I think the oldest joke In restaurant indursty is the "remember to look at what you are cutting" while your Senior is looking at you and cutting double your speed
A little bit late here, but I always think about this one line in Troy whenever I hear about that. Something along the lines of “by the time you learn to do it like me, you won’t be taking my orders anymore”
@@DoctorCVC God only knows how many times I watched that movie lol
@@RaytheGrayt is the movie any good...looks kinda interesting but not sure
@@shersockholmes6261 I personally love it. Lots of memorable scenes and quotes. If you're a big time Greek historian and will reference something else you read with this, you might be a lil confused at times. Good script with great acting and a strong cast. It doesn't get tiresome even if it's almost three hours so give it a watch 👍🏽
@@RaytheGrayt oo that's seems intriguing , thx!
Clearly Marco slowed down his speed after the first minute of watching them struggle to keep up. 😂
True.... No other masterchef show has standards at par with Masterchef Australia
@@sohamroy7668 I agree.
Soham Roy you say that but this is currently Masterchef South Africa you are watching, though yes MC Australia is still very entertaining
Gordon Ramsay would not wait like his master
@@jerrycnt ya you can see the difference in speed when it comes to gordon and marco. all the videos on youtube marco is calm and takes a slower pace and gordon is always in speaking fast and doing everything else just as fast as possible.
Now we know where gordon gets his phrase 'let the knife do the work'
He did teach him so ye
@@enterandye5545 who taught whom?
@@munificentdancer1618 marco taught gordon
And the famous "hey big boy", classic Marco.
I mean, that's what a ton of chefs say. It's not patented by Marco.
He definitely made Gordon cry
Marco: I didn't make Gordon Ramsay cry, he made himself cry, that was his choice to cry😢
Carlo Zollinger lmao
With a knorr stock pot!
cry........don't cry...........its your choice!
How much I would pay to see that...
I love how Gordon Ramsey is the physical personification of what Marco's Stare is lol.
Marco's stare is literally the physical personification of Marco's stare
gordon did apprentice under marco lol makes sense
@St Jude i mean gordon only does that for the tv drama and of course he cant just be the silent staring type like marco thats marcos thing and yelling is gordons but he learned the strict ways of the kitchen from good ol marco
@St Jude its gets him views lol but i agree that he can be a little too much sometimes
Gordon Ramsay arrogant attitude..
Big shacc : man's not hot
Marco : pan's not hot
Marco : Knorr stock pot
Skrrrrrrrra chop chop
yayaya
What the heck is this reply
Was thinking the same thing lol
Marco's stare devours your soul straight. He's not even yelling.
Marco the Ghost Rider
The look says it all that's all it needs at times .
“It’s boneless.”
The lamb chose to have a bone still. That was his choice.
The one thing Gordon never learned from Marco was how to command respect without being intimidating or aggressive. I love watching both chefs, but Marco is just on a whole 'nother level
You don’t know how he is in an actual kitchen mate. You can tell that Gordon has a more pleasing personality with homecooks compared to Marco here who’s definitely intimidating all the time. I’m sure both of them are quite aggressive in their kitchens, almost all head chefs of Michelin Star restaurants are. It’s just part of their culture of perfection, it’s not like either of them are complete assholes all throughout their lives.
mark030531 not all the time... 2:08
Nah man i respect both Chefs but Marco was waaaayy more aggressive than Gordon Ramsey back in his day its pretty obvious where Gordon got his aggressiveness in the kitchen Marco just seems nice because he's getting old now
@@whyhe11othere Marco is way above Gordon on aggressive. He is not show much of aggressive action but still intimidated. and actually Gordon is not that harsh, it is only in American show that he is.
I think Gordon can command respect in this way, however, some part of that aggressiveness is played up for TV - especially the American Masterchef and Hell's Kitchen. It's become signature GR. If you watch his other global series, and Masterchef jr, he's almost a different dude. I also think Marco is just as, if not more intimidating than Ramsay.
Marco is the equivalent of “Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire, Harry?” he
asked calmly
While Gordon is the equivalent of “HARRY DID YAH PUT YAH NAME IN DA GOBLET OF FIYAH!?!?”
Cringe
I thought Chef Ramsey's response was more "HARRY...WHERES THE FECKING LAMB SAUCE!"
Genuine 😂
so basically book vs movie
Did anyone here ever read the fanfic "Harry Potter and the Lack of Lamb Sauce"? It is way better than it has any right to be.
Marco is becoming one of my favourite chefs. He’s not only an exceptional chef, but his compassion for the aspiring chefs especially when they are struggling is amazing. What a man ❤️
Dudes been around for ages do some digging .
thebegining100 Ok m9
He is an exceptional chef. You should read more about him if you think otherwise.
@@jonnycolston he should read more about him, but it's his choice.
@@angramainyu2026 his choice to be ignorant, indeed it is, but he's annoying other people with his ignorance
Marco Pierre White might not be as popular as Gordon Ramsay, but he sure is one hell of a Masterchef and a great mentor to younger, less experience chef
Marco white TRAINED Gordon Ramsay. And others. Lots of others.
He was famous even before anyone knew Gordon Ramsay
Deuche.....older generation dude doesn't care about youtube views or likes. Wake up, woke one! Trash.
It's a different era. He was famous in his own era. Those who have loved food for time have known abt Marco before Gordon was even in the kitchen next to him. Can't make a fair comparison. There is a reason he is all over almost ALL of the MC series'
I just knew this guy name couple days ago, and I love his personality and him as a person already. And I’ve known Gordon years yet I have no such thing for him plus I hate him more after I found out what he did to Marco.
"Cooking should be a pleasure, shouldn't be stressful" imagine him running hell's kitchen
You don't have to. He was the original chef on the OG british version before it was ported to the US with Gordon Ramsay
Just look up “Marco Pierre White wheres my kingfish” and you’ll get a pretty solid idea
He's like a pirate captain leading his crew through a storm.
In the 80s his whole restaurant was already Hell's Hell's Kitchen
He would do better
3:23 when you cut onions so fine your splitting atoms lol.
He makes quite a few cuts that don't even cut. I see the method to the madness, but for the 300 times he slices down with the knife, he cuts probably 100 times.
@@Banned4Life
I guess it works since it seems faster than trying to precisely cut chunks
"gotta do it how I'm doing it"
@@Banned4Life That's how I cut garlic, it doesn't cut every single time, but I end up with extremely thin slices only. I like it.
@@schmidth As I said, I get the method to the madness. I've had to make garlic paste manually when working in a kitchen, and my knifework probably looked like I'd gone insane.
That calmness in his voice is quiet intimidating because you know he's giving you all the information to cook his dish.
8:07 he actually helps her by cleaning her board 🙂. Marco is really a masterchef
On the flip side, he keeps helping her throughout the process...while he doesn't help the other girl
@@FreedomFighter2112 could be editing
@@FreedomFighter2112 he's a gentlemen
@@FreedomFighter2112 I think he doesnt respect the challenge actually. From what I can tell of Marco he probably thinks, "so what if they can copy me, they definitely cannot keep up... whats the point? I want to see how they decide to do things" and thats why the emphasis on what decision they would make despite what the challenge is.
Marco makes this more watchable than ever.
I swear Marco sounds like he was taken straight out of Victorian times. Absolutely love this man 🙏🏽
Trained himself to get the accent.
@@thebaneofyourexistence.3377 Too true. Marco's from Yorkshire near Leeds I believe and every now and again his accent sometimes slightly comes out when he's angry although not much.
Marco in Australia, Singapore, Italia and South Africa.
Gordon might be the face of Master Chef...
But Marco IS MasterChef.
That's quite poetic. I like it.
So is Gordon
Don't forget that Marco was the teacher of Gordon .
He was Gordans master.
I would like them both to duel by cooking
Got so much respect for this guy. Listened to his speech that he did at Oxford. Such an impressive guy.
"That's your choice."
- marco's signature line
Edit: Thanks for the likes.
Lorenzo Miguel Pescador can’t believe he pulled it out here
"It was his choice to cry."
Robert Orlando haha that’s what I thought brought me joy when he said that
Absolutely spot on.
Same it reminded me of those knorr stock vids
I love how Marco can just stay silent and it can still mean as much as a monologue. He is hard and tough but he stays classy and respectful. He could've been meaner than that but that was just enough so both chefs paid attention and learned a lesson.
Gzus crhist when marco says "Thats not a bad first attempt" and then smiles... wao if i was that cook i would be on the clouds
Gordon Ramsay: yells at you
Marco pierre white: stares at you

