Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лип 2018
- There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. That's how the story goes, but this tiny house is no fairytale. Constructed from ferrocement, this spectacular home has been crafted as a whimsical yet functional retreat space which is shaped like a boot.

The home is constructed as part of Jester House, a cafe and gardens which is located near Motueka, New Zealand. There, the owners have transformed 5 aces of land into a retreat filled with beautiful gardens and creative tiny homes.

Anyone else just randomly started binge watching tiny houses? 🤣
Omg same😂 i‘ve never been interested in tiny houses and now I watch them 24/7😂
Yeah same
😂😂😂😅😅 and I can't stop watching
Lol, ditto. I want one!
LMAO I thought I am the only one
Love their philosophy! "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing humourously". What a much better world we'd have if that was a guiding philosophy of the majority.
Buddy Neher I agree with that man
Ok
Yes 😍😍 too
Agree, except for the 'clan-based' stuff...will always lead to power trips, then death. Socialism=death&destruction. Small tribes/clans looking out for each other & living wonderfully will have to deal with other tribes/clans encroaching and/or wanting what the peaceful/loving ones have...can't NOT boil down to that..as humans vary from righteous to evil.
What a much better world it would be if racism no longer existed...
"The boot came about because we drank too many bottles of wine" 😂😂😂😂
Yeah love that part... and what a great thing to have a wife in support of general silly things...
Kiwi’s 🍷🥴🥾🏠🤓😋😍😂
She's my spirit animal lmao
WONDERFUL SUCH A GREAT AND UNIQUE HOUSES...YA LIFE IS SHORT
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Hahahaha!!!
When your wife says "I want to live on a boat" but you're Australian and he hears "boot". Love it!
They sound more like New Zealanders to me...
You're funny 😊
Careful girls, what you wish for...
@@SisterShirley 😯😱You too! You such a funny person! 😢😳💩
@Bönzeaux Bleuxgrën They're in Nelson New Zealand, so.....
"If it's worth doing, it's worth doing humorously" - Steve. Wonderful fantasy world. Thanks again Bryce.
Not just Steve. His wife, Judy, too!
I showed the shoe house to my 4-year-old daughter and she was in awe and said "Mommy, your story about the old woman who lived in a shoe is real?!" See, it's real! 😂😍👍 Fairytales do come true!
Awe 💛💜🖤❣💖💚💗🧡❣
N my daughter is watching this vdo again n again
😍😍😍
The Happy Diaries that’s amazing !!!
They ARE true...
I’ve learned the people who build these homes are true free spirits.
I feel the same - there's something special about them - their true inner character
I have thought the same😊
That house has got sole 😂
Lots of sole in a small footprint
Who says a house HAS to be square, rectangular, or conventional? Well done!
The H.O.A.
No one
I find that square houses are boring and this is cool
Building Codes??
The engineer who has to plumb and wire it :D
The whole property is very impressive. I love how they created an earth friendly world on their land.
The world needs more people like these! There isn't nearly enough loving humor and whimsy, like they bring to life and home :)
Hello Stacy
-Where do you live?
-in a fairy-tale house
- really, do you live in a castle?
-no, I live in a shoe
Beats living in the crooked house though! 😂
I like the humor about , "Living in a Casthe or shoe"
Or in a " van down by the river".
The land is the key to these homes. The land is breathtakingly beautiful.
"really impressed how u have laid out everything within it's *footprint* " lol
I caught that too.
What a funny bastard
Love the way he lace it out, it's a shoe in for the whimsical home community with a reasonable footprint within the surroundings. This is truly out of the box thinking! The kicker is it looked like such a fun build which is what out shoed be aboot! He really put his sole into it which you saw in the step by step explanation. I'm trying to hold my tongue so I don't put my foot in my mouth. I'll just shoe myself the door now and give myself the boot!
Been watching your channel for a while but never left a comment. This was the time to do it. Loved this video smiled all the way through it and so did my husband. Keep finding these fabulous tiny houses and making videos for us to watch, dream about and love. Thank you so much for the pleasure you bring to so many people.
This is ART. Completely amazed.
Very clever. Love the attention to detail. The “stitching” is gorgeous.
I know it was probably not intentional (or may it was, who knows) but the fact that Bryce said he loved how he's laid everything out in the footprint, made me snort water out my nose.
I love everything about this. The child in me is screaming in excitement because of this little miniature, fantastical village. This is true art and passion!
I have zero interest in living in a tiny house, but I can’t stop watching these videos 🤷♀️
@Deleted Account Let’s have our husbands live in a big house and you and I will go Tiny!
Same
Me too, currently I am living in a small studio and I am looking to move into a specious house: but I watch these videos as they help me go to sleep
Well I find tiny houses extremely cool and I would propably enjoy living in one, but it ain't gonna happen for many reasons.
