And also if you would connect the box to a 12V source anywhere inside you shouldn't be need to extend the wires to the battery right? and also the earth/negative. Just some thoughts. Thank you.
Hi, re. the indicators, yes, the hazard light switch was a much much more logical solution that didn't come to my head at the time I was doing the video. The reason why I hooked 12V straight to the battery is because I did not know which components work and which do not when the ignition is off- some cars have their 12V socket supplying constant power, some kill the power the second ignition is switched off. As the box is not an accessory but rather something you want to have constantly powered I'd play it safe and connect the wire to the nearest known permanent 12V terminal, which in my case was the battery. Will connecting the wire which control the lock function coming out of the remote control unit to the above said green wire or pin of the BCM would activate the remote lock system? Please help to activate this remote system. Thanks.
try this one trick... get a small computer fan and now try to connect the wire like this: lock wire from the car->computer fan(+) computer fan(--) ->ground Does it work? I am asking because my Audi A3 works on a "resistance" principle- straight wire connection locks the doors, whereas if you put a resistor inbetween the wire and the ground it unlocks the car. You can then make a Y-joing from the car lock wire and route straight wire into lock signal and "resisted" signal through the computer fan into unlock signal.
Adam G yes it works, I also test by connecting one end of testing light to the said green wire of the Output BCM connector and the other end to negative ground. Thereafter, all 5 doors locked automatically. Now, how to unlock all the 5 doors again? And, would be pleased to know which wires of the Input BCM connector corresponds to lock and unlock doors. In this case, everything would be done for the remote system if we could locate the said wires. With regards. Thanks.
Bennie G my Golf had a door lock-operated central locking system from the factory, and yes, the one on the passenger side still works. I chose to fit it on the driver’s side as I mentioned the driver’s side barrel was busted. Hope this helps
yes. the way this kit works is, it tricks the computer into thinking you just turned the key in the door when in fact you pressed a remote. so if your car has central locking, this will work.
So I would be needing the following only: remote key, control unit, wiring harness. And not even a single actuator is required though? Let me be clear of this particular actuator. Thanks.

@@Adam_G Well I haven't quite had a look in the car itself I thought to look in the wiring diagram before doing anything. Where I should be looking for this? In the panel or the loom that runs through the door
Sir I locate the wire green color located on the.BCM which only locks all doors of Hyundai i20 car, but, could not locate the wire for unlocking all doors.
Will connecting the wire which control the lock function coming out of the remote control unit to the above said green wire or pin of the BCM would activate the remote lock system? Please help to activate this remote system. Thanks.
try this one trick... get a small computer fan and now try to connect the wire like this:
lock wire from the car->computer fan(+) computer fan(--) ->ground
Does it work?
Thanks.
So when you connect a small computer fan between the green wire and ground, does it still lock all doors?
Adam G yes....all doors are still locked
try using different resistors and see if this helps... i do not think the signal is digital, there has to be a way
Alright pal, i fitted this too a fiat punto and the unlock button both unlocks and locks the car, I can’t seem to get it any other way, any ideas?
So when you press lock, nothing happens and when you press unlock once, car locks, another time, and the car unlocks?
@@Adam_G when i press lock nothing happens. When i press unlock it locks the car. Full stop. If i press unlock again it will unlock.
@@michaelkennedy8573 for your door lock, does the key turn both left and right or just one way?
@@Adam_G both
@@michaelkennedy8573 right, when you're shorting the wires, does it lock/unlock with a single wire also?
Great video man!
Did your car come with a factory central lock switch? If it did, did it still work after you installed the system?
Bennie G my Golf had a door lock-operated central locking system from the factory, and yes, the one on the passenger side still works. I chose to fit it on the driver’s side as I mentioned the driver’s side barrel was busted. Hope this helps
Bennie G that's very curious questions for me too. If the car comes factory fitted central lock, upgrade to remote would be just a simple steps away!!
Will this remote lock works in Hyundai i20 since the car already comes with factory fitted central locking?
yes. the way this kit works is, it tricks the computer into thinking you just turned the key in the door when in fact you pressed a remote. so if your car has central locking, this will work.
So I would be needing the following only: remote key, control unit, wiring harness.
And not even a single actuator is required though? Let me be clear of this particular actuator. Thanks.
Is this Golf still going? Wouldn’t mind buying it for the registration

