AND THERE IT IS - Eugene's stamp of approval!! Fixing, repairing and restoring washers for years and years, this is the guy I want to hear from on whether a washer is good or not good. He will forget stuff that I have yet to learn!! Awesome video, big thumbs up!!!
This is the kind of testing that should be available on television. You go through the trouble and expense to really put these machines to the test. Watching the entire wash program may not be for everyone, but when you're about to drop a Grand on a Washer, this is the evidence you need to make a decision on what machine is for you. Plus the fact that you repair them and sell them. If only Consumer Reports and other reviews showed this kind of interest but they turn it into a Crap Shoot with their "Dance around the campfire" not really showing the end result. Thanks again Eugene for your time, money and efforts to review these machines. Your reviews will definitely be a decision maker when I am ready for another washer
Thank you soooo much for all you do, Eugene. Really appreciate your very clear pros and cons you list, and matter of fact, unbiased washer demonstrations and commentary. Previously today I ordered a LG 3900 set, was doubting that decision, thinking I should go back to buying a Speed Queen TR5 or TC5. Then here is your video saying you’re taking it home, you like the LG3900 so much! I only wish there was room in the laundry room for both then I wouldn’t have to choose between this frontload and one of the Speed Queens. Both types of machines have definite values. Thanks so much for your informative and entertaining hours spent, so many of us look forward to watching.
Thank you for the review. I guess I bought the best washer money can buy after all!! I love this LG washer.. Nothing even Whirlpool or Maytag or Speedy Queen comes close! I've owned all 3 brands but this LG machine is in different level...
It sounds like I made a good choice too, then! Sorry if it's a weird question, but which setting do you find yourself using most often? My unit comes in on Saturday and I thought I'd just be using "Normal" most of the time, but I read a review which said that Normal on this washer is a little too hot and takes too long. Have you found that? Or is there another setting you've come to like best? Grateful any remark, or none if it's a trouble.
Hi there- I’ll start by saying I stumbled upon your review while researching videos for this particular LG model (wm3900hwa) of wash/dryer and was thrilled to have found it. You do a fantastic job detailing specifics about the washer that can’t be learned from just reading the product description or manufacturers videos. So many reviews seem to just cover the basic appearance of products and “show buttons and lights” but really don’t get much deeper. I found the detail about Turbowash in this video and actually showing it in action extremely unique because I’d searched so many reviews trying to understand just exactly what this feature is and why I may or may not need it! Your personal opinion of cons vs pros after various experiments on stains, odor removal, etc. seemed believable and unbiased and addressed the stuff I wanted to know before purchasing this set. Thanks so much for sharing; my husband and I look forward to your reviews now!
Thank you for an excellent, thorough review. Very few people are able to review washing machines well. I’d add that this model, the 3900, is Consumer Reports top pick for front load washing machines, and they lab test two dozen machines.

Just donated to you on Paypal for your awesome work. Would you comment on how gentle the 3900 is versus the 3700? Consumer reports rates the 39 at fair gentleness and 3700 at good gentleness. I'm not sure which to buy and if the gentleness should be a concern for front loads in general and normal clothes. Thanks! John From CA
Comparing the 3500 to the 3900, you say that the 3500 seems to do a better job cleaning, but the turbo wash on the 3900 is a big deal. Is it a big deal just for its speed?
Curious as to why you stock this over the 3500. If that one is cheaper and cleans better why have customers spend -$300 more? I know you said it washes a load faster, but since you can do a weeks worth of cloths in one load, why does it need to be done so quickly? I think for me I will get a 3500. Thanks for the great videos.
Which would you buy a lg front or top loader? Family of 3. We wash large dog beds, car towels and normal loads. Our whirlpool duet is on its last legs. We value your input. Thanks sally from california
Great video as usual and I would consider buying this washer based on your tests. However there is another FLW out there which seems to get huge positive results and wins by many others who do FLW tests. That is the Electrolux. Their pre-mix soap seems to do fantastic stain removal. I like the LG but really like the Electrolux as per some features which the LG doesn't have. The pre-soap mix is a great feature with outstanding rinse cycles and fast washing. In addition the ability to put the washer door on either side is very important.
Electrolux is a great washer but LG definitely tops it. The soap mixing feature is a huge gimmick tbh, it isn’t much different to the soap being mixed by agitation of the tub and sprayed over the clothes by the recirc pump, without an extra piece of machinery inside to go wrong. Also LG is a more reliable brand than Electrolux, and is more serviceable, most notably from the filter trapdoor which Electrolux does not have. Also the user control panel would be much harder to take off due to its strange design and how it’s integrated into the metal case of the washer, unlike LG where it’s completely separate. And I will say that the Electrolux does have a slight edge in cleaning, but it’s nothing extreme. And LG definitely wins in rinsing due to the spray rinses and the recirc pump. So overall the LG is a much better option
@@Ikey04-ge9gy Good points and I must agree I wasn't sure about the soap dispensing being that I still use a 20 year old top loader Amana made by Raytheon which appears to be on the design of a old Speed Queen. Thank you for your honest reviews. I value them more than I do Consumer Reports. I have been researching which washer to buy and it is hard to find honest reviews. I have decided on this washer. The runner-up was the Maytag Commercial and I almost bought it but decided that I don't like the lack of control over water level in the Maytag. I crochet hats, scarves, etc and sometimes want just a very small water setting (and gentle cycle) for them. I think the LG will be great for these and other items as well. Thank you again for your help.
My parents have had a GE front load washer for about 7 years now. It doesn't use enough water to get things clean. My solution? I pour hot water using a pitcher about 10 to 20 fills and pour it into the detergent slot which makes it immediately fall into the washer drum. Do you think this is damaging the washer?
UNIX the bearings will probably go faster. You’re adding extra weight and the washer won’t have enough time to drain before it spins putting strain on the bearings and the motor.
I wonder if the ketchup test result would be more similar to the WM3500 if you turn off the turbo wash. That would be a closer apples to apples comparison for the machine itself and not the turbo wash feature.
Would you know the difference between the 3900 and the 4370? They are similar in price and I know the 3900 is the newer model with 360 TW and the smart tech but I can’t find any real good comparisons.

For the front load LG washers do you recommend manually adjusting the water level to give you a bit of extra water in the drum? I've heard of people doing this and getting better results with an extra couple inches ( couple gallons) in the drum. I'd like to get your take on that. Thanks

And by the way the power wash or the turbo wash as LG calls it have been in the miele production line since 2014
Anyway if you say that it's a good performer I will believe it but I'm sure that it's not a long lasting one
Miele washers are very small capacity and cycles are too long. Many people in the US are using gas dryers, Miele makes only electric dryers. I'm not sure when LG introduced turbowash, but my 2013 model has it.
Idk for the US but you can get one in Canada even tho they’re super expensive. Between 2000$and 4000$
@@miroslavserb1 wow prices are super high in Canada. www.designerappliances.com/laundry/washers/front-load-washers/manufacturer/miele/sort-by/sort_value/sort-direction/asc.html
Send me the twin boss
I just realised this washer has no hand wash cycle and it's not available to download. It's useless for people who own many wool and cashmere sweaters and other hand washable items.
Less water doesn’t make the clothes clean. Need more water so the materials can absorb water made the clothes clean.
