Great idea. Question: why didn't you align the two pieces after the weld instead of manually moving it? Does the offset not function with the align tools?
Yes, you could do that too. You could add your original design, weld it and then create the offset and then add the original design once again. After you have welded your objects together, there is no ability to align those objects on the Scan N Cut. You could align a number of welded objects....just not the objects that have been welded. Lots of ways to do things.... I didn't need the flower to be aligned perfectly with the completed offset as it needs to be cut as separate objects. I could have also brought in option F of that design and all the pieces would have been already aligned correctly and grouped. I could have ungrouped them, welded them together, and created an offset. Then reimported the design. However.... then I wouldn't have been able to show the alignment tools, how to group, and all the other features that I used in the video 🙂 While I used an inbuilt design, this tutorial was to help you bring in eternal designs which would potentially import spread like I imported the flower.
