Ice Cream Stipend! Thank you for the Geology and Geography Tour!
You are such a sweetie! Thanks so much! If we ever meet on the road we'll treat you to ice cream.
Awesome megalith mining machines, everything next to them looked small. Very nice rock displays in their visitor center. Oh, and I did take notice of the Monkey bread and pumpkin bread you made with your omnia oven. I bet the aroma in the van was excruciatingly good!
I love the random flying saucer passing by on a flatbed trailer. You just never know what strange things you encounter when you're out in your rv!
I wish when I started doing video I had kept a folder with all the weird things we have seen on the road.
thank you ALL stay safe
I am so impressed with how you tell a story from the information you gather. Thank you for efforts.
It really is my pleasure. I learn so much from doing this.
Another interesting and lovely video. So many things to do in Arizona, you visit and share so many beautiful sites, thank you.
Fascinating video learning about the mine pit. Some great info about the Trust camping in Az. Thanks for sharing. Another on our list of adventures to explore and learn about 👍
Thank you for sharing your mining tour.
Very interesting video. I like it. 🙂
Great video. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your adventures! It’s giving me wonderful ideas for traveling in our Winnebago Travato. John
Interesting, some off the beaten path places, Arizona is very diverse, thanks for sharing, safe travels! 🌞🍀
Thank you D & J. Very informative, as always. Thank you for your tip on the AZ Trust Land process. As a resident of AZ, I remained ignorant to the permit process. BTW, also loved your Bisbee video.
John was born and raised in AZ but hadn’t visited any of these places.
You’re getting close to Green Valley, my winter home Love that area.
You're donw near whre I lived for a bit, Green Valley, Az. Thanks for the tour of the mine and Tubac(love their art work). Thanks also for the scoop on Trust Land. I just went through Joshua Tree and flowers are blooming.
We're heading for the desert next week in hopes of seeing some flowers too; hoping the crowds aren't too bad.
Very nice, Thanks
Great video! It's my "backyard" and I've never spent any time there!
What a wonderful visit to the mine. Thank you for sharing the amazing experience. Safe travels.
Always great and useful information. As always, thanks for taking us along on your journeys.
Those rocks cut look beautiful. Very interesting area you get to visit. That thorny thing in your shoe, we in Australia have a Prickly Pear with thorn like that and oh boy do they hurt when you stand on one, also have to use the pliers to pull them out.
Would love to visit Australia some time.
Great trip we are duplicating your route after our Chiricahua N M visit. We just did Gila Cliff NM and Silver City NM. Also doing Shakespeare ghost town . Happy Trails Jeff and Liz
Sounds awesome. I guess things finally warmed up. Beautiful here in Borrego Springs.
Cool video! I bought a rock polisher/ tumbler from wally world to try out on my camping trips.
I’m assuming you’ll operate at home because it takes weeks for the process. I’m also thinking of getting a tumbler.
Love watching your videos. My wife and I Just bought Coachman Nova van. Hope to meet you two on the road sometime. You were definitely the influencers in our van buying decision.
Hope you are having a great time in your rig.
As usual a great video. Have you ever been to the Kennicott open pit mine near Salt Lake City? It is massive. Stay safe and drive carefully. I will see you on UA-cam!
No, but we've been to the Kennicott mine in Alaska. That's pretty cool. We try to avoid SLC because of the traffic but will take a look to see where the mine is. Thanks.
Another beautiful and interesting video. Your cut and polished rocks are stunning. Would like to hear more about your rock hound club and the activities you do with them. Safe travels.
Only been to one meeting so far but will share more down the road.
Thinking of you and your family in South Lake Tahoe. It’s a winter season for the history books….😮😅
Thanks Liz. Our son said many of the markets have closed because of structural concerns. What a winter!
@@FromShetoMe ❤️let’s hope things improve soon
Aggghh I do not like cholla cactus. They can puncture tires. And certainly, got your shoe! Tubac looks amazing!