But I'm binging those videos as well. Those little houses are often so incredibly cool...
@@sagichdirdochnicht4653 I think it's the utilization of space that I like. I have large rooms that I keep half empty to avoid clutter, but would love to get more use out of them.
This boot must smell wonderful when chocolate cookies are baked. It made me smile, love your shoe.
Best tiny house ever seen. It has got everything rooms, including a balcony next to bedroom.
Magical .... three homes in one show? Wow ... they just keep getting better ... What a fun couple ... thanks for sharing. I hope we get to see more of them in the future.
I love when you run into people with such fantastic imaginations!! This definitely put a huge grin on my face! What a dream this couple have! The boot and it's warmth of color really floored me! Cozy! Great video!
Hello jen
*"That's boot-iful!"*
I see what you did 🤣😂 lol
Sharp Prakash, very sharp! 😊😊😊😊
😂😂
Hahaha! 😂
Prakash Meena .... 👢👞.... Lol 😆
That's amazing, they made a whole forest happen!
The philosophy of the McGuilligudy Serious party is super cool.
If I could go back in time and do my life over again I’d do it just as they have done. That is what I call living your life to the fullest and on your own terms. They truly live in a slice of heaven!
Carleen Stroh
yep!👌🏾
It's never too late!
You're probably their age when they made the boot. The life isn't over yet!
Wow Bryce! I've said this so many times, when I think you can't find another house that is as sweet, wonderful, weird, delightful & beautiful as the last, you do !! I would love to live in that shoe, after all I am an old lady of 60 so it fits !! LOL I've shared this on face book so all my friends can see this as well. Thank you so much for this channel. Everything about it is great, including you ! Your channel is my guilty pleasure ! Safe Travels & Happiness to you !
Thanks so much! Really glad that you enjoyed this one. You're not alone, I would totally move into this one too!
Living Big In A Tiny House I'd move into this one too although I need an Internet connection to work. This is in my top 3 now.
60 is not old!
ghlyall thank you for that....lol
Omg he needs to do a James and the Giant peach! Or the 3 little pigs houses.
YES! Great ideas!!
I love it!!! “If it’s going to be a boot, it has to be a proper boot!” 😉
Half way through the video and honestly in love with it already! You've really expanded from covering cookie cutter box-shaped tiny house to houses that are more works of art and much more an expression of each individual. It's simply lovely watching that growth of tiny houses themselves and your own story telling technique evolve through the years. Cheers Bryce!
Thank-you! We definitely are trying to find lots of really different homes so that we can get a full cross section of all the innovative ideas out there!
"I love how you've laid everything out in the footprint" -- OF THE SHOE HOUSE. I'm glad nobody was trying to sleep when I got to that, for as loudly as I laughed. What a great little place. But in all seriousness it's really cool to see his work with rammed earth construction, too. Fascinating.
Steve is amazing!! All of those tiny homes are perfection. Each one is beautiful, warm and inviting. The boot is out of this world. God bless Steve and his family.
Imagine what it looks like on Christmas 😂❤️
I absolutely love this boot house, but even more I love the whole property and their philosophy. What a diamond you found with this couple and their dreams. You provided another bucket list destination!
I found this in quarantine and I m literally binge watching them all!
😍🙆🏻
No more big mansions I just dream to live in a tiny house!💁🏻
Bryce: "I'm inpressed with the way you've laid out everything in its footprint". Literally it's footprint.
This is a fairy tale, you wanted a shoe and you built a shoe to live in. Love it!
Right wow
The best way to boot someone out of your property.
BECOME THE BOOT
I Saw A Bear 👏🏾😂😂😂
😂
I Saw A Bear hahahahaha
Hilarious! I needed a good laugh! 🤣😘Thank you! But this home is indeed awesome!
Hahaha!
That does it! I'm moving to New Zealand. Stunning works of livable art, inspired and inspiring. Wish the USA building codes would lighten up so we can begin to really enjoy life in affordably small, sustainable spaces. Bryce, you're amazing to scout out these treasures. So grateful.
***CDB**** I have the same wishes about Australian building regulations too *sigh
You may not realise but we generally complain all the time about our building codes...especially resource management consent... not sure it is really any better here? Bryce may be able to comment more.
You should do more research in the US. The building codes vary by county and there are many rural counties throughout the US that have very loose restrictions. If you go far enough outside city limits in a lot of counties, you can get away with building anything.
Warm boot curtains socks
In a few towns the regulations are being modified to pave the way for tiny homes, but it’s mostly temporary transitional homes for the homeless. Great idea but what about the rest of us? We’re going to have to team up to convince our City Councils and state legislatures to see the light!
I don't know why I binge watch these tiny home vids but it just makes me feel so cozy and childlike!
