Now they want to be like everyone else. They should keep 4k to make it unique something you can't get from another Mainstream flagship. Most of the time screen is only 2k but I love watching Netflix 4k content on my 1V
Considering the screen size there is no difference whatsoever between 2k and 4k.

Sony is typically bashed by reviewers because most of the reviewers do prefer point and shoot excellence vs the highly capable manual features. But that isn't the bad thing. The bad part is that the other perks of the phone are typically overshadowed and the value for the things like expandable memory, headphone jack, screen quality, and Creator/Android experience are usually poorly highlighted. But those features also make the device very good for people who aren't just camera focused. I think the pricing should equal to the Samsung Ultra devices and Sony misses out by not offering trade-in value or being more readily available. But similar to the Samsung Ultra device the Xperia offers features no other phone does. (Ex: expandable memory, headphone jack, and arguably the best manual camera features available) Not to mention it's built in studio apps for content creators and PlayStation. I personally like what Sony has done but I don't think it will reach everyone because it's not the most available, no trade-in value, and lastly because reviewers firmly say it's a niche product. I use both my Z fold 5 and the Xperia 1 V. I'm not big into music more than taking pics so the content creator apps definitely help that and the dac truly helps with listening, recording and editing music. What do you think about the Xperia features aside of the camera?
According to rumours sony wanted ltpo panels but making custom 21:9 4k ltpo panels would have pushed phone prices above 1500
I believe this. Knew it when they didnt jump the bandwagon of variable framerates 3-4 years ago
Looks like Sony did NOT disappoint with the Xperia 1 VI's display: although they clearly stated in their ads and launch video that it has "FHD+", upon research it turns out 2048x1080 is NOT "1080p", but rather "native" DCI 2k. It is "official cinema resolution" and like the Xperia 1's of the past still true to its cinema roots. Sony should've called it that instead of the smartphone and TV term of FHD+. Farewell 4K, but this should make it more mass-appealing. Well done Sony. 👏
They need to up their updates to at least 5yrs OS and security update..

After all, who needa 5y updates? 80% of world population that uses smartphones on daily bases changes phone every 2 years. Now we talk about flagships, not midrange phones.
@@tsukai1276 Out in the real world 80% of world is not changing there phone every 2 yrs especially if they paid for their phone straight up and it's cost over $1400. That's why Samsung and Google update OS and Security updates to 7yrs. Why cause it way more people holding on to their phones plus it's people buying Samsung and Google old phones too..
Sony on the other hand only has 2 yrs and I know in the US they are not in any T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T they are not on Best Buy displays and when it comes to trade in they are not even on the list for trade in. Now they turned their phone into a regular flagship. They don't have no mystique about it no more and you only get 2yrs of OS and Security. When you buy this phone you only get the phone that's it for $1400. They need to have everything check list like make sure cameras is top notch and point & shot too notch, video recording is notch, Sony front facing speakers top notch, Top notch Sony display, top notch antennas for calling and internet, etc also include phone case, screen protector already on it, phone charger and USB cable, very good headphones for $1400. Oh Sony messed up even more not letting the Big Tech Reviewers of tech get it first they are hot about that.. I'm not mad about it cause I know they are going to say get Samsung or say there are way better phones you can get for a lesser price. Which is true now
I want them to do well and if they going do all this they should drop the price $899 this undercut Samsung and Apple and rest of them and they will sell like hot 🥞. Sony need to tighten up..

I wish they come up with variable zoom or at least 2 different zoom levels for the ultra wide just like in rumours. 12-16 mm. Easy doable with sensor crop zoom

I loved having the 4k resolution for my videos. Now that's going to be quite noticeable I heard its even a bit lower than 2K display. I think i'll stick with 1V for the next upgrade.
I disagree with your guest saying "we just want you to buy it." No, that will work once then nobody will trust your brand and you'll lose big. Sony have catered to pro, semi pro and prosumers who love manual shooting. Their phones offer features that nobody else offer and they are why I switched from iPhone to Android. Adding computational photography and AI to their flagship phones will put Sony on equal footing with other makes for auto shooting and their unique features will set them apart and put them at a higher level. They just need to add the point and shoot computational features and they will win. I might buy a Mark V to continue to use the 4k screen and add a Mark 6 on contract. Then I'l have a 2 camera setup and won't need a DSLR at all.
Basic mode on the camera app on the Xperia 1 V is exactly the point and shoot experience you want. Just like any other phone camera app, and amazing post processing, especially in low light.
It's all about real time processing in which Samsung and Apple excel.
Need 3years of software support neeed better auto camera and reasonable price thats all they need to do to become competitive i love sony and i want it to be famous and grow ❤

