    Great video. I bought the PP today and took the Mevo+ to the driving range! Jiiiihaaaa!
    I thought I should also work on my low point, but an average of 10 cm seems fine to me.
    I am looking forward to your next video.

    Great info! I am a pretty educated hacker but learned some stuff still.
    Obviously a million reasons for low point issues but your 3rd point was/is my issue which was verified with boditrak with my instructor. Not getting my weight to my lead leg early enough.
    I saw someone point that JT and Rahm are around 7” in front of ball with low and mid irons, I couldn’t verify that number tho.

    Great videos Scott, helping me get used to the mevo, how crucial is ball position for low point. Do you have to place the ball in exactly the same position or do you have some tolerance? Thanks.

      There is a small room to move it, but i just tell people try to get it in the same spot as a best practice

    Scott, my Mevo+ show extremely high positive numbers as low point values. 8 or even 9 inches for 9i. Is it real or I messed up something with settings and calibrations? When I try to hit fat shots for purpose I can't reach negative values.
    I just start to use this cool gadget and afraid to do something wrong. Thanks a lot for your advices.

      Make sure your distances that you set from the unit are very accurate along with ball placement, otherwise feel free to send me a screenshot and I can check it out.

    Great video Scott. If the distance from the Mevo + to the ball is critical to low point measurement it seems that relying on this measurement when using the unit outdoors would be very difficult. Keeping the distance constant would probably require you to tee the ball up even for wedges in order to avoid the divots from previous shots. Please keep producing content on the Pro Package.

      I tee it up when I want low point outside

      @@scotthogangolf Without having asked Flightscope about Mevo +, I do not think it needs to be 100% correct with the distance to ball. On my X2 you can easily place the ball in different places and still get an accurate measurement. Club path data is measured based on impact point and where the lowest point in the swing is must be measured in relation to the ball (impact point). But it is worth asking Flightscope if this is correctly understood in relation to Mevo +

    • @ronrund
      @ronrund 2 роки тому +3

      Scott I checked with Flightscope support on this and they confirmed that the ball can be placed anywhere within a foot and they unit will accurately record low point. They said that the unit detects impact and from that location it can see and measure where low point occurs relative to impact.

    The towel 2 club heads behind the ball could be a good drill for solid ball first contact

    Hey Scott,
    When setting up distance from the mevo for low point, are you measuring to the bottom of the mevo or the lens, since the unit is on an angle it will change this measurement a little bit, 1/2” or so

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf  2 роки тому

      I measure right from the base of the unit.

  • @dougchristian5957
    @dougchristian5957 2 роки тому

    Being radar based it seems you would have to be
    hitting from the exact measured distance from the unit (and same exact spot) every time in order to have an accurate low point number. Inch forward or back would skew that number. Similar to hitting from the laser spot on a Skytrack. Is that correct?

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf  2 роки тому +1

      FS says you can hit within a bout a 1ft window and get good measurements, in my experience over the years, the more accurate you are with the placement, the better I'd say.

      So this measures in relation to the ball and not a spot directly in front of and say 8 feet from radar?

    Do you feel AoA is better measured in conjunction with low point?

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf  2 роки тому

      They are related, if you're low point is positive the AoA should be negative and vice versa.

    Interesting- my Low Point averaged around 4 in two different sessions on my 7 iron. Can too high mean other issues?

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf  2 роки тому +2

      If you're consistent and hit it well, I wouldn't worry about it too much, I try to not hit the ground too much because of my arthritis, so mine typically isn't super forward. Bobby Clampett did a study years ago that claimed that the farther forward your low point, the lower your handicap would be, I would say that's been debunked but definitely want it forward.

  • @gregmarlow2165

    Good info Scott. Question. What kind of a number on low point would you see if hitting an iron and it was a topped shot?

    • @seanbecker8328
      @seanbecker8328 2 роки тому +1

      Depends on how you topped it but it would most likely be a negative number bc most topped shots are actually hit by the club hitting the ground pretty far behind the ball and bouncing off the ground and up topping the ball so in that case it would be an inch or two behind the ball

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf  2 роки тому

      Sean has it there, typically a negative number, it is possible that you have a positive number but are hammering so down on it that you top it into the ground, but most times it's coming in behind the ball and traveling up over the top of the ball instead of down and through the ball. That's why I was impressed with Spieth's shot at Pebble on 8 this weekend where he didn't top it into the Ocean.
