I have downsized and eliminated possessions but truly wish I had done this sooner in my life. To all of you young people, MAKE the change now! These people are inspiring 🙏💕
Yes I agree! I started when my kids were young and I was in my early thirties. I’ve now turned 40 and still find I need less and less. I am more able to enjoy the things we have. Just this avo we took a tea/ coffee set that we received as a wedding present, not once was it used in our 18 years of marriage! I wish we had started this sooner! I wish we hadn’t become burdened with so much in our 20’s! Debt clutter stress. Life is better without it all!
This family has more than minimal possessions. His turntable and audio components could be downsized to digital files and earphones. This home will be quite capacious for the three of them after the twins leave.
Interesting and beautiful home; a piece of art! My only “huh?!” moment was the owner’s comment on the commodification of homes being wrong. It’s great that he has the skills to build his home. Some of us don’t have that and while my home has not been built by me, it still lifts my spirit and is an expression of what matters to me.
@peggyrbaldwin My interpretation of his comments are that because for almost every homeowner the monetary value of the property is crucial to their networth and financial stability there's a tendency to think in financial terms rather than spiritual terms. That way of thinking comes into play in all sorts of ways when deciding about changes to the house or the grounds because the next investor in the commodity you currently reside in must be assumed to have conventional tastes while your tastes might be idiosyncratic.
This is my most favorite home you have ever showcased on your channel! I love that it sets an amazing example of how a family of 5 can live on a 1/4 acre section. It's aesthetically stunning, homely and grounding plus the property shows the potential to feed a whole family on. I'm so blown away and I feel this sets such a great standard of where we should be moving towards as a species. And the comment around the commodification of houses is so apt, so many people live in grossly over inflated homes that people end up working their whole lives to pay off. The rooms all downstairs reflect a tribal way of living and must create such a secure feeling for the children. I wish to manifest a beautiful home and property like this one so I can raise my family in. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
@@WobblesandBean And there speaks a voice of the times. I grew up in a house of 4 with only 1 bathroom, my brother more recently had 4 children and his wife, all one bathroom. Then going back a generation my father grew up with 6 siblings and his parents with one bathroom! It's a modern idea that we need multiple bathrooms to waste space and water in a home, at most we could have one bathroom and an extra loo. This is a stunningly beautiful home that I can see fulfilling all this families needs.
I grew up a family of 9 an old tin bath in a tin shed and an outhouse . Wd progressed to another farm with an indoor flush toilet and proper indoor bathroom with a separate shower room( we never used) running hit and cold water and a hand casino. Man we thought it was Christmas every day !!! LOL
Totalmente de acuerdo con todo lo que dices, está es mi casa favorita definitivamente, gusto ver cómo todos se les refleja en sus rostros la paz, el amor y sobretodo la felicidad que transmiten.
I live in USA. I think this house is the best. Tell your kids they have the best house ever. It's an amazing place to grow up. The outside is also amazing. All of it is beautiful. Love the imagination that turned this house into a spectacular place. So wonderful. 🎆
I really, really appreciate the inclusion of a non-traditional "tiny" home, where the principles and ethos are clearly there but while also showing alternative ways to live within that ethos!
I don't understand why people buy or build McMansions when they could live like this. To me, this is heaven. Gorgeous, gorgeous home and lovely family.
What a stunning, beautiful home, and a wonderful family enjoying it and thriving in it, like the plants in their amazing gardens. And Bryce, thank you for, as always, not only finding these gems, but taking us along for the visits and asking all the right questions so we can understand and appreciate everything better.
What a stunning house - and I love their belief that a house should be a home, a shelter and not a commodity. I would have loved to have seen more of their garden though - maybe we could have an update tour someday that includes more of that?
@@jamesengland7461I believe they mean that instead of thinking of a house as a financial investment, that you eventually hope to sell for a profit or use to be able to buy a bigger house, your house should be part of your actual being.
@mtzjotz that's an awfully moralistic meaning to pour into a building, and with it a lot of extra time and attention and money poured into making it so valuable, and into tying yourself up in it, only for it to wind up in the hands of others when you move or pass away.
@@jamesengland7461 I don't see it as moralistic -- it's their personal feeling about their home and what it is for their family. We downsized into a small home and I love our little house, but I'm not exactly where they are. However, I understand how they feel.
