Another winner from Ruger! I have one of the original JM Marlin Guide Guns I bought new in 2000. It is very high quality, but the Rugers may be even better. Only Ruger could have saved Marlins and actually improved them.
Yeah my performance center S&W 460 3.5 IN. Tk Custom is that finish and it works perfectly. Its all in how it performs. It doesn't matter how it looks
I have been looking into getting that finish for my first colt. I remember when I saw the reveal from shot show on another video. But there are not really any videos on this model your camera quality shows it clear I’m getting ☝🏼
Beautiful Chief!
I have to get one of these............
Beautiful gun nice review I have a few 44s myself but Hi Point actually actually has the best best customer service and warranty out there Ruger is probably second
I tried CCI #11 magnum percussion caps, 30g cylindrical pyrodex, and Missouri Bullets 45 cal 200g semi wadd cutters.
Just bought th lcp max over the bodyguard due to I have Parkinson’s and could not rack the bodyguard the lcp max being hammer fired I can rack just fine . I do like s&w as I own the 380 ez and equalizer.
It doesn't work nothing but misfeeds and stove pipe ejection failures ! Just put together a complete 10mm slide !
Good camera work, helped a lot!
Ruger is easier to draw, from the pocket. More rounded , easier to wrack the slide.
BG 2.0 has been amazing. Loving it. True pocket gun, 300 rds so far with no issues. Super accurate too for such a tiny gun. Great buy if you can find one! haha
I personally like it. I have a python I bought in 2020 so it has the semi bright or whatever they call it. My next snake will be a matte stainless Anaconda
Is that a fiber optic red dot?
I have not heard of any problem with the Max firing from being dropped
It is drop safe, I tested it. But mine, which was plagued with problems initially, which I fixed, just had the sear break on me, I never altered it. Hammer won't cock. Gonna replace it with the BG 2
It’s my favorite size 380, for carrying! My backup is a Baby Browning, and it’s always with me. Deep cover!
That scope looks cold...
Well, it's not a scope. So there's that.
Old technology
What is it then I’m curious
@@Johnydowny69 if im not mistaken that's a early generation collimator sight. From the 70s i think.
I Do NOT LIKE THAT BIG LOPE LEVER !!! KEEPING Me From Buying It !!! SORRY RUGER 😞
I just got mine updated (Sep 2024) so they're still doing it free, with a complimentary 10-shot mag.
It's from call of duty black ops 2 the revolver is called the exicuter you can get it from town survival from the mystery box then pack a punch it the best perks to survive town to high rounds are juggernaut 2500 speed cola 3000 quick revive in single player is 500 but on multiplayer it is 1500 then standing up is 2000
Other way
This is a very detailed comparison of the most popular pocket gun and the new contender. One very important thing you didn't mention is that the bore axis of the BG2.0 is much lower than the LCP Max. This allows for a much less "snappy" feel when shooting. The recoil is directed into the web of the shooting hand, making target acquisition for the second round much faster.
10 rounds is great but id like to see the smith offered with a slimmer grip and 6 or 7 rounds for thinner pocket carry.
@@hosocat1410 its as thin as a single stack man. Go to a shop and handle one before leaving a comment like this.
@@Arrowhead-wp8od ummm...ok?
The LCP Max...
What's the point of a wind age adjustable front sight when the rear is fully adjustable?
The hex pin was added not to prevent the frame from cracking it was to prevent wear of the aluminium frame in the area were the locking block interacts with the frame.
Amazing how something new is always better. The LCP is a proven workhorse.
Just hold both back to back.....

The methods used here to compare the two guns are wrong in so many ways, I hardly know where to begin. In the tracing, you line up the back of the grips and the front of the trigger guard, when you should be lining up the tips of the muzzles; that would give you a more accurate idea of the guns' pocketability. That's why the Smith is loose in in LCP's holster: not because it's thinner, but because it's LONGER, and the longer muzzle prevents the gun from settling into the holster snuggly. Furthermore, instead of measuring length and height separately, you should be measuring overall dimensions at their GREATEST points, namely the opposite corners, from the top of the front sight to the bottom rear corner of the grip, at the rear of the magazine base. But even using the method that you use, anyone can see that the Bodyguard is clearly larger than the LCP, not "ever so slightly" longer. And while 1/10 or 1/8 of an inch might be negligible when comparing, say, a Beretta 92 to a 1911, it's a significant difference when comparing pocket guns. As to the Bodyguard's "beavertail" versus the LCP'S "wasted space," that upper section of the LCP's grip houses the gun's internal hammer (an important feature for pocket carry) and is rounded for a snag-free draw from a pocket, whereas the Bodyguard's "beavertail" is more likely to snag.
Keep coping
@@Arrowhead-wp8od. That’s your response to a well thought out and correct critique of your methods? Seems like you’re the one coping. And for the record, I’m not a fan of either one.
If they increase the size slightly and make it 9mm, it'd be something cool.
It is hard to get how small these pistols are to show up in pictures and video. I put rulers and other guns in the shot and it still doesn't do it.🤷♂
👍
Insert the 12-round mags into each gun, but this time, instead of comparing just the HEIGHT of the two guns, measure their lengths from the tops of their front sights to the bottom rear (heel) of the grip. It looks like the 12- rounder changes the grip profile of the Smith more drastically than the Ruger, increasing the backstrap length as well as the size difference between the two guns. Ruger designed the LCP with rounded corners and smooth edges, for pocketability, while the S&W is more angular in design, for ergonomics.
