      Hi Carly , Ultimately trees regrow , as long as there is no mass deforestation and forests are being maintained/regrown then there is no harm in building a home from wood . Also the harm that comes from using a fireplace is next to nothing compared to the harm of burning gasoline and coal powerplants.

    Stunning place, lovely hostess. Truly one of the best air B&B ads anywhere. But ultimately I prefer this channel's videos of people's actual own homes, showing their personal priorities & quirks & storage solutions reflected in small spaces. Bryce has a real gift for bringing people out in conversation about their homes & themselves. Something's a touch lacking when the main purpose of the video is to rent a place you didn't build & do not live in.

      Our neighbours have Macrocarpa on their land. It’s a beautiful timber. They have purchased a sawmill and we have already put our orders in. Timber for our proposed outdoor living area and sawdust to go around our native plantings. I live in a road of, off the grid cabins, we are really into the Tiny house rural living up here in the Hokianga in New Zealand. Every home is unique in building styles to suit each households budgets and lifestyles. This coming summer l am experimenting with pallets and cob to create a hobbit inspired cabin - just because I can.
      Bryces channel inspired my decision to move home to New Zealand and go tiny. Best decision l ever made.

    I have to say this I have been silent for to long, you have lost us as viewers. This is no longer a channel about tiny houses it is simply a mouthpiece for a gig economy house rental company. We know that the world has changed. We know that you cannot travel. We know that you have to make a living. We get all that and we understand but the shameless promotion is not what this channel is about. If you want to promote short stay rentals start another channel. So long and goodbye.

    • @valeriee8579
      @valeriee8579 3 роки тому +1

      I had been following for 2 years and was wondering if anyone would unsubscribe too... AirBnB has totally ruined any permanent rental opportunities in my area... investors want to make a maximum of money...it has become so tough for the people who work and live here... therefore I no longer want to support a channel that is sponsored or has an AirBnb partnership, the tiny house spirit that started it is lost imo. Too bad because I loved it.

    Bryce, thank you for introducing us to another interesting concept in tiny house living and thank you for your always eloquent narration. I would like to offer an observation, though, with the utmost respect- and I welcome different opinions from the rest of the community on this: it seems that, since the introduction of the AirBnB focus, the depth of the conversations about tiny houses in your videos has been reduced. The important issues - about debt-free living, about sustainable building practices, about the right to housing, about respect for the environment, about the spiritual benefits of minimalism - do not appear to me to get sufficient analysis when the owners do not live full-time in the tiny home and simply use it as a source of profit. I took a look back at some of your older pieces, like that of the 70 year-old gentleman in BC who wanted to build an off-grid tiny house community for the homeless, and I feel that such inspirations for going tiny may be being trivialized by making these spaces a tourist attraction. I could be off base here - I welcome yours and other's inputs, please!!! Best wishes and I look forward to more vids!

      I agree. I always enjoyed so many tiny house living shows for some years.. But I'm staring to feel like I'm watching AirBNB infomercials. I'm guessing there is a sponsorship financial tie in. The places are lovely, Bryce still warm and friendly. Photography/ videography excellent. But a different spin. And to me, not as relevant or inspiring. My apologies if this is too blunt.

    Hey Bryce, love your channel and vids. Have been following, watching and rewatching for a number of years now. Watch others, but always come back home to yours for the most inspiring content. Not sure what's driving the new hard focus on airbnb, but I've gotta say, I'm not a fan. As an occasional one off, okay, but I'm really missing the 'alternative living' shared by so many you've introduced me to. People choosing a light footprint, permaculture, off grid, etc. Especially those who don't necessarily have family parking available :) With everything being so expensive in NZ, I can't imagine you've run out of new people to share their stories. I share this with you because I hope to continue to come home to my favorite tiny living explorer that continues to advance the heart of the tiny house movement. Keep exploring, keep sharing, be well, inspired and inspiring. Your videos are my number one because of it!

    Tiny houses are fabulous! I wanted to build one for a painting studio, but I am beginning to wonder about the safety of them, as they are usually built in forested areas... given the number of forest fires we have been experiencing annually. On the other hand, if built in a location near roadways, escape lock -stock-and-barrel would be a god-send! Thanks for doing these videos and sharing!

      Bear in mind that land clearing (for farming/housing/mining/etc) is one of *the* biggest contributors to the damage that this planet is experiencing and, for what it's worth, old growth trees are more fire resistant than young trees.
      Keeping as much forest intact as possible is far better for the earth in so many ways.

    Bryce:
    Really appreciate the show. It is inspirational.
    Could you consider listing the fixtures highlighted in your documentaries especially if they are unique or otherwise special.
    For example, I would be very interested in knowing the make of fireplace features here and also details about the compact refrigerator.
    Presumably you could provide affiliate links that would provide you with a further income stream.
    Also a shout out to the builders / architects involved in these tiny houses would also be useful. Who knows it might give them some extra business. Given the huge number of terrible buildings being constructed these days publicizing people who are producing something worthwhile would help other people support them.
