Jeep Wrangler JKU - Water Leak

- Major water leak on driver side 2013 JKU. Don't know how long problem was there because of the thick rubber floormats covering up the carpets. After much forum reading, UA-cam viewing and tiral/error I think I found the source of my problem.

glad you figured it out, and shared the solution with everyone else who may have the same problem.
I've only ever had one car which suffered a serious leak (it was a VW). It's problem was that water was being channeled behind the dash from the passenger-side front wheel arch (go through a puddle, and it was ram-scooping water directly into the car behind the dash, spewing out into the passenger-side front footwell).
The only "workaround" I could do was to poke holes through the floor under the carpet in the foot well, but that wasn't so great either.
Best thing I ever did was scrap that car! Never buying VW again!
She's back! Please review something, anything!
Sorry to hear of your issues sweetie, but am very happy to see you back on YT, even if its only brief.
Hope you & your family are all keeping well.
God Bless
Savvas
Roz nice to hear from you we miss you!
My stepdad had an old CJ back in the 80s. I currently have a 01 TJ. Which leaked around the air intake for the AC unit on the passenger side. I had to pull the old gasket off and reseal around it. Its disappointing to see that Jeeps still suffer from leak issues from the factory.
Jeep did offer a weather seal replacement for leak issues at the dealer... FREE I didn't have this leak, but they did replace seals and added some rubber up there.
I've missed you Roz... please don't wait another year :)
Missed seeing videos from you. Glad you're back at least for now. Hope you'll do more videos soon.
Yea! You're back! At least once... Best wishes.
Great to see you back.
Well I'm glad it's fixed and I hope to see you more on youtube soon!
Great to see a video from you, although bummed about the leak.
Oh, you are alive. That is good. That must be annoying to have a leak in the car. I like my simple boring car. Doubtful it would ever leak since it is a very simple and boring trim and roof.
Hey Ros, awesome to see a video from you again. Please make more and keep us updated. Warm regards.
p.s. Sorry to hear about the incident with the Jeep.
Lovely car! I drive a 10 year old Land Rover Defender. Have spent the last 6 months finding all the leak holes.. I found silicon window sealant worked best to fill the gaps... Think I'm finally there 😀
Good job. Leaks can be maddening.
Oh, I love you car. The coyote color is just perfect to the blue metal. I´d love to have one, but I am stuck with a Volvo. Not even 4x4... I miss those times in my 4x4rs in the bush. Great video, anyway, and nice to see you back Greetings from Sweden!
Happy to see you back! Been too long! :)
Cool DIY fix! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Ros, what's happening in your neck of wood? Glad to hear your voice again! Take care and have fun whit your awesome ride. Alaways helping...so nice!
Hey Thanks for a great video, very thorough and clear explanation. well done
beautiful jeep, sucks to have a leak, but it seems your on it and will be sure to fix the problem
Hi Roz, to seal such leaks Sugru coul'd be a very good material. You can get in in diffrent colors and mix it in much more. Greetings. Uwe
Your video was very helpful I just decided to pull my carpet I'm going to line x the interior just for extra protection and save my money. It looks much nicer and I have no issues I can just get to the drainage plug and pull it
I have the same exact problem!
Nice video. I've never had a leak in my Rubicon. Hope you're doing well. Miss your videos!
Woah, it's Roz!
Thank you so much for this
Happy for you. I just bought a jeep and can't find why it leaks. It's spilling down u Der both front doors near foot wells.
Cool! Thanks! I'll try this!
what is the product name? mines doing the exact same thing same place duromat?
sometimes the Air conditioner has a tube that will slip off a line inside the car up under the dashboard on the passenger side. If this happens you get a wet floorboard from the AC.
What was the name of the item you used to stop the leak?
Good info for us Nubicons.
Thank you for posting. What is the name of the material used to cover or patch the hole area to protect from water? It sounds like she says "durmat". I can't find anything named close to that. Also, is there anything comparable to that material to that material that would also work? Thanks.
I have the same problem
Where do you find the piece?
What did you use to prevent the leak?
Missing you on UA-cam. Hope you're doing well.
Good to see you back, Roz. Did you ever get around to taking the PMP exam?
Are you still able to remove your freedom panels?
Hey where are you? ;)
Hey. Are you on u tube anymore?
I had a leak in mine fixed it myself then dealer replaced all the carpet. My dealer was awesome on any issue
Did your seatbelt got wet too cause mine gets wet i get so mad that i be thinking of trading it in but ill give it a try
It`s a shame that Jeep has known about these issues with leaks and can`t come up with a fix and keep their customers happy.
Hope this is what's wrong with mine. Found a puddle on my floor today
vertical video syndrome.... god job
