Hey awesome vid!! Wanna switch back to Android from an Iphone 14 pro. You still recommend the Sony or should we wait till the new one or got any other reccommendations?
I moved from Pixel to Xperia 1 III when it came out in hopes of forcing me to become a better photographer but I found myself mostly needing it for a quick point-and-shoot which was quite weak and still seems to be the case with Xperia 1 V if you watch MKBHD's blind phone camera test. It also fell apart in low light. If this has the convenience of having a reliable point-and-shoot camera in your phone in addition to pro photo/video capability then it could finally be a winner. Would love to have both, but since my experience with the 1 III, I've left pro-style shooting to my Sony mirrorless camera.
Do you use Sony as your main camera? Great points, this phone is much better then the mark3, but if it’s the best phone on the market idk, I think all phone l brands have pros and cons. In regards to if it can be used as a point and shoot then that’s what I use it as. But ultimately the decision will have to be yours and what you’re looking for ☺️

I just pre-ordered this. I'm getting a bit old now, and lugging around my A7R3 and a bunch of lenses isn't really something I want to do anymore. I'm really looking frward to being able to just go out with only my phone.
I would really like to buy new Sony smartphones, but I bought the 1V largely because of the experience that the Photo Pro, Video Pro and Cinema Pro apps gave me. The interface and design of these applications gives the feeling of professional shooting. This feeling motivates you to take your smartphone and go into the forest, take out a tripod and turn the settings. The new default camera app disappoints me, reminding me that this is just some kind of smartphone.
By the way I do like near the 16 minute and 25 seconds Mark you use some bubble round pullouts blow up up the picture on the right and that looks fantastic I really like that a lot
Having someone who knew how to take great photo really show this phone potential, . . Unlike the ones that just point and shoot without even taking to account that this phone is for manual photography and not for raw chip image processing with ai layering to make the photo look good.

Since i want realistic colours but want to be able to point and shoot when travelling and taking pics and videos. 3) how are the pictures and videos for Instagram? Android videos with Instagram aren't as smooth so I'm curious how it is for this. apparently s24 ultra has improved regarding videos for ig, I'm wondering how it is for the sony.
Great video, and content. Currently I have the Samsung S24 Ultra. The macro or lack of it is diabolical. By no means am I a professional. Do you use the manual functions or auto mode? The best I've found so far is on the Honor Magic 5 Pro macro function. In real terms are the macro shots usable with Sony telephoto. I like detailed shots. I have had the Sony Xperia 1 11 it was a good phone. Naturally things have moved on. Nothing beats Sony for films, UA-cam,music etc. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for another great video. Just a quick thought when you are posting you're still images in this video you use the blurry sidebars almost every time and it takes away from the beauty of your photograph I could see using that for a few photographs but for all of them it really did detract from the beauty of your pictures. It might be just my opinion or what I like
Still using the Xperia 1 ii Ready for an upgrade now tho so the vi might be the one. Definitely agree with the sentiment that the Xperia 1's are basically a camera with a phone in it, rather than a phone with a camera in it 👌
Good video. The problem I have with smartphone cameras is their lack of upgradability. I can't just add the great news lens that came out, for example. And i use my iPhone photos and video for social media, mostly, which means it doesn't have to be the latest and greatest I carry a 'proper' camera for other uses. And, with that camera, I can swap out batteries, for example, or lenses, and using filters is a lot less fiddly. Not to mention a huge big sensor and better image quality.
Great review! Did you also do some astrophotography with this phone camera? Like milky way shots with the primary and nebula shots with the telephoto? If so, would love to see that, because im getting into astrophotography after i managed to capture the Milky Way and Andromeda with my S22 Ultra.

