This is the most genesis game i can identify.. i mean if anyone tried to show me this game leaving me to guess the platform it belongs to, my answer would be immediately the genesis. Those sound effects and color palette, smells Sega all over the place
Aaaaaa, Jesus, I played it as a child and forgot the name, I searched for a long time on the forums and on UA-cam, but there was no information anywhere. Thank you very much!!
The reason why most of us never bothered with this game is due to the release date. It came out in December of 1994, the same date as the Sony Playstation. We were too distracted with Toshinden and Ridge Racer.
I remember looking at this game at a rental store called Video Goldmine, but it was before I owned a Genesis, so I never tried it. Seeing the box art is a blast from the past. Reading the wikipedia article about it is kinda hilarious.. The Gamepro review sounded pretty brutal and I imagine if the game had been the X-Men sequel it was originally supposed to be, they would've been kinder to it. Also thought it was interesting that the Gamepro reviewer claimed there were no boss fights when there clearly are. Almost makes ya wonder if they even got past the 1st sector. Looks like a good game to me. Yeah the controls seem a bit clunky, but it's got a great aesthetic and the story is cool.
Thank you very much! 🙂Beautiful, and very interesting game. Something in style remind "Flashback". So much good games be in retro era. In our modern time games diferent by the spirit and art performance. Time change, and games change. I very like old games, all modern video games industry began from there. Thank you, perfect walkthrough, I get a lot of pleasure to watch this. 👍
This game reminds me of The Sacred Armour of Antiriad, a much earlier 8-bits game with a similar setting and main character. Even the Wikipedia mentions it, although both games seem to be unrelated.
Funny how the story has a long distant resemblance to current Assassin's Creed mythos. It has no relation with Ubisoft but indirectly, Crystal Dynamics and others in the influence. Then I went to take a look and it was designed by Bruce Straley. The guy behind The Last of Us and of course Uncharted.
> According to the game's designer, Bruce Straley, the game had originally been intended to be part of Marvel's X-men universe; this may explain Monobe's uncanny resemblance to Scott "Cyclops" Summers. > uncanny resemblance > originally intended as an X-Men game You had to do it, didn'tcha? XP

In case you are wondering, Bruce Straley designed both this and the X-Men game, hence the similarities and music.
Plays like X-Men 1 on Sega Genesis even the first map is similar. Interesting.
First thing I thought when I saw it.
The music is very similar as well.
It's probably the same engine, from the same developer, with only a few sprites changing.
Yeah, similar engine for the platform play. Ironically some of the glitches from X-Men actually works but tricky to pull off