Hello Guys, thanks for your video! I preordered the new phone, because of the aspact ratio. I´m didn´t like the 21:9.
But things like the sd slot and headphonejack its amazing! I decided against apple honor xiaomi ect. because i got problems to sync my 200Gb of music library.
Its almost like a god given thing to have a company that not follows the mainstream!

Leaks are there's going to be a new camera app, which will offer a better point and shoot and will merge all the camera and video apps
I believe that the 19.5/9 displays are cheaper to buy from Samsung and they don't make 4K displays in that size. So far I think the displays were from Japan Displays.I just wish there were larger sensors for the 16 and 85 mm lenses and then I'll be happy With a better car mode there is light and shadow... People shouldn't forget how to take photos 😅

He has openly admitted that since Sony do not PAY him for reviews (unlike SCAMDUNG and Apple ) then he cannot make any money from them. Plus the fact that he's openly biased against Sony anyhow.
It is amusing when this so called "techy" is incapable of using Xperia in the modes that they are designed for.
I under the handle of GILGAMESH was the twice UK champion PC Overclocker and once has a popular hardware review site called Overclockerstech. So with that in mind and using PC Hardware analogy to state my case. As super -Snuff is TOTALLY incapable of using a phone as a full professional and manual interface. It would be like marking down the score of a PC MOTHERBOARD as I got great overclocking results on AUTO but then I complain that the motherboard gets even better results on FULL MANUAL Overclocking! I would then complaining n that why Auto overclocking is not as effective as manual. See my point? If that were the case then I would have to examine my own competency and tech skills.
But what do I know....I only used to work with the likes of Oscar Wu at DFI Lanparty!
I quite agree with you the super that is always bias with sony will not see why sony has edge over the brands he likes, Sony will not send to him to analyze. He once criticized sony for consistent square - shaped now his phones are more square and boxy than Sony phones, l like Sony for there uniqueness.
i have sony 1 iii , and i love sony , but i hate sony phones not in the market like samsung and another brands , why ?

You would need such a large camera housing / thick phone to accomodate moving elemants and motors for all 4 cameras. Not saying its impossible, but the phone would likely cost $2,000 - $2,500 and the phone would increase thickenss by 2 or 3mm

4K screen should've been the standard for flagships and there are already devices with lower res like the Xperia 5 series, Galaxy S normal and Plus, etc. Though 2K is still fine and sharp enough. They may keep the 4K screen for the Xperia "Pro" and "Pro-I" series.
You won't see the difference between 2k and 4k with a naked eye
@@CubeShimmy You will and I guarantee you anyone who been living with a 4K screen Xperia can tell the difference by the time we look at a different flagship with 2K. It's a matter of getting used to something for a quiet long time.
I don't have the 4k phone but when comparing 2k to 1080p display phone you can see the difference also when watching youtube same resolution there's more detail and when comes to other things like editing or taking pictures i think it also effect it

The truth is , even without the 4K , you won't see the difference.
From all the Experia models that i have owned, this is the by far the best one.
Sony has listened and they have done it.
Not only better from all the previous models, but also the camera is by far the best phone camera of this moment.
Sony has passed the iPhone and the Samsung.
But the best screen ever made on a phone, is the Experia XZ 2 Premium.

They got rid of 4k and there form factor.. smh now its just a regular old Joe phone. I'm sure they are not dropping the price and they didn't upgrade their point and shot.. they took their mystique away. Damn this not going go well.. oh well .. The U.S is just drowning in Samsungs and Apples. Everything in Verizon, T-Mobile and At&t far as flagship goes the only please now with variety is Best Buy far as walking in a store look for different flagship phones other then Apple and Samsung. Verizon, T-Mobile and At&t they push everybody else out the door. Lol

Again bad thing regarding Sony Xperia, old design, expensive, not long enough Software and security updates compare to Samsung or Google Pixel, and more interesting colours available.
If this Sony is vs Iphone Pro Max and Samsung Ultra, it's a bit small at 6.5 inches .