These people got what it means to be a creator in a lifetime. Thank you for this magic.
What an awesome man. He’s created such unique dwellings on his property.
The Jester House cafe is awesome as well. Love going there! I never got to see inside the boot. Now i have. Very cool!
I thought they rent it to guests
I LOVE this! This man and his wife are adorable!! Their creations are national treasures, hope their country recognizes that. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story of love, creativity and a new phrase to add to my vocabulary and teach my grandchildren..."If it's worth doing is worth doing humorously."
This “shoe house” is one if the best and most spacious Ive seen. It’s really pretty and livable!
All of these homes are gorgeous! So fun and amazing. And that property... oh my!
I held off watching this one thinking it would be too cute but..... These owners were so attractively real and lovely to hear and see. Thank you much.
Hello Marim, it's on my heart to tell you that Jesus loves you very much. And He has a place for you in heaven.
I can so relate to life is short at the moment. Just lost a dear friend, but like these folks he lived his life to the fullest. Beautiful, creative, lovely!
There is a camp in my state that has almost this exact thing as one of the cabins. They also have a pumpkin and a teapot and a few other things. It’s called storybook lodge.
Sondra, I believe that it's called Storytown, USA
Sounds amazing @Faylyn Hillier
There's a Story Book Lodge in N. Minnesota that's actually a Christian camp.
Where is it located? Share the adress please, I need to visit this place
too cool, i'm looking that up next
I am hooked on watching tiny house videos! So very interesting and I think this will be what people will live in, in the future!! It really makes you stop and think just how much stuff do you really need? And the freedom a person could have....while living in one, you wouldn't be spending out the rear for utilities and other stuff. Just think of the money you could save especially if you are off the grid and the time you could save in cleaning one!! I love these homes!!
This was time well spent! Three unusual homes, one interesting couple, and a philosophy of "the greatest amount of fun for the largest amount of people."
Someone give this couple a series of their own! So interesting 😊
Just love it. The exterior looks very magical but the interior was even more so. This man should start selling tiny houses with different shapes and designs.
The interiordesigns of these little houses are perfect. This man makes fairytales come true.
The entire property has a storybook nursery rhyme kind of theme. I absolutely love it!!!!!
Watched this one with a HUGE grin on my face! Love it and it has a HUGE bathroom!
Easily my favorite Rasa and Bryce vid. Super creative functional and occupied tiny houses, challenging fun. Thank you Steve and Judy.
I thought it was only the shoe house, but there were more and all the houses were so beautifully built. Even the decors and layouts were so nicely designed. And they just feel like home.
This house it's cute. There's no words.
There are, there are
O yes you are right
BELITEGA um you just said it, cute.
the forest he grows is every bit as impressive as the houses!
Wow, that man is amazing. Love all of the magical homes he built. It would be so cool to stay a night in each of them.
I love watching this program, but I loved the uniqueness of these tiny homes!
Lol "the boot *chuckles* the boot came about because we had a bit too much wine" bahahaha
Such a cute couple.
Meant to put the word chuckles in asterisks as she didny say that but did it
No one cares fuck off
😊😊😊😊😊😊 THANKS FOR BRINGING ME OUT OF A REALLY BÀD FUNK TODAY! I AM READY TO PACK MY BAGS AND FIND MY WAY TO YOUR
BEAUTIFUL LAND OF IMAGINATION! LOOK OUT NEW ZEALAND, I MAY BE THERE SOON!
There are a million different tiny home themed channels, but this is the only one I actually sit and watch all the way through. Other channels either ramble on for a long time about whatever they're talking about, have much lower production value, have bad audio quality, or just don't seem to care very much about what they're showing you. This channel is so good and the host is so endearing and nice to everyone he talks to. He doesn't get judgy towards any of the more quirky or eccentric people/designs, he asks relevant questions, and his girlfriend (I hope that's right) has an amazing talent for making visually beautiful videos. I have been binge watching this channel all week. Love it!
I haven't watch all but absolutely love it!
mee too 😂
Heee heee jamone
Agree to every part of it
He's got a good, basic formula that works and he doesn't babble on too much.
This is incredibly beautiful ❤️ love the view as well... I feel everyone who gets to live in a tiny house is so lucky... I wish this tiny house movement gains momentum in India as well.
There are three unique tinies in one. What a great couple. What a skilled pair of hands and creative mind that Steve has got.
This is just fabulous! All the houses are great and unique. And the grounds are fantastic! Those people are wonderful. Their ideas and their love of nature are super. The forest that they planted is an inspiration. If more people were like them, we would not have all those ecological problems. Thanks so much for the film.
