starting with punctuation first, then numbers, and then the actual alphabet. It may be some time before I reach the letter "A" on my journey!

someone just sent me this and wow ❤❤❤ thanks so much for playing and for the beautiful and really in depth review! really meant a lot to be approached openly and candidly like that, made my day/week/month/year haha
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I hope I did justice to the game!
Thank you for making a lovely game, and for making my long journey one worthwhile. Discovering and showcasing games like this gives me the motivation and energy to press on!
It's amazing how divisive this game seems to be. Comments are either "This looks exactly like what I want" or "I don't think I'd enjoy this"
It's what games like this always do. As I mentioned in my other comment, there are people on this platform really into these, and comments under videos about this games do this without a fail.
With enough time and exposure opinions will become even more polarized, because people who feel like this games are mid and overhyped, will see all the praise, and try to balance it by saying it is the worst thing to happen to mankind
On the other side, people who think these are somewhat neat, will see people dissatisfied with gameplay and try to balance it all a little by praising the game beyond anything reasonable...
So yeah, be on the lookout for this happening lol
The piano music you asked about was gymnopédie no. 1 by Erik Satie
Sort of feels like what if Snowflake Tattoo author's idea of artistism wasn't some pure ass. Looks like a decent buy for me.
it just does what that one dev does but right
it feels unreal and dreamy while not being a ocular war crime
its mystically psychedelic, not painfully pschedelic
It's not for everyone. Or for every moment either.
I like to know that there are different games out there and not just games the way I like them. I enjoy playing the same games over and over, but who knows when I'll suddenly want somthing different or some other game catches my attention. I like that the possibilities exist.
0N, 0W, are the coordinates of "null island." It's a place in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa that photos and videos where the geolocation gets corrupted or missing are tagged as making it technically the most photographed and visited place in the world! Various artists have made a real null island at the spot because tech glitches are fun.
Looks like something jacob Geller would talk about in a b plot in a video about potatos
The name of the song on the piano is gymnopedie if I am remembering/hearing correctly.
Yup, by Erik Satie
Thank you! I have been searching for this for literally years
Specifically Gymnopedie number 1, he wrote a few but that was by far the most famous.
Those notes sounded like Gymnopedie #3 to me.
ua-cam.com/video/eMnxjdGTK4w/v-deo.html
The piano piece that's playing is called Gymnopedie by Erik Satie. Very famous piece, definitely suits the vibe.
It's very melancholy!
(small addition to this comment - Satie has 3 Gymnopedies; the famous one is the first! Really fun piece, the oscillating I - IV that never really properly resolves makes for a very chill background-y sort of feel, which is part of why it's been popping up so much)
I love this kind of bizarre 'stream of consciousness' piece. It's barely a 'game' but it's still super fascinating and interesting while it lasts.
This is one of my favourite games of all time and I am so happy we reached it
I can see why you love it! You need to approach it with a different mentality than other games, though. It's not a game to "beat", rather, it's a game to "enjoy"
thanks for sending me the link Xonirix this was a blast to see 🫶
Dang, what a way to end off the 0s. Also, I love how your narration, animations, and videography are getting a lot more developed. Onwards to the 1s!
Thanks for the kind words! Tai and I are always trying to polish and refine the content. Releasing something every week is challenging, but I think we're doing well!
I sorta feel like this is what YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY- should have been. We'll get to that one in a few thousand years.
Or we could just hold out until L
this game is more creative than my dreams
accurate
What a weird experience, even just watching this video.
It's an acid trip... but a chill acid trip. We are vibing so hard right now.
This is an LSD Dream Emulator-like, right?
Basically. But that's not a bad thing.
@@LukieLuke5 Definitely not, it looks pretty good actually
It's a whole sub-genre!
The piano music is: Erik Satie - Gymnopédie No.1
This might be wrong, but I believe the composer wrote it to play at his own funeral.
Man I love your intros, you always make the games sound so amazing weather or not they are. This comment isn't really just about this game specifically, in fact I just started this video. I just wanted to say I love your intros
I wonder if the the title is also in leetspeak and so should be read as either "zero now" or "oh now".
ooh i haven't looked at it that way, that could be a thing
This game definitely gives me the feeling of playing Yume Nikki all over again
what's yume nikki?
nvm i googled it
@@taisato2091
@@taisato2091 It's another dream exploration game where you go through doors to explore new worlds. It was made using the game engine RPG Maker, and just like this game, there isn't much in the way to do other than walk around and appreciate the unpredicably strange sights you'll see. Though Yume Nikki does have different outfits you can find that can have certain interactions with objects in the worlds, and it hides a few secrets that way.
its got that LSD level design (I'm talking about the game not the drug)
Graeldon: "I have seen things that no mortal should ever have seen"
Surely we already knew that from other entries in the series?
True, but you also never know which video will be someone's first
Damn one of the first of these ones that I really want to play now
This certainly looked like it was a kaleidoscope of an adventure.
Steam Games in alphabetical order is such a strange, extreme idea, i think ill subscribe just to observe where this goes
The videos are also good, I will probably enjoy my time here
Welcome! We're definitely discovering some interesting stuff!
seems like a passive and random version of revenge of the sunfish
This game seems amazing! I'll certainly play it! Thank you Graeldon for showing us this creative game/interactive experience and for the great video!
