Namaste! It was a beautiful natural soundscape. I practiced on June 6, 2024 at 4 A.M. I loved the detail of the body scan, and I enjoyed the ling lauses as we breathed at each one of the portals for the state of yoga nidra at the different chakras. It's funny that I did this practice after Tracee Stanley's mention of these, which is very reminiscent of the instructions of the Himalayan tradition. The training has been a reminder to return to my own practice for all of the benefits you mentioned.

You were guiding me through breathing in and out through my trillions of cells and very suddenly and calmly everything went white and I was weightless. It’s a snowed in day in the foothills of the Rockies just a bit west of Boulder, Colorado. I was so excited to see a new yoga nidra to further help me enjoy the peace and profound quiet of these snowed in days. First, I would say the sound quality was excellent. Towards the end of the guidance when you said dissolve into your breath, I heard the jungle sounds, and felt as if I were transported into the jungle. I have received several of the long-term benefits you mentioned from this practice. The one I most value, and the one that has allowed me to take more joy in my life, is emotional resilience. I find that almost nothing upsets me anymore, and that I do not question the appropriateness of my response to challenging interactions. One quick question. Occasionally in the yoga nidras I actually fall asleep without noticing it until I awake to the sound of your voice and realize I have missed the last 5 or so minutes of your guidance. Should I strive to prevent this from happening, or should I accept this as part of “your body will know what it needs.”
That's wonderful to hear about how the practice has brought more emotional resilience, so powerful. And YES! Trust your body that this is what's needed, and also you may notice that there is some trace awareness in that deep sleep over time as well.
Really happy I could complete this one without my body getting restless. (my CFS is like that sometimes when I didn't have enough sleep) I've gotten to love the jungle sound nidras of yours. I have been practicing yoga nidra for a few years now, and I do them daily or even a few times per day. Since I have sleep problems and neuro-immune trouble, they help me to get through the day and give me some rest and a more clear mind. A part from that, they help with difficult emotions, mourning my former life and give me more peace, acceptance and trust in myself.
I’ve been using your videos for a few months (I have long covid and really struggle with falling asleep and resting well) - today I felt for the first time that I was able to observe my breathing without controlling it, and really fully felt that I experienced rest and awareness at the same time! This was beautiful Ally! I went so deep and felt like the timely appearance of the howler monkeys cleared out all the negative energy from the sacral chakra portal. I found myself floating in deep spaciousness feeling so vast and one with the rainforest. 🙏

A positive effect I have noticed oddly was at the dentist yesterday, when I actually managed to ground myself and relax imagining being at the foot of my favourite Grandmother tree in the wood behind our cottage, my visualisation seemed extremely vivid and so grounding….so helpful to me. Wonderful. Sometimes low tech is better tech. The sounds were incredible. Throughout the practice I imagined you sitting on a mossy spot in the rainforest like the Fairy Queen with all the birds and forest creatures coming to surround you as they sat there to listen to your gentle voice and enjoy the nidra with us! Yoga nidra has definitely reduced my stress levels and perhaps enhanced my imagination.....warm hugs to you sweet sister!

Hi Ally, I have been practicing Yoga Nidra for about two months now. Lately I have been experiencing my body tensing up during the practice and outside the practice. Can you give me advice on how to deal with this? I have been doing three one hour sessions daily. Is that too much?
I‘m so frustrated. Everybody seems to experience astonishing relaxation with Yoga Nidra. I’ve been practicing with Ally‘s recordings maybe 200? 300? times now and I‘m neither able to concentrate nor to relaxe. Normally I end them prematurely cause I get in my head too much and I feel more worked up than ever. The soothing voice makes me even more aware that I am stressed out and not relaxing. I know that I have a very traumatized nervous system but GUYS, I cant be the only one struggling with this?!?

Wonderful. Sometimes low tech is better tech. The sounds were incredible. Throughout the practice I imagined you sitting on a mossy spot in the rainforest like the Fairy Queen with all the birds and forest creatures coming to surround you as they sat there to listen to your gentle voice and enjoy the nidra with us! Yoga nidra has definitely reduced my stress levels and perhaps enhanced my imagination.....warm hugs to you sweet sister!
Awe, I love that visual. I was definitely enjoying watching the hummingbirds especially. I normally have my eyes closed when guiding but I had so take it all in 💜

Hi Ally, I have been practicing Yoga Nidra for about two months now. Lately I have been experiencing my body tensing up during the practice and outside the practice. Can you give me advice on how to deal with this? I have been doing three one hour sessions daily. Is that too much?

I‘m so frustrated. Everybody seems to experience astonishing relaxation with Yoga Nidra.
I’ve been practicing with Ally‘s recordings maybe 200? 300? times now and I‘m neither able to concentrate nor to relaxe. Normally I end them prematurely cause I get in my head too much and I feel more worked up than ever. The soothing voice makes me even more aware that I am stressed out and not relaxing. I know that I have a very traumatized nervous system but GUYS, I cant be the only one struggling with this?!?
Took me a ĺooong time but finally getting into deeper relaxation.
How should you react if you get disturbed by someone during a session?