Learning, inspiring,having fun !
Thank you for all above and much more!❤️❤️
I have never asked Debbie...do you have a degree in Geology?
Love you rock collecton.
...John always looks so stylish.
Looking forward to the next Sunday.
My BS was in Earth Science (but almost all my classes were in geology), not Geology because the head of the department told me I couldn't major in Geology because girls weren't allowed to do the final course which is summer field. Times sure have changed. In High School my sister was not allowed to take Calculus. But that's ok, I've had an amazing life.
Check to make sure the low priced diesel is a blend rather than high mileage real #2. Especially true in CA where I use Valero as often as possible.
I wish the stations would share more info. But if it is clear that it is B20, then we move on.
FYI - Mercedes Sprinter (?) Mercedes Benz does not allow diesel fuels containing greater than 5% biodiesel (B5) due to concerns about "production shortcomings".[36] Any damages caused by the use of such non-approved fuels will not be covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.
Blends of biodiesel and conventional hydrocarbon-based diesel are most commonly distributed for use in the retail diesel fuel marketplace. Much of the world uses a system known as the "B" factor to state the amount of biodiesel in any fuel mix:[7]
100% biodiesel is referred to as B100
20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel is labeled B20[4]
7% biodiesel, 93% petrodiesel is labeled B7
5% biodiesel, 95% petrodiesel is labeled B5
2% biodiesel, 98% petrodiesel is labeled B2
Is B2 = #2 Diesel?
@@NelloCambelli I wondered where the number 2 came from. Although I thought they could use as much as 5%.
@@NelloCambelli Yes, but they’d have a hard time defending that position in court. Especially in states like Minnesota that only sell B20, which is why we avoided it on our trip last summer.
How come it is YOU, Deb, that finds the goat heads and cholla?? LOL Interesting trip, and I bet the mine was well worth it. Thanks for the tip about AZ Trust Land. Colorado has about the same thing, permits available from DOW offices. Until next time... Travel safe.
You forgot the link for the online Trust Lands permit. (or I missed it.... {probably that})
Thank you. I completely forgot. And thanks for the info on Colorado.
Great and different video. Is the copper mine the one behind the mitigation berm on the way to Organ Pipe? Will have to do the tour. Enjoyed the music. It was playful- perfect for a video spawned by curiosity. Have you been to the Copper Museum outside Jerome? Tucumcori is definitely worth a visit too. Safe travels
This mine is just 15 miles south of Tucson. The one in Ajo is closed. Yes, we did the museum near Jerome and really enjoyed it.
@@FromShetoMe We have some RV friends who bought a Casita near there. We’ll have to tour when we visit them
Why not in summer … we are … have ditched San Deigo leg of our trip in favour of Phoenix 😂😂😂😂. Can’t get enough heat😂😂😂😂
Only crazy Kiwis and Germans do that!😊
Interesting mine visit, so many things to see while out rving. Thanks for the information on Arizona Trust Land. Also your son’s video of the snow in Lake Tahoe was amazing ! Off topic can you tell me what size Obie pockets do you have on the back of the kitchen cabinets.
I’ll try to remember to measure them tomorrow. If I forget, please send a reminder.
10" by 24"
@@FromShetoMe Thank you!
I think you should skip the transit and get one of the dump truck and build it out. Will be great for all you off tossing! 😉….Have you ever been to Flaming Gorge? Interesting rock formations and the gorge. Manila UT
Seems more like your style. More like a superC. 😅 Haven’t been to the gorge. We’ll meet you there.
@@FromShetoMe I had my Super C and done with that part of my life. Small and simple is the future if I can ever get my van! 😂 Will let you know when I am planning on the gorge adventure again. One special road there that’s rough, but worth the views.
So, we’re sitting the enjoying another trip with Debbie and John, when, at 3:45 you overdub with “Every one of our journeys begins with curiosity.” I paused, astonished at the simplicity of the feeling I’ve tried to express to others when describing our aimless wanderings.