Very nice video. Really enjoyd watching it!!! What about Battery Life and the heating issue? Would be interesting to know how sony dealed with that. Great work!!
I must be one of the few that is glad to see the end of the long thin design - I used to love it, champion it to everyone, but as i have gotten used to other designs (Nubia Z60 ultra, vivo x100) I am not as keen on that design. Others may love it and that's ok - but this phone seems perfect for my next Euro trip, so I have pre-ordered this morning, shipping will be next week, and should have the phone by the end of the month. Lots to enjoy with the Sony phones, very happy with the upgrade path.
Your video came at the perfect time! I was hovering over the "upgrade" button on my carriers website after the Xperia Showcase this morning but needed an opinion I can trust. Your video popped up on UA-cam and well.....pre-ordered for delivery on the 6th June. I have been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max after the Xperia 1 V as I bought a Sony a6700 with 3 lenses too. But you video reminded me of how the Xperia phones encourage you to think more when taking the shot (as with a camera). One question - does it play well with Mac OS for post-edit? I can do without the iPhone and Apple Watch, but need the phone to be a plug and play for Lightroom on my Mac
I've had both mac and pc in my life when I've used Xperia. Honest opinion is that it does connect better with PC, on the mac you need the Android File Transfer App which is a 3 party app. It works, but sometimes buggy. Just keep that in mind. With the fruit company everything works flawlessly as long as use just use their products. That's their model unfortunately.
@@thaticelandicguy Thankyou for the reply. What about just taking the SD card out and putting it into the Mac reader, does it still show as a DCIM folder and then just copy to Lightroom? Also, and this is a big one for me - are they still pixel binning the RAW to 12MP? Not a huge issue with mobile sensor sizes, but I do kind of like the iPhone 15 ProRaw (not the stupid artificial noise reduction it adds) but the extra MP's are nice to work with (cropping).
How do you make sure it has good dynamic range like iPhone 15? Usually when I shoot with Xperia 1V, the highlights look blown out in night environments
My 1 VI is arriving on monday. Never had a Sony phone before. Have the a7 IV though and love it. Im sooooo hyped for this phone. I still have the Google Pixel 6 and it still works flawlessly. Question : what if you take a photo at normal range and THEN zoom in a lot on the picture, when watching it on the phone ? Will that pixel it a lot ?
I really enjoyed the review. As someone who chooses his phone for camera purposes, your reviews are the go to place for getting information. How does the new form factor feel, especially when taking photos? I found that I preferred the thinner and longer format, because it was easier to handle. Also, how would you take macro shots on the Xperia 1 V, which is my current device?
Thank you very much! You and other similar videos helped me make up my mind about this phone. I had almost bought the previous version a few months ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t officially available in Italy. I’ve never understood why. It is publicised on the Italian website though.
great showcase of the phone! the shots you are taking are they edited? also the 48mp, can that be used only on 24mm or the 48mm too? do they not share the same sensor, was hoping Sony did all 3 lenses as 48mp!
@@viagensebabados ok they do look edited saw another video that has the reviewer really not editing much and the pictures still came out very nice. Yeah imagine having the sensor on all the lenses! This is something they should just do for the money they are asking for. Then again wonder how difficult it'll be to engineer all lenses to drop images on to that sensor. Who knows... Still waiting on the successor to the pro-i. Also I can live without the 4k I guess with that amazing battery life, but they could have done QHD at least 🫨
Two things you have not discussed What was the battery life after two days of filming ? Sony is one of the few manufacturers who actually have a development department for disability adaption. The visual impaired community are looking forward to the tremendous possibilities this camera can do to assist people with low sight.⭐
can you continuously video record with all lenses? also switching to selfie lens? even if its only available in 1080p it would be a nice feature for social media

Not a huge issue with mobile sensor sizes, but I do kind of like the iPhone 15 ProRaw (not the stupid artificial noise reduction it adds) but the extra MP's are nice to work with (cropping).
some nice shots there, in nature it really stands out
Hi, have you post processed the photo? Fantastic video btw!
Great rewiew. Whats your opinion of the camera in automode? Do you News to be a pro to enjoy the xperia 1 VI
How do you make sure it has good dynamic range like iPhone 15? Usually when I shoot with Xperia 1V, the highlights look blown out in night environments
Great video 👍🏾
Appreciate it!!
How do you know when to adjust the ISO and all of that?
Also, how would you take macro shots on the Xperia 1 V, which is my current device?
hi brother how to take selfie with the face mirror ? i can not find the function
I’d like to know how the camera is for a point & shoot person like myself?
Very cool. I wonder if the updates such as the new app and macro photography will come to the 1 V? I might just sit and see.
Thank you very much! You and other similar videos helped me make up my mind about this phone. I had almost bought the previous version a few months ago. Unfortunately, it wasn’t officially available in Italy. I’ve never understood why. It is publicised on the Italian website though.
Hello Sir big fan from Bangladesh ❤❤
great showcase of the phone! the shots you are taking are they edited? also the 48mp, can that be used only on 24mm or the 48mm too? do they not share the same sensor, was hoping Sony did all 3 lenses as 48mp!
Pretty sure those photos are edited and the exmor sensor is only available at the 24mm (48mm) which is very disappointing.
Also I can live without the 4k I guess with that amazing battery life, but they could have done QHD at least 🫨
nice video, thanks for the awesome review 🙏🙏❤❤
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Please post the best manual settings to photograph the moon!
Great video mate!
Are the photos edited? Nice pictures by the way ❤
Two things you have not discussed
What was the battery life after two days of filming ?
Sony is one of the few manufacturers who actually have a development department for disability adaption. The visual impaired community are looking forward to the tremendous possibilities this camera can do to assist people with low sight.⭐
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your view. Would like to know if ultrawide and telephoto are as good as 24mm in low light?
can you continuously video record with all lenses? also switching to selfie lens? even if its only available in 1080p it would be a nice feature for social media
Your video is very nice, one question I have is, did you use presets in these photos or is it the same as in normal camera?
Im curious too, because i see the photo is pretty sure like using preset