"Commoditization of housing is wrong"... truer words were never said. Such a beautiful Home in every sense of the word Home. This family puts the kind of energy into our world we all need. Thank you.
I love how each bedroom has a door directly to the outside! So freeing! When I was a kid, I would have absolutely loved that. (Not to mention the rest of this unique and gorgeous house.)
Wow, wow, wow! One of the most beautiful homes I’ve seen. Who needs fancy mansions when you have something small but gorgeous like this? I’d live here in a heart beat! What a talented family to build this gorgeous dwelling!

As a family of 5, with a pending teen, I LOVE seeing this home. It was hard to envision my family being happy in some of the other smaller home designs. This is a cleverly organized space. Gorgeous while not being overly done.
You said it all Bryce, an exceptional home and I agree about homes not being a commodity and putting love and care into them. This was by far, one of my favourite episodes. Tim and Carmen have built an incredibly beautiful living space and I'm envious of their gardens and good soil in NZ . We put so much into our soil here in West Oz and it just reverts back to sand each year
What a gorgeous family home. It truly looks and feels lived in. Not just a magazine picture of what a family home looks like but a real, cozy home with a lot of personality.
Tim and Carmen have created a true home, not a just house. Their philosophy about the commodification of houses is so true. This video highlighted what people can do when they respect the land and take things back to what a home is. It helps that it is in a stunning spot and that they have the knowledge to build something this spectacular.
I fell completely in love with Tiny Houses in 2010. Since that time, I have researced and viewed many different tiny homes. This particular Round Tiny House is by far the best of all. I say this because of my love of wood and gardening. The fact that they did this on a quarter acre of land inspired me so much on the inherited property that has been in my family since 1865!
All your hard work has really paid off! What an absolute beauty, both house and gardens! And sustainable! You deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor for many years to come!

An absolute gem of a home as well as an awesome family! This property blew me away with all of it’s unique features like the geometry of the floor and the way they’ve captured more natural light for downstairs, also the beautiful natural wood and environment without toxic materials. I love this house and the food garden is so cool. 😃
This is by far my favorite home and landscape after seeing hundreds of homes on UA-cam. Incredibly awesome and folks of such integrity. Love how they decorated too. Adopt me.❤
That is the most value packed quarter acre I've ever seen! The home is visually arresting and the food forest/decorative flowers add so much beauty and practical food production for them. Their home is so warm and inviting, so homey and has plenty of room for the five of them! I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing it!
This feels like there is peace and harmony here. I've always thought round houses are slightly awkward, like putting square pegs in round holes! But Carmen and Tim, you have put so much forethought (and mathematics) into everything, to build this lovely home. Thank you for sharing it with us. This is such a beautiful and creative beauty in every inch of an Artist's dream picture. Cozy warm very inviting. Old school, new school History modern. Totally comfortable. The colors are gorgeous. Great dreams for this home of family. 🕊️
This is an awesome home. These two hit the jackpot with each other - perfectly suited together, with the same ideals and work ethic, and such a lovely, peaceful vibe. I love their calming, beautiful home. I'll be honest, I've seen a few round houses in the region I live in (northern NSW, Australia) and they've not really been well thought out for liveability - so I was expecting this to be something of the same. But wow. The thought that has gone into the architecture, liveability and usefulness of the spaces is truly exceptional.
It still has a big kitchen! Windows are fantastic, but the kitchen is huge. To have land, grow plants, herbs, vegetables.. mmmm~ What a beautiful kitchen and beautiful home!
I agree with everyone in here who is stunned and has nothing but praise for this - EXCEPT for one thing, I would love to have a bit of privacy and there are no doors, not even to the children’s rooms. I think it’s important to be able to play the guitar and not disturbing the one in the next room at the same time - or just laugh or exchange and speak and cry or be intimate without everyone knowing it. But other than that, the whole house is gorgeous!!!!
A circular construction is such a genius architecture, and the living space is enormous. I like it. Wood is such a pretty building material and easy work with.
