MK2 and trilogy were such garbage ass games, I don’t understand how they were actually liked! I’m sure most will agree with my list!

I can't be the only one who really enjoyed Mortal Kombat 4 :( this was even more nostalgic to me than previous versions :(
Powi MK4 still stands the test of time. It’s got a great look to it. Still love it. It’s of that era.
The continue screen was bloody good at giving me nightmares, that's for sure! Loved the music too.
MK4 and MK Gold were my favorite.
Jivy I had the exact same MK4 PC port. that thing was great.
I grew up off that and Sub Zero. At worst I can say they aged badly, but realistically I don't have anything bad to say about those games.
Na man Fujin is awesome, the only good newcomer out of MK4. Rain is still the best tho.

Rain sucks ass. Totally broken and unbalanced in Trilogy, has the worst fatality in the entire franchise (his uppercut fatality is fucking horrible,) he's barely got 3 special moves, he's only been playable 4 times in 15 released games, and he's consistently ranked as one of the lamest characters by various media outlets. Fuck Rain, weakest ninja outside of Chameleon.
@wafflcoptr Rain is a character with wasted potential but a lot of people would disagree with you saying that he is bad. He got better when the MKX comics fleshed him out a little more along with his appearance in the MKX story-mode and before that they were fleshing him out a little in Armageddon. Ed Boon himself said that he doesn't like Rain but its funny cause some characters that Ed dislikes are some of the ones that have a relatively large fan-base.
@@CradleOfJohn He just doesn't offer anything special. Unlike Reptile, Noob Saibot, Ermac, or Smoke who all started off as rumors and secret characters you could fight but not play as, Rain was a joke from the start. By the time he was playable, his moveset was simply unfair and unbalanced and if you had a friend who played him in Trilogy, you were pissed off and would talk endless shit for him choosing Rain (think Oddjob in Goldeneye.) If that weren't enough, his uppercut Fatality in that game is, barre none, the worst in the entire franchise. MK vs. DC gets a lot of flak but those fatalities were created under some serious limitations imposed by Warner Bros. Trilogy didn't have those restrictions. It could have been as violent as they wanted it to be, and yet it was the shittiest fatality up until that point and you'd be hard pressed to find a worse one (some of Bo' Rai Cho's are really bad, Quan Chi's neck-stretch in Deadly Alliance is up there too.)
But what really ruins him are his fans. They seem to think he's just as cool as Scorpion and Sub-Zero and think he should be in every game, even though the number of fatalities he has is lower than the number of games he has been playable in. Rain is seriously underwhelming in every aspect and his fans want him to be DLC when we only have 6 slots available that would be better used on characters like Fujin, Shujinko, Onaga, Blaze, Havik, Motaro, Reiko, and maybe a guest like Spawn or Doomguy. Rain had his chance already, it's kinda selfish to want him again.

I don’t hate MK4/Gold, but I consider it that difficult to master baby step of the franchise. For it to evolve from the 90s era to the 2000s. If you know what I’m trying to say.

To be fair, the arcade version of MK4 was much better looking than any of the ports, including the DC version. A shame a proper port has still never been made of the game in its original form

You’re complaining about the use of weapons going against the warrior’s prowess rules in Mortal Kombat?
You do realize that ALL of the characters in this series are fucking cheaters?
-Scorpion: Literally had a move where he launches a harpoon at his opponents (also he can teleport spam)
- Sub Zero: Freezes people which is in no way his natural fighting prowess.
- Liu Kang: Spams fire balls
- Sonya Blade: Uses third part tech to shoot out projectiles
- Johnny Cage: By far the only one who is not a cheater, until you remember his split punch move
- Kano: Uses Australian bowie knifes in a fight
- Raiden: Literal fucking God (who also teleport spam)
- Reptile: Acid Spits in people’s faces like a bitch
- Shang Tsung: Transforms into completely different fighters with dark magic and also spams projectiles
- Kung Lau: His hat is a weapon
- Kitana: Use fans as weapons
- Mileena: Uses sais as weapons
- Jade: Uses bo staff as weapons
- Baraka: His retractable bone blade is technically a weapon in itself
- Jax: Not a fucking cheater in MK2, but became one in MK3 by giving himself metal arms (and eventually a gun)
- Goro/Kintaro/Sheeva: Weight class rules. Outworld basically cheated in the previous 9 MK tournaments by using Shokans as their representatives in this tournament.
- Sindel: Not sure what the rules are for hair, but that is potentially a weapon. Plus her sonic screeching has to be against the rules for use of magic.
- Nightwolf: He has a weapon with the tomahawks AND relys on spirits to fight.
- Stryker: Uses guns, grenades and police stick to fight
- Kabal: His hook swords and all the traps he set up in the fight
- All of the Cyber Ninjas: Seriously those guys are living weapons, they are totally cheaters.
- Ermac: He is made of 100 souls, so essentially you are fighting 100 opponents at the same time. That is bullshit!
-Motaro: Cheap motherfucker! He deserved to die in MK9.
- Shao Kahn: The guy uses hammers and spears in the fight. WTF! He’s like a 7 foot tall, Pillar Man physique mountain of a man who has over 5 centuries of hand to hand combat experience. Why does he even need weapons in the first place?
In conclusion, Mortal Kombat rules doesn’t not give a shit for fair combat.

I believe the “arright” line is just a small joke or something for the game. In the arcade and n64’s endings for raiden and subzero the line plays at the end of the endings as well as playing during the mk4 staff credits. And in the soundtrack it plays at the end of the track “Rain”

i loved playing MK4 and yeah in 2019 these graphics are garbage due to the limitations they had back then,
take early Tekken games for example the models looked like lego characters but still seeing mortal kombat in 3D for the first time was pretty amazing, i remember me and my brother used to challenge each other for hours on the same keyboard.. good times

Overall good video, but one inaccuracy was that the arcade MK4 had "limited continues/lives". That was just the console versions.

Mortal Kombat is actually one of our favorite MK games. Yes, the graphics are a little crude, but at least it still allows gore like a good MK game should. It's also easy to pick up and play (relatively speaking).
As bad as mythology is there's a compelling charm to it that pulls you back to play it.
I mean, Mortal Kombat 4 was the first Mortal Kombat I ever played and it was the one that made me fell in love with the franchise, so I dont think is that bad.
I never get why people hate MK4. It played just like an MK game but it was in 3d. For the time, the graphics were great too, especially the DC version, which is the one I had. There were a ton of secrets and cheats as well. The fatalities were awesome too. I even liked the cutscenes. I never noticed any glitches as a kid, except one where a character would get defeated laying on the floor and then immediately appear standing again and then fall over. the complaints for this game just seem like nitpicking at things that aren't real problems or a big deal. I thought the PS2 era of MK's were boring; they didn't play or look like MK games.

It’s someone doing great cosplay of the character (put me down as his mom since he said his mom and dad made his good Scorpion costume). The green around the cut out tipped me off so I checked out the original cut scene from the game and it’s not the same lol.
I honestly disagree, Mk4 is better than Deadly Alliance, THAT'S the game that belongs on this list. Slow clunky gameplay, terrible/awkward animations, terrible new characters, etc. At least MK4 played like UMK3/MK Trilogy. Deadly Alliance was a slow, stiff, cumbersome mess of a game.
