I recently jumped in Finn and I’m also on 3x a week 1mg and asked myself if this is the right choice as this information has only come from them... but I do trust them. You say 3-4 times a week? I might jump on every other day as I just want to stabilise my hair loss

Although I've only been experiencing hair loss for a year, I wanted to do something right away. I started off on minoxidil but didnt really see much difference so knew it was time for Finn before the hairloss started to get noticeably. Im only 3 weeks into Finn treatment so hoping for the best

      @@123arsenal4life Hi mate, I have a 7 day pill box that I use for a few herbal pills I take daily so . As its an odd number some weeks I take 3 and sometimes 4. I honestly think I would get away with .5 every other day and still have regrowth/ keep the regrowth. My one and only regret is not starting a lot sooner but even at age 48 I've had really good results. I've been on it just over 2 years so this might be the maximum growth but my crown is 80-85% covered before fin 2" bald patch.

    Dr Bhatti recommends scheduling breaks in advance. He proposes stopping the medication every three months for a period of two weeks. It is a different approach than Vikram and Knudsen, but I believe that taking this precaution is harmless for those who are not affected by the build up and at the same time is preventive for those who are going to be affected by the build up.

    I quit Fin for about 3-5 months to switch to a more natural treatment - saw palmetto and rosemary essential oil. For a time, it actually looked like my hair was improving, then it all came crashing down. I now have noticeable thinning on the top of my head with excessive hairloss after showering.
    Restarted Fin about a month ago along with minoxidil and Nizoral shampoo and felt stubble on my scalp.
    But it’s difficult to tell if it was due to miniaturization, or if it’s new hair growing in. Time will tell.
    It’s stabilized again, lesser hair loss with no progression of balding. Goal is to stop progression of hair loss and hopefully regain some, if not all, of what I lost.

    Dear doctors! I wanted to thank you for bringing the field forward so willingly. Your discussions are quite valuable. As top pioneers however, I believe you may want to address the Post Finasteride Syndrome that's increasingly receiving academic attention and the potential innovations in the field that should be studied - meaning new/other advanced solutions to replace finasteride. Isn't it weird that we're using something that was primarily designed to fight prostate cancer? Can't we create the same effect in a more targeted manner?

    • @Skareremakes
      @Skareremakes 3 роки тому +5

      It hasn't been receiving any academic attention. It's been on hair loss forums since 2009 (the oldest posts I've ever found). Just like new advancements for hair loss medication, studies for PFS are something coming in near future. So like in over 10 years, do you think nothing would be found about an issue so big. Also tell me one thing why is it propeciahelp and not proscarhelp even though proscar has been around for a longer duration?

    • @downo
      @downo 3 роки тому +4

      @@Skareremakes, not sure whether you are an academician or not, but I do have to disagree based on easy-to-find findings. To me it seems there are hundreds of emerging studies about what the side effects of finasteride - and quite honestly, there will always be considering what a sizeable issue this is.
      Also you seem to have mistaken my comment: namely, I never suggested whether I think PSF is an accurate representation of finasteride as a hair-solution. Instead, I press to importance how much of a major concern it is. We must ensure clinical research is committed to PFS to make treatments healthier.
      Also, I am not able to answer your question because I lack information concerning propeciahelp and due to both of them being used in different dosages over different schemes and treatments for distinct treatments. In fact, I do believe you have a full disbelief to the potential side effects of both medications we've talked about and I can only think that this is not a healthy approach to finding a more solid key.
      Are you an active user of finasteride? Do you claim it is too safe to even have scientific discussions over? Curious!

Sides are very much real and are always due to hormonal imbalance. Estrogen being high and testosterone being low (simplified explanation) what I find hard to believe is how PFS is a thing. If the patient starts to loose hair after discontinuing then he should also be working completely fine as the effect of drug is over. I don’t disregard pfs in any way for sure. I sympathise and pray for them. But to your comment I just meant to say no big scale reputable studies are being done on pfs. Estrogen increase comes from the aromatise of testosterone. Some studies have even shown that testosterone deceases. However some shows testosterone increases, nonetheless estrogen levels may increase from finasteride HOWEVER they can also be reduced. It is said that a simple dose of 1mg can remain on the skin for at least 30 days, so daily intake would lead to an over-accumulation in the body. In addition, it takes 3-6 months for the body to rid itself of the drug.

I mean people who don't go through androgenetic alopecia can we say that their bodies don't produce that much amount of DHT as compared to people going through androgenetic alopecia OR is it just every male's hair in this world is prone to too much of DHT ? In simple words does "genes" contribute to the factor of producing more DHT or does it contribute towards weakening of hair follicles due to presence of DHT in one's body ?

      From my understanding it’s a combination of BOTH your DHT levels and your sensitivity to it. Some people could have a full head of hair and higher DHT than someone who is completely bald. This is because the man who is bald (though he has lower DHT levels than the man with luscious locks) is more sensitive to it. But no matter what, the higher your DHT levels are the more at risk you are for losing hair.

    I started developing gyno within the first month. Pretty whack. I was only taking 0.5mg 5 days a week... should I stop and hope gyno goes away and then start at an even lower dose? Should I run an Aromatase Inhibitor at the same time? Is that safe long term?

    What do you think about using finasteride in woman?

    Sir, I was consuming finasteride for 5-6 months then my doctor recommended me to cease finasteride and start vitamin supplement. For 2 months finasteride was ceased (before ceasing it, my Hairfall were in medium stability not good enough). After 2 months I have been facing all in a sudden exaggerated hair fall, especially those longer hairs which weren't initially falling while taking finasteride. Kindly have you opinion.

      If you are avoiding finasteride, try eucapil. It’s a topical anti androgen that blocks dht without getting into the blood

    I had taken fin for 15 years successfully before taking a 1 year-long break. as expected I experienced some shedding and losing a lot of ground. now I'm back on it, does it mean all the follicles are now lost ?
    I guess my question is, does the miniturizing process go more rapidly for those (fin-treated) follicles as it did originally when my male pattern hair loss first kicked in or are they still asleep after one year ?

    Hi - thanks for the information. Can you suggest a cycle of taking finasteride with clomid and Aramadix. I started taking finasteride few weeks ago and noticing bloating, and also a hollow-Ish feeling in my testicles. Any idea or advice? I’m wondering if there is some kind of cycle where I can take finasteride 3 times a week and clomid and arimadex along side for a few weeks? Please advise awaiting your reply.

    As dutesteride blocks more of dht shouldn't it be considered a better drug than fin and should be the first drug of choice. And also what are the side effects cases on both the drugs i.e which one has more chances of side effects I have heard it's fin.
