    That was awesome!
    I’d personally love to see a comparison video of pe4/5 kingfish/tuna style stickbait rods as it’s hard to find much information online.
    Cheers

    Great and informative videos mate, cant beat visually seeling a rod flex and why compared to looking at a picture online. Is there a reason why most casting rods have the stripper guide backwards?

    • @fishheadtackle
      @fishheadtackle  6 місяців тому

      Hi, thanks for the support! The reverse stripper guide or bottom 2 guides reversed is for rods using the Fuji MN style frames (or other similar shape frames). Reversing the guide puts the 2 legs facing forwards, which reduces the problem of braid casting/wind knots. It doesn't stop the issue all together, but it does make it harder for the braid to hitch a loop around the guide during the cast.

    Really glad I discovered you mate. I recently bought a poseidon ocean hunter pe 2-4. What do you think of the rod? Is it worth the pricetag? I want to use it for pelagics. Thanks mate

      Hi, I haven't personally used the Evergreen Poseidon Ocean Hunter rods, but I have heard that they are good light/medium tackle rods for pelagic fishing

    Hey Duncan Im torn between two rods tobizo or accura for a all rounder for medium size gt? Any suggestions

    • @fishheadtackle
      @fishheadtackle  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi, The Tobizo is the ideal boat rod series for GT with the best straight up and down lifting power, while the Accura is more shore specific with the extra length to handle most ocean rock fishing locations. If you have good deep ledges that allow the use of the shorter boat style rods from the shore, then rods like the Tobizo will give you the best chance of landing a good sized GT. However if your shore fishing features lots of shallow obstacles that require a longer rod to maneuver around or manage the line successfully, then the heavier Accura rods will be the best choice.

    Hey Duncan, really great and informative video! though I got a question, me and a couple of my mates are going to Indonesia in a couple of months, do you think a rod that is rated pe4-6 would be strong enough to handle GT? Sorry if this is a silly question, but we are new to GT fishing so we just wanted to make sure we buy the right setup.

    • @fishheadtackle
      @fishheadtackle  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi, Plenty of GTs have been caught on PE4-6 rods (even some pretty huge ones), but it depends a lot on the terrain that you are fishing and how ambitious you are to catch a big one. Big lures can balance large hooks which help you land big GTs and those big lures are best thrown on heavier PE8-10 tackle. If you are looking to catch a bit of everything, then a PE4-6 rod might be the ideal versatile option. If you are doing a serious 'GT trip' then I would gear up with heavier tackle designed for GTs specifically.
