This show may be awful for adults or people today. But some of us grew up with it in the late 80's-early 90's. Mario and Zelda were brand new... and back then it was awesome. If you look back at Captain N, Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Thundercats, Ghostbusters... even GI Joe and Transformers. They were all cheesy like this. But we woke up every morning to this stuff and loved and enjoyed it.
+Gnartic Warfare correction 13 episodes were made not 7. it aired for one season from August to November 1989 on Fridays only. even wikipedia even DVD box set of 3 DVDs even states that 13 were made. there were originally 20 episodes planned but reduced down to 13.
Mmmmmmm shut up and kiss me well picker up princess what the hell where these people thinking when making this game or movie or show whatever it is it’s so cringe I almost laughed at it but I couldnt
Ok, here's my take on it. No, it wasn't a "superb" show. But it was good for it's time. Sure it was lagged down by catch-phrases and redundant characterization that just repeated each episode and never really evolved, but I liked the show. Why? Because it did a WAY better animated interpretation of video game than "Captain N: The Game Master" ever did. It incorporated the monsters disappearing when defeated and leaving behind treasures to be collected, it showed how Link and Zelda were able to carry weapons around in magic pouches that shrunk the items. If it was from the game, they did a great job of incorporating it into the cartoon. Also, the fight sequences were good too. Clearly both Link and Zelda were excellent fighters and acrobatic ones at that; but it also made sure to show them as not being "invincible" good guys. On occassion they would drop their guard and almost get killed/captured and it wasn't demonstrated that they were "bungling heroes" like Inspector Gadget or whatever, but because they make mistakes, and get careless. Either way, at the time The Legend of Zelda cartoon was show I couldn't wait for to come on Friday. I totally ignored the Mario Bros. portion of the show.
+Scooby Loochie-Doo I just posted close to the same thing you did. This was when Zelda and Mario were brand new. And I did the same thing.. I think this was on Wednesdays or something. It was way better than Mario. I explained, this was pretty much how all of our cartoons were back in these days. They were cheesy, but enjoyable. I loved them.
Like you said this only aired every Friday afternoon, the rest of the week it was the super Mario super show, live action and animated. Those were great, but every Friday... just that intro and then this... amazing times

@adamproject9034 Actually Zelda did kiss Link on the Captain N crossover episode which aired on Saturday Mornings. Zelda and Link appeared in 4 episodes of Captain N. 🤔🤗⚔🔺
@@drewpamon Nope, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was release in 1987. This show is from 1988. And yes, it is a triangle, but it is made up of three parts, that's why it's called "The Triforce"
@@imix3d Regardless of what games existed at what time, the cartoon is based on the first installment in the franchise. It was a good cartoon. At least most of thought so in the 80's. Just not Zelda worthy. The biggest problem with this cartoon was the outfits and Link talked...way too much. He was not likable at all. Also, why is the triforce green?
That brown horse was definitely Epona. (Although there was no mention of the horse nor her name as of the time of this show -- I believe she debuted in OoT.)

I like how they use the sound effects from the original game

That is honestly a great insult.