One word to describe a wide breadth of experiences and emotions. A word I’ve used often, but never thought to describe that need to wander and wonder. So simple, yet perfect!
We take delivery of our new Oliver trailer in 17 days, and while neither Deb nor I have ever named our vehicles or our teardrop, I now know without a doubt what we’ll name the Oliver.
Thank you!
You’re so welcome! The realization just came to me as I was thinking about why we do what we do. It kind of changes the way we think about our travels.
Debbie, I thought I’d replied early, but it doesn’t show up. We’ve had a pretty amazing couple of weeks. After the epiphany prompted by your “Curiosity” narration, we’ve wholeheartedly accepted that no other name befits our new Oliver trailer. We leave tomorrow to visit the factory to take delivery.
In looking for artwork inspiration, I came upon the perfect design by a software company in Ireland. I wrote to the company asking permission to use their graphics, expecting “no”, or no response at all.
Instead, not only did they approve, but enthusiastically, and want to include our stories in their social media. Crazy!!! They sent vector graphics for printing, and Robin at Banana Banners is making them for us.
All this inspired by your simple overdub about “Every one of our journeys begin with curiosity” Thank you!! If you’re interested in seeing a mock-up, contact me privately via one of our bio connections.
@@Steve_and_Deb_Explore_the_USA LOL. I don't know what a bio connection is but if it is some other social media platform, I don't do any of them. But I would love to see the graphics. energymaven@gmail.com
I’m seeing lots of warnings about rodents getting into the engine compartments in the desert areas. Have you done anything to deter them? Thanks 🙏🏻
No. We think we had one once. But I don’t like the lights people put under their rigs when in campgrounds because it ruins the night sky for others.
On a completely unrelated destination topic ….. have you guys ever been to Put-in-Bay ?
Never heard of it. Will have to look it up. Thanks
@@FromShetoMe I think/hope that you guys should really like this place.
Just looked it up. Looks beautiful. I grew up in Cincinnati but never heard of it.
It is a very charming small island on Lake Erie that you take a short vehicle ferry ride to get to. Lots of RV places.
“Begins with curiosity” ….. “What will we discover” ….. “What challenges” ….. “What lessons will we learn”. Just what are you guys trying to do ….. get the most out of life ????
LOL. Guilty as charged.
Words of wisdom. Rocks turned out beautifully. Thanks again for another interesting and well made video. 👍
Trust you went to Titan Missile Museum
No we didn't but it's nice to save things for the next time you visit.
You have used an awning that is separate from the the attached van awning. Could you share where you purchased it or what the brand is?
It is a Moonshade by Moonfab. Here is my affiliate link, I think it will get you $30 off: moonfab.com?sca_ref=2840305.8fOH1OGxFf
Thank you. Recently bought my class B only to discover it has a recall on the awning so I thought of your awning setup.
@@bevbender3587 The recall was a few years ago. I’m surprised yours hadn’t already been fixed.
@@FromShetoMe It’s ongoing. Bought a 2023 Thor Rize 18M two weeks ago and dealer said mine was affected by the recall. The Carefree Awning is the problem as it may deploy on its own. It’s installed on the class B on both the Winnebagos and Thors. So mine is zip tied and the fuse is removed until there is a manufacturer remedy. That’s why I was following up on the awning you used as it would provide shade until this awning is fixed. Do you not open your awning at all and strictly use the moonshade?
@@bevbender3587 we rarely use it because the slightest winds make it retract. I’m surprised that brand doesn’t have a fix. Ours is a Fiona.
FSTM ;;;;;;HELLO,DEBBIE,&JOHN,NICE AREA,COPPER MINE,interesting,,in JAMAICA&,other BANANA PRODUCING AREAS use COPPER SULFATE,to make a certain mix to spray,on their trees for banana borers & other insects,, , then, there is COPPER WIRES
Yes, I sometimes use that on my fruit trees as well.
