@@Arrowhead-wp8od Colt must have gotten a lot of bad feedback and changed their minds. I can see a 3 vent on the 5 and 6 Inch barrels but not on the 4.25 .
Time to get a stainless 4.25" Python, Colt is likely to do something stupid and start making those current 2 vent guns with 3 vents like on the new blued version.
the python is my favourite revolver. when i saw they were finally making a blued version, which i was wishing for last year, i was SO excited. i gotta get me one (if i can ever find one)
All the manufacturers are still making 4.25 instead of 4.00 because the cost of changing and retooling is not worth what they will gain for .25" less on the barrel. But it does give the Karen and Becky's of the world something stupid to piss and bitch about over nothing.
All the single action army revolvers that I have bought the last ten years have black finishes. They look fine. For years everybody whined about bringing back the Python. They did and the complaining never stops.
This to me is a fail from Colt. 1. It is not Royal Blue 2. Only 2 barrel lengths? 3. Ruined the classic look which I would think would alienate the type of buyer that would be interested in a blued revolver in 2024. The original Royal Blue Pythons are very beautiful guns, they DO NOT have blued hammers, and have the proper amount of vents in the barrel rib which should have been 2 NOT 3 in this barrel length. Maybe I am off base but $200 more for this I think will not sell as well as it would have potentially if they did it more true to the original. I believe the type of buyer who would be more into this would be more traditionally minded thus not as likely interested in this Blued Python in its current configuration. Good luck Colt, hopefully you will bring back lightweight revolvers next and some new ones.
I hope that's true... but the ones I've been sold have 3 vents on a 4.25" barrel. Colt could sell both versions. I hope there's a 2 vent version, and that image isn't of a prototype before a 3 vent revision.
One would ask are the frames and barrels made by outside vendors,? That might account for the difference in the vents on the barrels. Carbon blue supplied by a different vendor than stainless. If made in houses, would expect them to be made on same machines
I confuse that why “vent ribs” of barrel of colt python 4 inch have 3 pics? the original vent ribs of Colt python 4 inch only have 2 pics. Thus, the design has a negative look, not beautiful. And, I absolutely support the original look only, but not a transformed version of its look. On the other hands, I like an animate cartoon - “City Hunter”, the protagonist, who uses Colt Python Royal blue 4 inch always as his proprietary pistol, attracts many audiences to know the model of pistol. The key point is the Colt Python 4” with 2 pics of vent ribs only, no more. Also, it should abandon “the design of red dot sight”, in order to not ruin the original of beautiful look. This gun should be made with “Nickel” polished on the gun as its material, but not a polished stainless steel.
They’re good looking firearms but still overpriced. They’ve evidently changed up the number of vent slots and up close pictures shows the blueing isn’t nowhere as good as the originals. The mat finish looks like a Taurus and totally unnecessary on a high end Colt. Bottom line is they’re still not the original where I believe more quality really went into manufacturing them. 🇺🇸⚡️TCB⚡️
The matte finish looks very close to my 8 inch electroless nickel trooper mkv. The blue is quite close to the old ones, it was hard to get good video because of course they were covered in fingerprints from everyone smudging them up. I'd look at one in person before you make comments on the internet about how they look. I saw it in person and while it's not on par with a 50's or 60's royal blue pythons, it's easily as good as the later 80's and 90's blue pythons if not better. They're really not overpriced for what you're getting. The new pythons have machined hammers and triggers and one piece barrels, compared to modern smiths with mim hammer and trigger and 2 piece sleeve barrels on some models.
thank goodness they got it right on the 6 inch
I believe that only the low serial number 4.25" guns will have 3 vents. I think later ones will have 2 vents.
@@Arrowhead-wp8od Colt must have gotten a lot of bad feedback and changed their minds. I can see a 3 vent on the 5 and 6 Inch barrels but not on the 4.25 .
Just got mine a week ago. It’s beautiful!!
A 4 1/4" barrel with 3 vents looks stupid. There should only be 2 vents.
She told someone else in another vid that they shipped last month!
I agree; 3 vents on the 4.25" looks too busy - but fine on the 6". I could've swore I saw one with 4 vents on the 6" though (hopefully I'm wrong)...
I’m not a Colt guy. Just asking. Why does the number of vents matter? I’m assuming because y’all want as close to the original as possible?
@@it_is_finished Correct. The number of vents was always the giveaway of the barrel length. 3, 2 or 1.
3 vents on a 4.25 looks crowded (stupid).
@@carlosmorris4510 that would be blasphemy!! Just like 3 vents on a 4.25 is!!

For that price, the original royal blue, should have added.
Why are they still making it 4 1/4? They only made that length so they could sell them in Canada which they cant anymore. Bring back the true 4 inch

They make the 5" in this I'm grabbing that thing!!
I was surprised to learn of that 5" in SS. I'm like what's the point of that??
@@thebronzetoo I just think it looks the coolest not too long not too short and still a 3 rail.
Should of gotten her #
CZ- Colt need make all the models in blue in all barrel lengths ad calibers like .45 in the anaconda. Lightweight models like Smith does
Did they have any SAAs at the show?

Why didn't Colt place good sights on their new Pythons instead of cheap junk?
they needed to keep an oily rag at the booth. an experienced rep would know why,
3 vents on a 4" (4.25") Python.🤮
