I think this particular model is now discontinued. The current equivalent model is probably the LG WM4000. I just ordered the LG WM4500HBA and the matching dryer - very similar to this model but not stackable and with slightly larger capacity. A big factor in our purchase was based on reported reliability. We've had our Sears Kenmore set (front load also) for 22 years. The washer had to have the drum bearing replaced about a year ago, but now the motor has gone south and we've decided that it's just time to give in and get a new set. (The Kenmore Dryer is still going strong). If this LG set lasts as long as the Kenmore lasted it will likely be the last washer and dryer I buy in my lifetime.

Excellent review. I just bought this at Costco for only $1450 for the white units since this will be replaced by the WM4000 after the new years....Great deal for one of the best washer/dryer combos around
@@CC-iv7uj Yes, I have washed both comforters and blankets in it. It will virbrate a little more with a heavy load like a comforter but they fit and get clean. I've found that if I turn the spin cycle down, theres less vibration and when using bleach and steam they get just as clean and white as faster spin cycles.
How high is the stacking of dryer? I’m 5.0ft tall. And since the dryer is a large capacity unsure how accessible reach in would be without a step stool. Also, in the stacking does it vibrate a lot in running both the washing and dryer at the same time?
The controls are at about 6FT. The top of the dryer is probably about 6"-3" stacked. The bottom of the dryer basin in significantly lower but it is fairly deep so it might be a reach to get stuff out of the way back of the dryer. The stacking doesn't add any additional vibration in my experience. The dryer is very smooth and doesn't really vibrate even with heavy loads. However the washer does have a significant amount of vibration if it's not placed on a solid surface like concrete. Mine is located on the second floor and at higher spin cycle speeds with larger loads you will notice some vibration. I've noticed that will almost any front load washer you get some level of vibration because of the physics of an unbalanced load of wet clothes spinning at high speed. Using smaller loads or setting the spin cycle to a lower level lessens the vibration. Thanks for subscribing.
Do you have any information regarding the issues with LG refrigerators and the compressor failures. Are the 2021 models subject to the same failures or has the problem been fixed?
I just seen a commercial for the LG WashTower. I seen this was stackable but I guess this is not the WashTower one. Still, very informative video. Thank you!
So, what do you think of the app experience? Do you like it and did you find it intuitive and easy to use? p.s. Awesome in-depth review, super informative. Feel much more comfortable going with it. I like that LG is so highly recommended, even my repairman (who was almost giving up on my old Electrolux) was recommending the brand, too.
I'm in the market right now for a washer and dryer and it appears the 3900 was replaced with the 4000 series. any thoughts?. also they are on sale right now for $850 each. Good deal?
How high up are the dryer controls when stacked? I'll have no problem at my height, but my wife is much shorter. If they are too high, I'll have to keep a phone with the app installed nearby.
Try adjusting the leveling feet at the bottom of the unit, or adding a shim to make it level. Also the stackable washer/dryer does have a locking plate between the unit that locks them together to prevent them from shaking as much. Getting these as level as possible to prevent vibration is important.
Has anyone found a way to have Alexa or Google announce that the washer or dryer is done (as other brands can do)? They have the app and a Alexa Skill but it appears to be essentially useless.
Thank you for this in depth review. Looking to get this set in the near future and saw some mixed reviews particularly about the dryer and how it constantly has error codes popping up. Have you experienced this with yours?
I bought this washer and dryer last year and love using every minute of it! These LGs are simple to use and the built quality is top-notch. I would definitely recommend this washer and dryer.
Our new gas dryer in this model smells like burning rubber when you run it on anything other than air dry. It makes the room smell and inside the drum smells the most. LG didn’t have a fix for it and said it was the release of the gas as it dried. Did you experience this too? Did it stop doing that after a while?