This doesn't even look like a tiny house! I can't believe what a price they built this for. And the scenery - magnificent. That garden is absolutely amazing. I would love a garden half the size. To not have to grocery shop for any veggies ever again - that would be a dream come true. What a gorgeous home Tim and Carment created for their family 😊
Love this home, it is absolutely wonderful. Tim and Carmen have created a beautiful place to live life to the full, growing organic food, caring for wildlife and the environment around them. We need more Tim and Carmen’s in this world. Thanks Bryce and Rasa for showing us these fabulous places.
I appreciate the notion that HOME isn't something to commercialise: This ties very nicely the microcosm with the macroeconomy, which is manifested everywhere in the place.
There are a bunch of kitset companies in the US and in BC, we took a bit of inspiration from all of them in our design process, @simplegroundlife have posted a bunch of their build process of a Smiling Woods Yurt in Washington State;

This house is on a whole other level, it's amazing.
Oh my. I LOVE this home! It doesn't look "tiny" and it looks very calming. What a wonderful space.
It's not tiny. It's standard size by floor area.
@@Kimoto504I tought I was the only one saying that.
60m2 with two floor=120m2 living space.
Considered BIG in Hungary.
@@Kimoto504 I don't think it's tiny. I'm just quoting tiny, because it's being featured on a tiny home channel..
I appreciate the notion that HOME isn't something to commercialise:
This ties very nicely the microcosm with the macroeconomy,
which is manifested everywhere in the place.
Oh, this is stunning! I am not used to seeing houses in this shape. I didn't realize this was even a thing, outside of yurts.
There is a company in the US that builds round homes - Deltec. I think they are in North Carolina.
There are a bunch of kitset companies in the US and in BC, we took a bit of inspiration from all of them in our design process, @simplegroundlife have posted a bunch of their build process of a Smiling Woods Yurt in Washington State;
Very cool !
Excellent!
@@creatingorganicspace Your home is beautiful! Thank you for sharing sources of kits in the US, especially for the Smiling Woods Yurts in Washington State. I am looking into one of their kits. Do you have your plans shared somewhere on the internet or in the digital realm? I am interested in basing my floor plan off of yours to a certain extent and wanted to use them to help me create my own plan.
I commented on the short video but I'll do it again here...this absolutely changed my mind on a round home..never thought I would actually be in awe of one, but this one did!!!!!! It is amazingly awesome!!!
Love it💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜(as I said in short vid, I love purple and have it the highest compliment with💜hearts!!!)
Bryce, your description of this as an exceptional place is spot on.🎯 So beautiful & purposeful. Thanks for sharing.
Such a magnificent philosophy for living and a truly wonderful home for life. Imagination and creativity abound in this glorious space. Thank you for sharing and allowing us a peak inside your world. 💚☘️🇮🇪
LOVED this home....feels so cozy and unique! Little proposal: i myself would love to see a little bit more of the gardens, especially if the families try to be self sufficient. I think this would be really interesting as well
...absolutely the coolest, most awesome house and family! Love everything about it and I want one LOL!!!!
Exceptional indeed, Bryce. Thank you guys for sharing it. I was mesmerized by this beautiful, circular home. A home like this requires the smarts to design and build it. Tim and Carmen are definitely not your average bears. They created an extraordinary design for their home and family to be enjoyed for many years to come. Kudos to you both!
One of the most beautiful homes and environments I have ever seen. Well done... happy days.
This home radiates energy the moment you step inside !
Such a gorgeous home! I love everything about it--the woodwork, the stones, the artwork, and overall design, all nested on a beautiful property with garden and trees. Such a wonderful place for your family. Thanks for sharing.

I grew up in NZ so am tuned into the accent, this couple had a very strong kiwi accent :)
THANK YOU, Carmen & Tim for sharing your incredible home with us -CONGRATULATIONS on your amazing design, very inspirational .👏🏻🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺
I've just now getting to learn more about round houses. From its smaller footprint to energy efficiency ( no straight walls for the wind and storms). Thanks for showing this incredible and awesome home!
The interior square footage to wall space optimizes your usage of building materials too.
Awe inspiring. I am totally captivated. What more can be said, a home like no other. And no TV....
This house is in GOLD medal position, in my mid, from al the LivingBigInATinyHouse so far. Spiritually, Aesthetically, Meaningfully the Biggest living house.Admire this family and people got involved in this project . Thanks so much for sharing this.💗