Just one question, how exactly you connect to the indicators?
Hi, the module has two wires coming out of it (left and right indicator) that I connected to front left and right lamps. It may work better if you plug them directly to the hazard light switch. Hope this helps.
@@Adam_G ooo ok, thanks it helped! 😃
Good video! Great job! :)
Doubt you'll reply to this but I need some help. I have spent the day fitting this on my 2006 vw polo. I have white with white and black as power then yellow with black on unlock and yellow on lock. When I press unlock everything works fine but when I press lock my car locks but then straight away unlocks itself. I can't figure out what is happening and I'm pretty useless at electronics so I'm glad I even made it this far. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
When you have it connected, does the central locking work as normal with a key?
So if I press lock my doors lock but then unlock and if I press unlock the doors do unlock. I've used manual key in the door and all 4 doors will lock and stay locked but if I use the remote key then it locks but unlocks and won't stay locked
@@kimilesnipez that's weird... I have never ran into such a problem. Just to confirm you have three wires running from the locks yeah?
@@Adam_G yeah it was 3 wires and it was just messing up took 2 days to figure out and my girlfriend realised of we press lock button 2x with a 1 second gapbit locks. So that's good it works. But can't figure out the indicators. I tried wiring the hard lights but it just kept blowing the fuse and I don't know how to do it haha
@@kimilesnipez oh, that's an interesting twist, I never seen a kit that needs a double press... Have you tried wiring it to the hazard light switch?
I tried it on a polo 6r but didn't work. I have found the wiring for open the car, but not for close the car. (for open is red whit blue. Can someone help?
Hi what year is your Polo? Could be a single-wire system (like in my Audi A3) where you must use a resistor for unlock and a clean signal for lock
@@Adam_G hi, thank you for responding. My car is from 2012.
@@reindervliet526 hi, in that case there is one ground and one +12V wire. Live signal is lock while live signal put through a resistor is unlock- you must split the live wire into two and connect straight signal to lock wire in the control module and wire with a resistor to unlock one. I can't tell you which resistor values you need, it'll have to be a bit of trial and error
Awesome video man!
Very good job !
how far can you use the remote?
Up to about 50 metres in my experience
@@Adam_G thanks
Can you drop the link where I can buy please
Try this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182676676538
Haha! Well done! It works!
I'm glad I could help!
it would be safer if you took the power from a red wire inside the vehicle rather than the battery connection as it might cause problems during raining and washing the car. also its easier when u r changing ur battery .. take the input power from the power coming to the indicators for example
Great job sir
15 Watt fuses are the best;)
Good job mate
My car remote central locking module does not receive signals from key fob. How to repair it???
Does it still work good ?
Still works perfectly to this day
Still works perfectly to this day
Great job!!!
Hans, the German, with a 15 Watt (!) fuse! :-D
WurstExpress #616 I think we can all agree that Hans is the most stereotypical German name haha
The 3 wire plug cable you connected into you connected the the white and white and black then it didn't work until you discovered it needed a live connected to the third wire which you didn't say what colour off wire made it work Ps you said all 4 wires connected when there is only three we have to guess what colour it is 😂😂😂
hi Adam hope you well m
Wish you lived near me mate! 😂
Pete Lucas hahah can't possibly that far away? 😏
i have fucking 8 wire from lock i cut 5 wire and nothing there are no schemes for the car ?????
Thanks
what good is this? how is this going to help me wire the system in an actual car. It's nothing to set it up on a bench, what we need is an instructional on how to hook it up to a car!
thanks for the feedback, did you actually watch video at least halfway through?
bravo....
He is for sure no professional. Always mount the remote box near the fuse box. No cable extension needed.
omagh boy?!
close enough, enniskillen 😉

Junk it mate
Thanks for the effort man, a great help!