I tried the game before watching your review. I think you've expressed very well the issue I have with the "progression" in this game. If it was easier to exit a world to explore another one, it would be less of an headache to explore. I liked the visuals and the architecture, but I sometimes felt lost in a bad way, because I wanted to see other things. I even felt stuck sometimes. While I'm open to abstract video games experiences, this issue badly affected the journey for me. That and the fact that some visuals were too busy for my eyes (And I'm usually pretty tolerant in this regard). I had to stop not because I was bored from exploring, but because my eyes starting to hurt
(Speaking of exploration/contemplative game, I played Abzû last week, because I wanted to experience this game before watching the run showcased at Frost Fatales 2024. It's very different from 0°N 0°W of course, but it was amazing! Better than any other games I played last year)
The game seems beautiful and I want to play it, but
I'd like to compliment your skills here: your description of your experience was an amazing display of storytelling. Keep up the good work, I love your channel!
Thanks for the kind words! This one was a lot of fun to write!
This a very esthetic and interesting looking experience. This is the type of thing that I wouldn't purchase for myself but would not be upset if someone gives it to me.
I know exactly what you mean! It's outside of the genres I normally play. so I had to approach this with an open mind, and I'm glad I did!
So...wholesome backrooms?
Your content is incredibly engaging, entertaining, though-provoking, and filled with positivity. I loved this video and a few other videos of yours, I can't wait to see your hard work get some more recognition soon!
Thanks for the kind words! The biggest thing I'm excited about is that more views on the channel will hopefully mean more sales for the good games we find!
I think this game reminds me of Shutter Stroll by Jannik Boysen; less of a "game," but more of an experience. Something intended for you to get lost and take in the scenery. I'll definitely have to check this one out sometime!
I kinda miss being able to truly enjoy those walking sims. Nowadays I just feel like I need to be constantly challenged by the games I'm playing in order to have fun and yeah, they may be satisfying, but I also feel like I'm missing out on something, sometimes. I love it when the games are all artsy and vibey and I really enjoy it when a game has some good, rewarding exploration in it and sure, there are many such games that aren't walking sims, but there's also a crapton of games that are, like this one. Anyway, I like the semicryptic menu screens in this game, even though I'm not really able to decrypt the leetspeak without googling stuff ^.^'
Looks interesting, but UA-cam's compression artifacts ruin some locations.
We did the best we could, but it was unavoidable in places sadly.
All the more reason to give the game a chance and explore it!
Even though the game isn't for me, I can't help but bask in the imagination of the creator(s). It seems like an amazing journey from the moment you step in, the doors, and the different landscapes. It must have been wonderfully fun to experiment coding this experience.
I love the ambience it gives off
I remember checking this game out after a friend suggested it. The vibes are neat, but I found some of the visuals overwhelming.
It definitely attacks the senses a bit
The intro is giving me some serious flashbacks to the AVGN Episode of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".
Specifically the scene where they played the PS1 game by the name "LSD"
This is just LSD Dream Emulator 2.
imagine showing this to a caveman
This is...actually really cool. I mean I get why it's not to everyone's taste, but...in small doses, I think we may have found something of a sequel to those 'experience games' like LSD Dream Emulator.
i love this game. I hope for more like these in future
Suprised you didnt mention yume nikki with this. The game seems to have its own cool takes on the genre fof yume nikki fangames which is cool.
Yume Nikki isn't a game I had played or was aware of before. I somehow missed it! I can certainly see why it draws comparisons though
I get the impression that I would like this, but really thinking about it the novelty of it would probably wear off after a few hours.
This seems really cool, a 3D Yume Nikki of sorts
Yeah, this game is EXACTLY my jam.
F*** The Bitrate: The Game
In all honesty this looks amazing but i dont think youtube does it justice cuz the bitrates really low in some parts lol
We tried to compensate for it as much as we could, but it was sadly unavoidable in places
@Graeldon ofc lol, happens to everything! A friend of mine's a UA-camr and UA-cam absolutely crunches and munches the bitrate on practically anything he does. It's a bit absurd, actually.
I'm just surprised it let you post a video as clear as it did, it usually doesn't let people post games like this without making it look like you spilled a gallon of water onto your watercolor painting lol
Neat.
This game strongly reminds me of Yume Nikki (which is a very good thing). Thank you for you work, it's extremely interesting to follow.
Thanks for being a part of the journey!
I can't wait for Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball
I would love to play it NOT alone 😢
the 3d yume nikki we should've gotten
This game looks like what the backrooms game should be like
Guess the game messed so much with your head that you kept adding the "degree" into its title when the storepage has "Zero North Zero West" written there as the full title. :P
The store title is written with the degree symbol in the name, so I included it =)
feels like 3d yume nikki! love it
reminds me of lsd dream emulator and yume nikki
Wow there's only 2 recommended 0 games
Yume Nikki
its debussy.. the music
Personally, I dislike these "LSD Dream Emulator" type of games, where you just wander around and take in the sights, I don't find them engaging most of the time, specially when the enviroments connect seemingly at random like in this game (if I understood that part correctly).
In LSD and Yume Nikki (the one game of this type that I like) there's a sense of progression and connection the more you play them, you start getting deeper into the dream, you see how the areas connect in their own weird "dream logic" and start to interact more with the enviroment the more you learn, something that I think is lacking in this game, if pretty/trippy sights is all it offers, then I'm not interested.
Looks like the dev just went crazy with procedural generation and shmushed them together into a game.
I like the visuals, but I'm not impressed.
Would be cool if the dev added some kind of secret ending and alternate reality closer to LSD dream emulator
isn't this just yume nikki
