    32:15 “..the guy yanno I’m not a fan of him..” Honestly great how you ended it like that😂☠️ and I can relate to you and everyone who’s bought used dirt bikes, quads, side by sides and snowmobiles, literally anything with a motor that you can have fun on for a few grand just to ride it for a 1/5 of what the owner did and it shits the bed because of poor preventative maintenance and ownership. But that’s why I love this channel I strongly believe you’ve taught everyone one of us subs something actually useful in life, because we can take those neglected machines and turn them into a good learning experience by fixin em up and its amazing when you can broadcast that information to literally everyone who’s on this platform in the world that has the same passion for motorsports. Thanks Mike.

    I really admire your attention to detail and level of craftsmanship while repairing and modding this machine. I would suggest that you don't need to point out what a "hack" this or that was, but simply show what you found without negative commentary and then show your remedy. You would come across much more humble if you did and it would definitely be the "high ground" approach. I don't want to sound like the feel good police or anything like that. lol Your work really does speak for itself though. Keep up the great work with repairs / mods. Thanks for sharing the process!

    I try not to comment on things too much but just like to say your welding job for a hobby welder if that’s what you are looking very good it’s not easy the weld if you don’t do it all the time especially on round surface so kudos to you. As far as your snorkel kit goes bang on. that looks really good and I like your idea of the exhaust I might actually try doing that on my razor. And to address the issue of how you been talking about that fella yeah maybe it’s a little bit much but I see your point and I agree if you don’t know what you’re doing Or don’t have the funds to do it. Or can’t afford to get it fixed be honest with the person don’t screw them over I’ve been the same situation where I bought stuff and it was not what it seem to be I mean there’s certain things you can check over but the motor crank bearings stuff like that. The P.O. is probably watching these videos..... at the same time he's hoping his friends AREN'T! I'd be embarrassed if I did that kind of hack job and was later exposed as BEING THAT HACK. When things are all covered up under the hood and other covers, it's easy to say "...…. hey! look what I got done" and your friends wouldn't have a clue about the hackiness (probably not a real word, but it is now) going on under all those covers. Good to see you explain your issues with the P.O., and put it all into perspective. You do nice work. (gotta stop saying "dude").

    you should turn one facing forward to scoop air in.

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 роки тому

      That's a trick idea but it would conflict with the air flow of the system; air is pulled in with the fins on the clutch from the snorkel up front and the two pipes that I made are for exhaust where the hot air is pushed out.

    it does piss you off though when each problem arises. i’m having a break from bikes at the moment as i just can’t be bothered to fix up someone else’s hack job, just. broke even on the last one which was really really hard work. i’ll take more care if i do another one

    Hey mike great job!!! I have a 2016 1000 turbo and you we’re saying you might have to cut up the back net for your snorkels. Maybe check into the net for the turbo model cause it already has the hole cut out for the intercooler.

    My deal has always been... I dont care if you dont tell me about issues.. but dont lie to me. I recently didnt buy a banshee because the seller tried telling me all the work dont to it was recent. Yet he showed pictures of the paperwork from Mac Daddy racing... it was all Dated July 2015 and it had at least 5 years of ORV stickers on it yet seller said he didnt have many hours on the dune port top end. 5 years ago isnt "recent". At the end of the day these are used machines and they arent going to be showroom condition so I expect there to be issues.

    I question the use of an exhaust wrap on something that can get wet/submerged. Those things absorb water as is, just seems like a problem waiting to happen.

  • @jeffh6971
    @jeffh6971 4 роки тому +2

    Hey boss, i know you were going off the instructions for the AFR kit, but you wont get an accurate reading of both cylinders with it being behind only one of the cylinders. The Wideband needs to be past one of the collectors down stream where its getting exhaust from both cylinders. Just me $.02..

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 роки тому

      Hey Jeff; I appreciate the info bro! I actually read up on this and should have included this in the video; directly from Dobech (but not quoted lol); this system is designed to run off of the readings from one cylinder and my not be as 100% accurate as a two O2 sensor setup but the amount of difference is very small. The reading will be more accurate the closer it is the cylinder as opposed to where the exhaust comes to a "Y" after the cat. This is just from what I gathered and I do appreciate you chiming in! 🤘

  • @CriticalThinker08

    i'm not sure if it would work but i'm curious if one could use some low power yet super high rpm computer fans to increase inflow & outflow of air to that clutch via the snorkel system? great job tho, much better than the hot mess that was in there before

    • @aklegion5747
      @aklegion5747 4 роки тому +1

      CriticalThinker08 I was thinking the same thing. We used to use those on our mod sleds. One over the primary one over the secondary.

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 роки тому +1

      It's a great idea; I know they make inline fans to increase flow; I've read conflicting reviews of their effectiveness though.

    • @aklegion5747
      @aklegion5747 4 роки тому

      Michael Sabo They worked great for us. The one over the primary was the fan that drew in the air and the one over the secondary was the fan that expelled the air. Had them hooked to a toggle switch and we turn them on for doing hard pulls and when we took a break to cool everything off

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 роки тому +1

      For me yes, but like TheExisting 1 said, if I had to pay labor I would have been screwed lol. I have a spreadsheet of all my expenses which totals 1700 in parts at the moment; so for under 8k I'll have a machine that I can consider reliable.