You debone the meat by following the bone so you cut away little to no meat off along with the bone.
It is served boneless.
And the bone guides your knife for cutting the meat.
How the hell does a comment like this get 359 likes?
Are there really that many morons incapable of listening?
And I thought the chefs were struggling 😂
Marco sounds like the dude from the Lego City commercials that says “HEY!”.
He's literally one of my most favorite chefs!! Keeping up with him is darn difficult.. Kudos to both of them ❤
He's actually quite lenient here... Seems pretty easy compared to what he cooked in the Australian version.
I never felt so intimidated as a bystander. Not even the fact that its on a completly different hemisphere. I feel Marcos stares on my back
Same here. Watching this I had to remind myself it happened miles and miles from where I am yet I can't help the cringe.
I'm happy Marco still cooks... I dunno why, but it makes my life better
Marco chopping those onions without even looking, going lightning fast.... I could never.
Perhaps I’m being unfair but based solely on the performance of these two finalists in this challenge I feel that neither would have made the top 12 in Master Chef America, Canada or Australia.
Those 3 countries are much wealthier, therefore the shows have a larger budget. They have more education, resources, professional chefs, etc
They’re not exposed to other lands and culture cuisines cooking

How epic would it be when Gordon and Marco would be the Judges in Masterchefs
Imagine your dish sucked and there are four judges: Joe Bastianich, Alvin Leung, Gordon Ramsay, and Marco Pierre White
Your opponents will be the original Japanese Iron Chefs and the battle is in Kitchen Stadium.