So cool! We have a "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe" house too here in Pennsylvania, USA! Ours was built in 1948 completed in 1949 by Colonel Mahlon Nathaniel Haines who was the flamboyant "Shoe Wizard" for advertising purposes. He walked up to an architect and handed him an old work boot and said build him a house like the work boot! Love this one is a couples retreat, it looks like a great place to just get back to nature and no tv. Love it! love the lodge too, so cool that it is totally off grid.
Fascinating, captivating, intriguing, unique, humorous, and extremely relaxing: all essential components of another excellent episode! Bryce, many thanks to you and your partner for this wonderful and thought-provoking video about the McGillicuddy's homestead and their Boot. Absolutely love it!
Now, if only the 'real world' could be as randomly creative, without the majority, fighting back ! 😪😬😓
It is really a fairy tale. So amazing and the scene is wonderful and the layout is perfect.
I absolutely love the way the lady said they built the houses the way they liked without having to worry if someone else might not like it.Thats awesome!
This is totally off-grid fairytale life ! The Builder of this house is so much creative and still have his Dream of Childhood. The spot of this house is perfect. Incredibly beautiful .......!
It bugs me that you didn’t open that beautiful door beside the stairs of the boot house because everything’s so magical, we could’ve missed something! 😅
Lol I was wondering too about that secret closet! 😂
Patricia Anne it’s the bathroom.
Patricia Anne Passage way to Narnia...
Broom cupboard...and fire-lighting supplies etc.
Bathroom is in the back, behind the door with the green glass panels.
Love this! Life is short and with what is going on in the world right now it's nice to have this as a reminder to do what we love!
That's so cool! Love the details especially the end of the tongue of the boot being a little balcony. It's perfect!
Fantastic! I really like the second one with the rain catchment roof and solar power/water heating. 👏
Oh its beautiful😍
Love it Steve and wife , y’all did exactly what you should do with your own land ,which is whatever your heart ❤️ desire and you guys bring beauty and love to all you build ! Keep building 😀
WOW, This man has created a small little heaven of his own. Amazed.
Hello everyone!
Steve: you're an inspiration and a fun soul! A really beautiful set of homes! 😀
Judy: you remind me of my Grandmother, the one I loved dearly! You and Steve made me smile!
Rasa: how's that communication going? still watching Sci-Fi flicks or has it evolves a little? 😅
Bryce: I missed your laughter, and childlike wonder, so good to hear it and see once again! 😎
All in all, I think so much of this episode was one that made me smile the most... 😁
Cheers!
🖤🦇
this is, by far, the cutest of all the videos you've shared, Bryce! loved every minute of it! thanks for sharing! you guys are certainly an inspiration to all of us tiny house lovers! blessings! 💜
steve has transformed a barren land into an active community while bringing back nature by planting a forest. he's a charm! ♥ and wouldn't it be great if he made a few more tiny homes, each with different themes like a candy house, a doll house, a modern architectural, a tree house, a teapot? that'd be amazing for sure.
I loved it cause it’s really a fairy tale and nothing to compromise it’s got a lot of space and moreover they have s cute balcony aswell just perfectly a masterpiece project ❤️
amazing! three different and outstanding tiny houses in this video. nice locations with amazing views. thanks bryce for this great video. thumbs up
I've been watching this channel for a few months, and I love it..but this episode is like a triple death by chocolate cake with chocolate icecream in the middle..best episode ever
Hello janey
Your friend: Have you done anything interesting at the weekend?
You: Nothing too crazy. We just rented some old boot house and spent a weekend chilling out in front of the fire. You know... just your regular weekend... nothing too fancy.
Oooh I can’t wait to see an acorn house in a tree or the crooked house!
That boot was the perfect summer cottage, just amazing interior! ❤️
Thank you for sharing. Almost whimsical. 😎🇨🇦
Giant be like: hey there’s my shoe I was looking for that
The kid in me wants very badly to stay in the boot. Sooo cute! 🤗
This gentleman is a genius!! Most tiny house people are a specific breed and I really love and respect them, they’re so in-tuned with nature and a healthy mindset..I wish I could visit that whimsical village this couple has created.
Beautiful Boot House ❤️
This is so typically New Zealand, or at least it is the New Zealand I have grown up knowing, I fear it is slowly being eroded by property investors and people building to try and meet the desires of those who are going to come after them, long live good old Kiwi Ingenuity, lets hope we still have people and buildings like this for generations to come.
Awesome guy! Really creative. Love that say “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing humorously”
Cheers tiny house
Shout out to Dwayne. Such a talented builder artist and all others who contributed to the BOOT. Awesome place you have Steve & Judy.
These people know how to have fun.
Bryce your works is always outstanding but some how this segment more so! That couple and their work is profoundly inspirational and the same can be said of you.
By far one of the best interviews conducted on this channel. Love the honesty and this couples personalities ☺
It's very wonderful to see . Turning fantasy into reality. Live your dream and make it your own. God bless stay safe❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
