Duston is so cool for a concept that is completely jank, i love their artworks and its so funny the best monsters on the arquetype is a recruiter and a vanilla monster
It kind of sucks MBT didn't utilize the white dustons at all. Cimo was actually kind of right that white duston breaks dustons specifically. You can flood your opponents board with all of the brick dustons while you put 3 white dustons (which are vanilla monsters) and 1 house duston on your side of the field, which allows for xyz plays. 13 and 31 are crazy because they force your opponent to attack into them every turn for 4 turns straight, and your opponent takes the battle damage from the battle; same idea with Lion heart. Mbt also didn't bring an anti spell fragrance to complete the starduston lock or a 1 of one-for-one for added consistency.
@Kid Umby it didn't sound like he pulled a list when he was explaining the deck list, my bad. I know he usually pulls from deck lists that have gotten tops, which obviously duston never has
@@Shlippies You're fine lmao, I'm just saying they usually get lists from elsewhere for this - in the case of Jank, I think the recent ones are patron picks or what-have-you.
Yeah, Duston is actually relatively consistent and not so bad ... if we ignore that with link summoning they did become completely useless as now they can just be linked away xD Also Stygian Security can be utilized special summon House Duston from the deck and even if the card is on the field, it's both a monster you can use for XYZ summons and a monster that boosts your Goblin Kings ATK as it's also a fiend. Battle Fader is also one of those cards that can let you stall for a bit and if it's on the field, it still gives your Goblin King +1000 ATK ... And I'm really wondering ... why did he play the Dustons in ATK position? The only one that needs to be face up for their effect, is House Duston ... all the other ones are completely useless in ATK position and should never be played and only set ... Was certainly one of the weaker representations of a deck, that isn't actually bad ...
Slap the similar pendulum effect to Qli monsters onto them and they will be perfect. Imagine giving the opponent a scale 0 Duston and a scale 2 Duston (to summon all level 1 Dustons normally) that say "You cannot special summon other monsters, except "Duston" monsters." and watch them burn.
@@sekaihunter9378 Konami would do that, and put "if this card is removed from the pendulum zones and this card isn't on the field of its original owner, you win the duel" on both scales, and probably make it so the scales blow up on the end phase of your opponent's next turn.

This is what I love about Yu-Gi-Oh. No other card game could even think to have something as stupid (in a good way) as Dustons. The variety in play styles that it provides is unmatched. You've got Flower Cardians, Skull Servants, Ghostricks and a myriad of other decks that play in very unique ways. Are they good? No. But if you're gonna be bad, then at least be fun.
I never thought i would find an old archetype that i didn't know existed till now after playing the game for so long. I can only imagine how obscure that duston deck is.
Glad Joseph went for this list, that game two was so funny. I actually sent in two Duston lists: this one and a chain burn one. The burn one is just chain burn where you sit on Starduston but the Goblin King was way funnier
On the one hand, I'm glad that the Cologne Gem-Knight Deck was here, since Princess Cologne is my favourite card of all time so I'm happy that it's had *any* amount of play in competitive yugioh. On the other hand, Cologne herself was never summoned and the Duston Deck was kinda cool lmao.
I love Dustons. Been playing them in on Master Duel in the Xyz festival just for laugh, because there's no links in there. There's actually a lot of tech cards you can implement around level 1s, like Kinka-Byo to make some Xyz or Mermaid Shark to search Silent Wobby to have something to crash on. I was surprised this decklist wasn't on Stygian Security too, because it's just one more float into House.
alex had a sick ass play in game 1, fusion with Sapphire and lazuli to make amethyst, returning sapphire, normal box of friends, use dark hole, trigger box fo friends then amethyst to clear his field, bounce his backrow and special a sapphire and garnet. return fusion and fuse the obsidian and sapphire in hand to make zirconica, trigger obsidian to special sapphire, overlay the sapphire for a rank 4 and then 1900+2800+the rank 4's attack worth of damage and sit on a decently practical board. he could also then fuse into citrine next turn to stop house going off then go for game (although josef wouldve reset compulse by then. also idk if he had gagaga samurai in his ectra but that wouldve been an otk
I love Dustons and I really wish they'd get new support to stop Link Summons. A Link 1 or a field spell would be insane for this archetype. Doesn't help that this deck isn't playing Stygian Security or Street Patrol, which both recruit House Duston making it's need to be face up less of an issue. That being said, I am pretty happy these sorts of decks finally have a viable successor in Kashtira. The new support can often shut down 4 or even 5 of your opponent's zones as long as you have a good enough hand to play the level 4 after summoning the xyz