Maybe you should make a video comparing them instead of spamming Ruger fanboi comments on this video.
Why would you care about whether or not you need a tool to disassemble the gun? What are you going to do with the gun once you disassemble it, that does NOT require other tools anyway, like a cleaning brush, rod, patches, oil, etc.? Would it kill you to keep, let's say, a small screwdriver in your cleaning/maintenance kit?
Just shows me that Smith thought it out a little more to make it more convenient for the end user.

New subscriber here🙋♂, UA-cam recommended this video, likely because I have been watching all the BG 2.0 reviews.👍 I picked up the BG 2.0 about a month ago, I like the pistol just fine, I'm still not comfy with only having 380 on me.🤷♂ Good comparison of the two.👍 I have been fondling the LCP Max for over a year every time I was in the tool store. I never liked the way it felt in my hand and never bought one. The Bodyguard 2.0 is different, it feels good in my hand.👊 I have been seeing the LCP Max for sub $200 since the release of the BG 2.0, I bet Ruger has an upgrade to the LCP Max in short order, and I am waiting to see what it is.😁 The slide locking back on the last round is an issue with the grip for me, I ride the release. But there is something different about my grip on the 10 round magazine that amplifies this.🤷♂
The Ruger is a true pocket pistol, having evolved from the original LCP, which was designed as a pocket gun. S&W may call theirs a Bodyguard, but it's pretty much just a down-sized Shield, a replacement for, rather than a upgrade, of their original Bodyguard. The dimensional differences may not seem like much, but in true pocket carry, millimeters count; the longer slide and grip (with extended mag) of the Bodyguard (not to mention the lack of the rounded edges of the Ruger) make it harder to carry and draw from a pocket. The Bodyguard seems more like a miniature micro-compact 9mm, best carried in a holster, while the Ruger seems more purpose-built, to be carried and drawn from a pocket.
They are the exact same size man. Not sure what your motive is but this just isn't true, if the Ruger will fit in a pocket, so will the Smith. There is no pocket that exists that the Ruger will fit in but the bodyguard is too big. Also the grip is not longer on the Smith, it's the exact same as the Ruger, you just get more grip because Smith undercut the trigger guard and Ruger did not even attempt to.
Best review of the S&W I’ve seen to date. I’ve pocket carried the original LCP for over 10 yrs & never experienced a single problem w/any kind of ammo so I have confidence in it. I will say my old LCP is no fun to shoot so I’ll be checking out the Smith soon.
Hello!! Thanks for this video!! I did never see this kind of exemplars with the shoulder stock detail almost "shaved" off😮. I am portuguese and this country had some Lugers for our armed forces. We even had some P-08s. But only a very small number. He had some 1906 models in 7,65 Parabellum (.30) and then we had more of latter yeses in 9X19mms Parabellum. Elder men who served here know it only by the name of Parabellum. (As you know this word mean for war in Latim). I got very happy with this video, especially because it was made by such a young man, with so much knowledge on this. 😮❤. Try to take a look at the book "The Luger Book" from John Walther. But of course there are other great books on Lugers too. We had many German guns, of which the Luger may have been the first, I do not know. All through the XXth Century. We had Mauser rifles, and the H&K G-3 (from the 60s until now). I served as a soldier in 1985/6, and could shoot it at the range, only thank God!! What a video, man you brought up here!! In case you need some info from here, just drop a line. Greetings from Portugal ❤❤
I just ordered the lcp max. My biggest reasons were price and holster availability. It was hard to pass on the Max at 250 bucks. Once my preferred holster companies make body guard holsters I'll probably try one out.
I’m not the biggest fan of 380 but S&W knocked it out of the park with their new bodyguard. I’m encouraging my lady friends to buy this gun, it’s perfect for concealed carry especially for runners.
😅I’m sure the BG 2.0 is a fine gun and if I did not already have the Ruger LCP Max, I would have gotten one. I purchased the LCP Max 75th anniversary edition around 6 months ago on PSA. Paid only $269 for it. It’s been flawless over 500 rounds thus far. I’ll stick with the LCP.
Don't care, stubborn here and I love my Ruger LCP max Pro to my core! Ruger fan boys rise up!
I have a Ruger, BG 2.0 is 100 years ahead of it... makes Ruger look ancient.
@PianoMessage it's a pocket pistol, it doesn't need to be 100years ahead.
😂😂
Ruger should just stop making the Max all together.
💯
The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 is THE BEST 380 micro-subcompact pistol that has been designed and manufactured in the last 50 years! Ive had many different kinds over the years and this new Bodyguard 2.0 take the cake in ALL CATAGORIES! There is no comparison what so ever, at all. And YES... it's better than the Sig 365. Smaller, thinner and half the weight. I have the Sig too, but no way. I recommend anybody looking for a pistol to go take a look. I highly recommend it if your looking for this size pistol. It's that good.also comes with two (2) magazines. Imagine that. This old crap of pistols coming with just one magazine makes zero sense. As for all the folks out there asking if it will accept an optic, or a light, come down to earth. Your not John Wick. That's a movie. Why would you want to bolt on a bunch of crap on your pistol to make it heavier and larger? Optics suck on concealed carry pistols and lights on concealed carry pistols make no sense to me. You want it small for a reason. In reality, you would most likely want to pack something light and rather small, even if it's not the new S&W. Practice practice, practice!
50 years is a long time. So S&W has now produced another generation of “LCP” with an extra magazine. S&W was very late to the party for capacity and sights.
A .380 "pocket gun" that's better than a 9mm micro-compact? 😂😂😂😂
