One product if no other on your back pocket -triangle bandage it is a tourniquet and a wrap and a burn dressing and wound stuffing. Just a couple ideas.
Great Video, but: 1. You put the Tourniquet about 1 hand over where you think the source of bleeding is, not right over it as you said. 2. In a situation as bad as this leg, you don't even think of something else but to put a Tourniquet on as fast as possible. 3. The last product is called an Israeli Bandage, Emergency Bandage or T3. I agree that everyone should have some of theese, but you also need to know how to use it. - you make one or two wraps around it (in a very "dirty" environment you would wrap once to the left and once to the right around that plastic-lever to have good protection against contamination) - then you lead the bandage through that plastic-hook, and you pull the bandage to wrap it around in the OPPOSITE direction. - this will give pressure on the wound as the inventor intended it. - with each further wrap you can increase the pressure as desired and as it was demonstrated, you can twist the bandage to get even more extra-pressure. - then you FIX the bandage with it's plastic hooks at the end - I recommend you watch further videos on that. - you can use an israeli-bandage as an emergency-tourniquet, there's also videos on that.
So if the puncture were somewhere in the chest cavity, would you use some type of vented chest seal (like the Hyfin) to prevent a pneumothorax where the vent allows air to exit whilst prevent air from entering the chest cavity? Also I found this very useful as this is not mentioned much in first aid but should be given this is getting more common. Thanks
what I do if IVE been stabbed? thats what i really need to know diy techniques to deal with it or at least slow the bleeding. sometimes you cant go to the authorities but your still seriously injured.
Whatever you do - don't remove the object you've been stabbed with. If you can, apply pressure to the area. I would recommend that you contact the medical services immediately as stabbings can be fatal.
I carry all those in my first aid kit like the tourniquet and Israeli bandage but say I needed to use them in the correct circumstances, would the paramedics or doctors agree with my actions and understand how to handle them since these items are not available in many first aid kits and are not part of basic training?
So long as you are appropriately trained, confident and competent and working to recognised principals only using a tourniquet if direct pressure hasn't worked. Then there will be no issue with what you are doing as you will have been a fully trained and equipped first aider saving someone's life

Excellent vid, would be useful to do a vid how to improvise when you do not have a trauma kit

Helpful Hints unless you have a manufactured chest seal dressing with a valve, you should leave the wound open

Why wear gloves against the blood? For your own safety or theirs?
BeedleNeedle both
for both reasons, you may have an illness you dont know and it may be passable to others, and vice versa
Would a belt work as a tourniquet