This comment is underrated af 😂
Hes awesome, He cares about then learning. He did well with Gordon. He gives them chances without breaking them down.
@Noel Oommen with Gordon, service is service. That's the biggest lesson Gordon learned.
Marco : cooking should be a pleasure , it shouldn't be stressful.
That kinda helped me to understand the quote from Ratatouille
"Anyone can cook"
Do not try to cook , as if it's an effort , but treat it like something playful , as if you're playing a game,a serious game, that is. Ever wondered why mothers are such great cooks? They cook with love
Also , it's hard to not be stressful when Marco is starting at you 😂😂
I have so much fun cooking when i’m inspired from all these videos. Just put in the earbuds, crank up the volume and dance while cooking 😂
I just watched another cooking show with him, where he went up to a participant
-Feeling stresseed?
-Never, Marco, only when you're coming up to me
Marco is an amazing mentor in real sense
he does a very fast, precise and careful cooking looks easy and let you feel stupid because you have trouble on every step. he is relaxed, works "slow" and talks to you, watches you, walks around while you freak out. he has perfected the art of giving aspiring chefs some humility.
We need Marco back on TV cooking programs today. It would be a Hit .
Marco has such a presence, it's impressive
Everytime marco stares
Me: YESS MARCO
Apparently chef standards are extremely low in South Africa.
Harder than it looks, especially performing in front of others
I can confirm
We do have pretty decent chefs. These two aren't it.
not really these people were selected for skin color and gender not cooking skills.
to be fair butchering a lamb with MPW is probably the hardest pressure challenge they could’ve come up with for them
Marco just chillin at the end munching on some lamb is so adorable to me
7:51 he just pokes his finger into the lamb like it hasn't been cooked lmao
"Allow the knife to do the work": Marco
"Let the knife do the work": Gordon
I guess that's where Gordon got his phrase from
Wait i never see marco cook this "slow" on a tv show
It's easy to find cooking not stressful and fun when you have already mastered it. That goes for every skill. When you have mastered a skill, every step feels like you are a high level character in a low level area.
MasterChef: Mars, Spacestation, Antartica.
Atlantis
As long as there's a Marco Pierre White Masterclass and Restaurant takeover I'll watch those.😉
7:49 lmao Marco got no chill
Presence and leadership. He doesn't just instruct but challenges them to use Thier own instincts. That's training and development at its best.
Who missed "Yes Marco!!"??
Do they purposely choose contestants based on their anxiety and lack of self-confidence?
no in South Africa based on gender and race sadly not skill.
Yes
Marco is on a different level and it is quite Understandable
Love Roxy's accent. I could listen to her speak all day.
What a great chef and mentor Marco has become, always pleasure to see him in action.
3:23 Show offfffff by the godddd
A few years ago I started cutting onions HIS way.
And since I do it Marco's way, I dont have to look at the onion either. It's incredibly easy.

That echo
Marco's onion and garlic game is a whole other level! He's like a pneumatic drill.

Marco Pierre White is the BEST chef and my BEST character for these TV series.
I love Marco. Full of wisdom,
When marco said allow the knife to do the work, I just realised how much Gordon learned from Marco.
The Stares of Marco Pierre is The Equivalent of Gordon Ramsay's Burning Rage because you did something wrong

*Marco Pierre (in my opinion) isn't just a great chef but also a philosopher 💖*

Forget Gordon Ramsay, Marco could make Hannibal Lecter cry.
i really felt Marco's frustration to these finalists. and i never seen Marco cooking and doing things SO SLOW compared to MC Canada and MC Australia. i mean, you're the finalist and you will complain about that tiny bone in your lamb, asking how many bay leaves you should put, or when will you put your clams? ARE YOU GUYS EVEN COOK AT HOME?
I agree this is just pathetic.
they aren't as developed or skilled as Canada and Australia and US, so yeah
Marco is beyond a masterchef.
His stare pierces your very soul
When Chef Marco chopped the onion without even looking at it, it made my jaw drop lol. I would've lost a nail
i could loose my finger😂
@@nimisha2581 Its all about how you position the fingers of the hand holding the onion or vegetable you are chopping. Use your Ring, middle and index fingers to hold the front, and your thumb on the back.
With the trio at the front, keep your middle finger in the front and center, and the other two fingers firm behind. Your middle finger's intermedie phalange's joint should be always touching the blade of the knife, that way, it will always protect the rest of your fingers.
