Nice video, great tips for the range.. I think I need to tweak the ground to T hight setting as overlook that often.. Stunning range backdrop! In my garden I cut out a rubber mat and fixed it to the ground, then put bolts through the holes on the 3rd party Mevo plus stand so they poke about 5mm below the base and then drilled holes in the rubber mat so when I set up I can just place the Mevo plus stand onto the mat so the bolts engage into the holes and it’s in the correct spot each time!
That's a great setup, I think many people forget about setting it up correctly, but when you start looking at specific parameters if you have it setup incorrectly, you'll get inconsistent data.
No problem, it works even better with the latest firmware and looking forward to the fusion tracking update, make sure to use the 10% discount code to save $200 and free chipping. Good luck!
Great video, thanks. What is the difference between the FS Golf app and the FS Mevo golf app? It looks like you are using the FS golf app. I’ve got both on my iPad and have only used the FS golf app…
Thanks this is great stuff, especially with adjusting height. Thanks! I see you're in Italy, we are moving to Spain in a couple weeks, perhaps our paths will cross someday on the tee box. Salud!
Thanks, yes some minor adjustments can really make a huge difference in getting better readings. Good luck in Spain, if you come visit here let me know 👍
Great! well explained thank you for making this very informative video. Look forward to following you especially when the Mevo+ pro package is released.
Its a cheap old tripod I got from eBay, but I wouldn’t recommend it, it falls off with the slightest wind, try the brand manfrotto, it’s solid, I have that to hold my camera and it’s very stable and sturdy
Good info. I see you do very precise setup and alignment when hitting off the deck, but what happens when you want to hit a driver? The tee is not aligned to the spot you marked. Do you have to go through the whole alignment setup when practicing hitting from the tee?
Now with fusion tracking you have a hitting area of about 30cm where you can hit irons, drives and putting, check out my backyard setup with my putting mat to see what I mean 👍
No discussion of roll and tilt of the unit at setup? What about the surface type setting (soft/medium/hard) that has a great effect on the total yards (rollout)?
I normally use the device provided to set the right tilt, 12 degrees for simulation and 18 degrees for FS golf. Yes definitely, I’ve done a video with hard surface and you get about 20-40 yards roll, which is quite true in the winter!
I have the unit 8 feet to the ball and another 8 feet from the net to the ball. Just wonder if this setup is enough for full swings? I have tried to pitch 50 yards but the unit only shoewed 25-30 yards. Is it because the length is not long enough? Thanks
Yes 8 feet is plenty for full swings, if you have issues try the short indoor setup, but I had that distance in the past and it read just fine, especially with the new technology they added. Not sure what you mean by the unit just showing 25-30 yards, it should read all 50 yards.
The only problem with using the video alignment method is that the camera is offsetted from the middle of the radar so I wonder if they account for that or?
I think the reason the camera is placed near the heel of the club is to get better info on the club face from the main radar, but I'm not sure, even Trackman has a camera placed to the side, I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
It's less severe at home with a net and real balls, much more noticable at the range (get a lot of low spin numbers), but with the last update, I get much better spin numbers, it used to be much worse with range balls.
iPads definitely work way better, I had to purchase one because my Samsung tab A was just too slow and kept crashing, not to mention that you get the 5 free course on iPhone or iPad not android 🤷🏻♂️
Hi mate, On my Mevo camera view, I have a vertical line and a red box at the bottom, the red box has a white dot but the white dot is slightly to the right of the vertical line? Should my ball be on the vertical line, or anywhere in the red box or on the white dot? Thanks
With the new update there should be a straight red line with a dot in the middle, yes you can hit anywhere from the red line, if you’re putting, make sure to putt to the right of the dot
I picked up a new Mevo Plus a couple days ago and the irons are close, but woods and driver are not even close to my normal yardages. My swing speed with a wood is about 98 and driver a tad over 100 and my driver and wood yardage is not much further than my 5 iron. I read there were some issues with FS Golf, but not sure what to do at this point. I have tried about everything, but nothing seems to work. I play about 4 times a week on 6200 yards and know my yardages well.
That’s strange, was is outdoors at the driving range or with a net? For me the unit is more accurate indoors using metal stickers. The fusion tracking update should be available before January, that should make the unit more accurate.
@@thebackyardgolfer7010 Indoors. I thought it strange too. I have 7-9 feet behind the ball and 8-10 feet in front. LED lighting, wood structure, etc. My Swing speeds are actually faster in my shop than on course as I usually play more reserved on course. My average 4 wood carry is about 225 and driver is around 235. Irons are spot on. Out of about 150 shots over two days I only had about maybe 6 with wood or driver that went a tad over 200 and 5 iron was about 180-195 consistently. I hit my 7 wood 200+ most days. LOL
@@Luchnia I never had such issue, but I have 19 feet of ball flight, hopefully you’ll resolve it with the new update. Always make sure to use the metal stickers and select short indoor
It’s much better now with the new fusion tracking update, but be careful, it could also be due to dirty grooves, trust me, I tried with a brand new club and spin numbers were perfect. It also depends on the type of iron you’re playing. Good luck 👍
Hi there, I'm very tempted to buy one of these! I have a full-size 3mx3mx3m golf range cage/net in my back garden, but I have wooden sleepers all around the set-up, so there is about a 2 inch wooden lip directly behind my mat! You mention about entering mat depth, but can you also adjust it so it accounts for a 2 inch lip behind the mat, or will it likely not pick up the ball flight at all? :( Cheers Andrew
The maximum height between the mat and device is 3 inches so you’re fine. The unit it’s very accurate particularly indoors and it should get even better with the new fusion technology update. Do you think the Titleist RCT balls will improve the accuracy of the Flight Scope data???
I didn’t know they were supposed to, in my opinion the mevo plus is much more accurate with real ball with a net of at least 16 feet of ball flight.
IS THIS REALLY HIS BACKYARD??
This is actually a golf range, but it was pretty much empty during this period
so line up to the ball first ... then then your target , like a flag ..
Now is much easier with the latest updates, just look at the video on your device and put a drill stick, try a few shots and adjust
