  • Major water leak on driver side 2013 JKU. Don't know how long problem was there because of the thick rubber floormats covering up the carpets. After much forum reading, UA-cam viewing and tiral/error I think I found the source of my problem.

glad you figured it out, and shared the solution with everyone else who may have the same problem.
I've only ever had one car which suffered a serious leak (it was a VW). It's problem was that water was being channeled behind the dash from the passenger-side front wheel arch (go through a puddle, and it was ram-scooping water directly into the car behind the dash, spewing out into the passenger-side front footwell).
The only "workaround" I could do was to poke holes through the floor under the carpet in the foot well, but that wasn't so great either.
Best thing I ever did was scrap that car! Never buying VW again!

My stepdad had an old CJ back in the 80s. I currently have a 01 TJ. Which leaked around the air intake for the AC unit on the passenger side. I had to pull the old gasket off and reseal around it. Its disappointing to see that Jeeps still suffer from leak issues from the factory.

Jeep did offer a weather seal replacement for leak issues at the dealer... FREE I didn't have this leak, but they did replace seals and added some rubber up there.

Oh, you are alive. That is good. That must be annoying to have a leak in the car. I like my simple boring car. Doubtful it would ever leak since it is a very simple and boring trim and roof.

Lovely car! I drive a 10 year old Land Rover Defender. Have spent the last 6 months finding all the leak holes.. I found silicon window sealant worked best to fill the gaps... Think I'm finally there 😀

Oh, I love you car. The coyote color is just perfect to the blue metal. I´d love to have one, but I am stuck with a Volvo. Not even 4x4... I miss those times in my 4x4rs in the bush. Great video, anyway, and nice to see you back Greetings from Sweden!

Hi Roz, to seal such leaks Sugru coul'd be a very good material. You can get in in diffrent colors and mix it in much more. Greetings. Uwe

Your video was very helpful I just decided to pull my carpet I'm going to line x the interior just for extra protection and save my money. It looks much nicer and I have no issues I can just get to the drainage plug and pull it

sometimes the Air conditioner has a tube that will slip off a line inside the car up under the dashboard on the passenger side. If this happens you get a wet floorboard from the AC.

Thank you for posting. What is the name of the material used to cover or patch the hole area to protect from water? It sounds like she says "durmat". I can't find anything named close to that. Also, is there anything comparable to that material to that material that would also work? Thanks.
