    Thank you for featuring this amazing company. We visited their facility this summer to have our side screen installed. What a difference their screen made as compared to the hassle of the factory equipped screen door. We thank Rolef every time we enter and exit our van!

    FSTM,,, HELLO, DEBBIE &JOHN,,,YOUR TRIP TO NS,was timed just right, as hurricane FIONA CLOBBERED THEM BADLY, The folks in MONTREAL, that storage unit for seat back, was fabulous
    so we’re the screens, imagine a hammock!, DEBBIE, if I were you, I would go with some mini splits units, as opposed to a DUCTED SYSTEM,, they also make heat pump units, so heat from same unit, STAT WELL,GOD BLESS,,,,,,,,,,;;;;🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    Thanks for profiling this great company. We already had two of their products but waited until the rally in NB to get a couple more
    we were even more impressed with them after seeing them in action at the rally.
    Our sliding door screen had been installed by Canadream and the Rolef team were not ok with the quality of the installation. They insisted on reinstalling. No cost to us They really stand behind their products and make sure everything is perfect.
    Now we want to get the back door organizers. We will visit their new factory for that. 😀

    Fantastic vlog! Wow! Thanks for battling Montreal traffic to show us Rolef! We did a road trip in the east and drove into Montreal at 10pm in a downpour that rivalled African downpours! Every other car had orange flashers on.

    I've been told, by more than one person actually, that I have a bit of an anal retentive personality. I'm also particular about my van. So when my wife and I decided to get side and rear screens for Lily, our custom built 170 extended, XD, dually, 4x4 Sprinter, the only real question was whether to have Rolef install them or have them shipped to the States and I find an installer. That was also no brainer. Road trip!
    So last July even with the average price of diesel approaching $6 USD I headed off to Montreal (I managed not to buy any fuel in Canada). Round trip home to Rolef Solution is 1,810 miles but I managed to do it in a little over 2,800🙂
    Even though all the measurements and pictures of my van had been exchanged, Rolef and Agatha still made little tweaks so my slider screen fit perfectly and securely. I'm so glad i spent the diesel to have them installed by the makers. Oh, and I bought one of those new design back seat organizers too.
    Rolef. The best Solution.

    Debbie, just saw the most interesting video about refrigerators and I know you are getting a new van so might give you new ideas. It's on Rv lifestyle and it's called Everything about your RV fridge and it's recent, when I saw it I thought of you and John and figured it would not be too late for you to decide on your fridge for the new van.

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks Kathy. We are definitely going with a compressor fridge in our new rig. We replaced the absorption fridge in our rig after one year of struggles with it. This guy did a good job of explaining why the absorption fridge should go the way of the 8 track tape.

    We absolutely LOVE our screens. The installation was work but technically easy. Rolef's videos are very good.
    Our only regret is that we did not get our back curtain custom. After installing it we discovered that the screen comes down too far and so the straps to hold up the basement cover are too low. Just something for anyone ordering their curtains to be aware of.
    Like you, we used magnets and panels for years all the while lusting for but not ready to pay for the Rolefs! Once we did, they are terrific. Well worth the cost.
    On another note, we must be somewhat kindred. Sprinter van (self built), Rolef screens, Agile RIP package and a few other things. Would be fun to meet up sometime.

    Very happy to come across your video about this wonderful Canadian company whose products I will definitely buy for my Sprinter van. But now I would like to inquire about your awning which looks like a tent attached to the sliding door of your van. It looks pretty good. If it can be purchased somewhere, I will let go an expensive awning that will be mounted on my van. Could you please respond to my inquiry? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Great video. After the rally in St. John, Agathe wasn’t happy with how my sliding door screen fit and invited me to the shop to have it adjusted. They removed it, she cut it, re-sewed it and re-installed. What amazing customer service.
    I noticed you hit the nasty Montreal traffic. I used to live there. I took the north shore to avoid it. Not as scenic but that infamous construction has been going on for about 10 years. Hope you got to visit the city. 😊

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  2 роки тому +1

      Good ole traffic. I guess being from SoCal, we didn't find it too awful but we do try to time our driving to avoid major cities. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to see the city. But I have a feeling we'll be back to get more products from Rolef if we ever get our new van.

    I do have a question - on several of your videos i have caught site of a tray table mounted between the captain chairs up front but i have not seen any mention of this. Can you provide more detail as i think this might be a useful upgrade for my Sprinter.

      Thanks Carl. I got the cup holder from here: cavevan.myshopify.com/products/sprinter-cupholder-snack-tray-bamboo-and-stainless
      It is quite pricey. I actually got a "second" that was in perfect condition but I don't think they are available any more. And I've seen other people make them. If you have any woodworking skills at all, it should be fairly simple. Google images has lots of interesting photos if you use the search term: "sprinter cupholder solutions" It also depends on which year sprinter you have. Ours is a 2016 chassis. The new models have a different dash configuration and much better cupholders.

    "Cottage industries" are the backbone of innovation for almost any aspect of special pursuits, such as overlanding and camping/exploring as just two examples. Without them we would all be forced to buy cheaply made goods from mega outlets like Amazon and Walmart. Certainly Amazon and Walmart serve a convenient function, but I always try to buy from the entrepreneurs, such as the Roll-a-Cot that your brother manufactures.

    A little specialized for our RV, but who knows for the future. Since Fiona last week we have traveled through New Hampshire and Vermont enjoying the beginnings of Fall colors, covered bridges, the White and Green Mtns. We took the Cog Railway to the top of Mt. Washington. Yes it is pricey, but it commemorates the 50 years since I climbed it in 1972. We toured the Ben & Jerry’s factory. Yesterday we took the history tour of Trapp Lodge of Sound of Music fame. Today we cross back into Canada coincidentally to Montreal. Unexpectedly, we have decided to head to Winnebago in Iowa to have them repair our accumulated problems. Maybe your Iowa video will be released then… Enjoy Grand Canyon!
