I’ve just got my first DSLR camera and have been struggling to get my head around the different lenses and exactly what the differences mean.. this explained it perfectly and without overcomplicating things! Thank you 🙌🏻
@@JoshWiniarski I got my First Cannon Mirrorless R10 and this video was very helpful, I have RF55-210 and RF 18-45 as a package, what other beget friendly lenses would you recommend please? My goal is for both indoor and outdoor photos including low light indoor and great day light shooting outdoors and wild life, awaiting your response at your earliest convivence. Also, can you also give tour honest opinion on RF55-210 , RF 18-45 & Cannon EOS R 10 Please, did I made a good choice for my upgrade from using Nikon Coolpix P510 for almost 7 years and getting great shots on it.
GREAT ENERGY in your videos! I'm a photojournalist but there's no harm in going back to basics! I started out with a prime 50mm 1.8 lens on my Nikon and was very happy until I was able to afford a 24-70mm zoom lens...but you point out the differences with fantastic skill..keep up the good work!
Hell yeah quality content! Already knew this stuff but you laid it out in such a nice way I watched through the whole thing! I can only imagine the time and effort this took
Appreciate that you corrected yourself. definitely subscribed because I appreciate that you are feeling to be vulnerable and correct yourself. that's a mentor's mindset.
There’s always that one person who can explain things so freaking well!!!!! The bad part is we don’t find them until I’ve done days and days of research
Thank you so much for making this video! Out of all the videos I watched yours was definitely the most helpful and helped me learn everything about lenses!
OMG! I’m not even half way through this video and I’m educated and entertained much more than most other camera equipment video tutorials out there. I’ll definitely be subscribing and checking out more of your vid’s my friend! Thanks and cheers from Montreal, Canada!
New subscriber! I've been trying to get my head around lenses for a couple of months now as my own channel grows! The way you've explained it has made it so much simpler... Now I'll have to go through the rest of your videos! 👍🏼
Bro! 😂😂 so crazy. . . Midway through your video (roughly 7:10) when you were talking about auto focus and said “haaaa…(clap) making sure you’re still awake!” Literally, a few seconds prior to that, I had just started scrolling through something else and it actually caught my attention and brought my focus back to your video lol it only felt right that I HAD to because…what are the odds?! Lol I just thought I’d mention that lol Great video, btw!
LOL at about 8:15 I was waiting for a cough cough Sigma 17-50 2.8 when you were mentioning autofocus noise during video. I also thought of the Yongnuo (or however you spell it) 50mm 1.8 shortly before you showed it. Haven't finished the video yet but great content so far even good reminder for intermediate photographers.
I have watched tons of videos on photography but not as simplified as this one. Thanks for sharing. You just made me your new subscriber. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
I'm a total newbie and I feel like his helped me to understand what I need to look for when shopping for a lens. I appreciate the example footage, you'd be amazed how many videos talking about lens do not include example footage or even a view of the lens they're talking about.
Hey I’m trying to start a UA-cam channel man. I’m doing okay with reactions. Only 2 months in myself. I watched your video for help and you did awesome thank you! I got what I needed! Just wanted to say I love how engaged you are and keep it up I see the passion man!
Really appreciate this video. I’ve only recently started becoming a bit more serious about photography and pulled out the Rebel SL1 that’s been in my closet forever. It’s old, but it works with good lenses. I have a couple. I hadn’t realized just how much of a difference IS makes. Wow.
I looked at the clock literally one second before you said I see you eyeing the clock 😂 Great video just bought a 90d and I'm trying to learn all that I can. I subbed and I'll be watching more of your content!
Great tutorial bro! After about 2 years, I now have a good understanding of camera lenses. This video included pretty much everything I was looking for and then some! And I appreciate your unique sense of humor.
Hi, great video! I've been trying to start with photography for the last 5 years and I'm always coming back to basics. But this is probably the best video on lenses I have seen so far. Thank you 😉
@kanasts7 so do you have a camera or just thinking about it? I know for me i always wanted one and would see them advertised and anyways wanted one but didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a really expensive one finally after years i ended up taking a photography class at a local college and ended up buying a used body and a lens for a little over $200 man my only regret is not doing it sooner. You really could get a camera for less if you're really watching used ones for sale and if you dont need the newest thing, I went with a canon t2i and a brand new Canon 50mm 1.8 but you could find a used body and kit lens cheaper and honestly wish I had a kit lens. I love my 50mm but would like the flexibility of a kit lens, I know I could buy a used one but for what they go for by themselves I would rather just buy a used 17-55 2.8 but then I debate on a 17‐55 2.8 or to sacrafice a bit of wide angle and 2.8 for a 24-105 f4 which will work on a full frame. I should honestly just buy the 17-55 already or sigma 17-50 i don't think I'll regret it because I could resell and get my money back anyway, and ive rented the 17-55 and loved it!
@@JoshWiniarski Im not camera savvy at all soooo, but I want to get better results from my camera by replacing the kit lens it came with an inexpensive/great lens even if I have to get an adapter and go to A-mounts. Ques: I have a newly acquired Sony NEX-5t that doesn't take good indoor photos (dark) unless theres flashes or auxiliary lighting. Im mainly taking general photography shots, no zoom/wide, some videos...so what are some options? Thanks!
This is your calling. You explain things much better, much clearer, much funner
Calling lmao what are you
I’ve just got my first DSLR camera and have been struggling to get my head around the different lenses and exactly what the differences mean.. this explained it perfectly and without overcomplicating things! Thank you 🙌🏻
what lenses you need depends on what you shoot
DO NOT BUY DSRL. buy mirrorless cameras, they are much better
Love how much effort you put into making these videos. You deserve much more views and subs dude.
Appreciate it, videos like this take a surprising amount of effort haha. Just going to keep making them better and better and we'll see what happens!

I enjoyed your class Mr. Winiarski. Not dull, technicalities clearly explained for a new comer to DSLR photography. 🤔
Thank you I just purchased my first EOS Canon and needed to understand better regarding lens. Much appreciated!
