- Honest TLDR for this review of Eu4 Domination?
4/10 Could have been worse but I am not impressed. I mostly agree with the mixed rating on the steam workshop.

I got used to the music while editing, but damn it’s too loud looking back now. I will do better next time, but I cannot exactly fix it with the UA-cam edit tools.
Music is too loud to hear you clearly at certain points
Yeah you are right, got ‘used’ to it while editing but looking back now should have been quieter. I will learn from this mistake, I hope :)

In their defense, the game code is already there, if you ever do go for modding, you find that in many cases its literally 'if flag DLC x is enabled, do this, if not, do something else'.
I'm still sad that Persia still doesn't have a mission tree
According to the dev diaries, the Middle East will be the focus of the next DLC

Still the middle east and China (at least they got something) actually needed their missions updated not like all of the countries in this dlc except the ottomans and ming
Also I won't buy that dlc either

Yeah I noticed actually after rewatching the upload it was a touch too bad, while editing it and re-hearing every segment I got used it almost but I think like 10 quieter would have been perfect. Well, I can claim I am still learning, hope you enjoyed non the less.
Captions may be an idea, I have a script for this (I know, I am surprised myself) so hopefully it won't be that bad to add)

Fair enough, but it did get fixed :(
The dlc is quite ambitious but it feels so unpolished. The bugs aside. A lot of missions degenerate into busy work. Also some missions really only meant for some specific way to complete. For example. Republic Russia has to pay streltsy every times you elect a new ruler
This isn't my personal assessment but looking back on it now, its a lot more 'Hoi4 esc' in the way that certain countries now have to follow a specific paths or focus tree or really suffer from not doing that, which I personally dislike in a more 'open' game like Eu4.
Can you please turn down the music next time? You have to focus a lot inorder to hear you over the music

Just gonna buy it off a 3rd party site for cheap. Hopefully someone puts out the pre-order music as a mod on the steam workshop.
Legally, piracy bad etc etc. But I got the DLC and when I rolled back to 1.34 for an MP campaign I noticed I kept the music which is actually pretty neat, so the game doesn’t check for DLC for that music.

Sounds like they're less focused on improving the game and more focused on charging $20 for dumb gimmicks that no one ever asked for or needed.
Yeah, I do wish there was more unique stuff for modding purposes outside of a Westernization bar and a re-textured one for the Ottos

@@LemonCake101I don’t remember if you covered it on here, but the domination custom nation ideas are still nonfunctional lmao. You can find them in the files and they are unfinished. The entire text file is commented out, if you are familiar with the term. (The entire file is turned into a bunch of lines of comments rather than functional code), and some national ideas use the wrong modifier and sign despite the modifiers existing in the code.
@@dr0g_Oakblood oh do they? I don't touch the custom nation code, pretty much ever, but that sounds like something pdx would do
@@LemonCake101yeah I thought something was up when I saw Arumba’s latest custom ideas game using a mod that adjusted Custom Nation ideas and IIRC it had the Domination ones, so I got curious and logged into the game and couldn’t see them, so I checked the game files and come to find out, non-functional and unfinished. It only took me like 5 min to fix them, but of course that counts as “modification” and blocks achievements. Quite sad. I submitted a request to PDX bug fix forums, but nothing done so far.
