Long Range Made Easy? - AllTerra Mountain Shadow Carbon 6.5 PRC
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- In this video I review the AllTerra Arms Mountain Shadow Carbon chambered in 6.5 PRC as well as talk about what AllTerra offers in regards to providing a turn-key rifle kit that allows you to literally shoot long range with only the press of a button and the pull of a trigger. This could be very appealing to many people that don't want to do a lot of the leg work of scope selection, mounting, zeroing, load development, imputing info to a ballistic calculator, etc. Even without the kit, as a stand alone rifle the Mountain Shadow Carbon is so far proving to be a ridiculously capable rifle. Side note, AllTerra said if anyone mentions Texas Plinking when ordering a rifle you get a free trigger upgrade. That offer expires April 1st, 2024.

WOW that's generous of them for a $5,000+ rifle..I'm sure they're just jumping off the shelves.
Is that a Proof barrel?
Yikes that's really expensive. I was expecting like 1/4 this price.
No one should be taking shots on animals if they haven't put the time behind the rifle with proper training
While I agree. This allows someone who is going to do much more than a couple of range trips to be much safer.
Very nice rifle, but I am not paying $6500+ for a rifle that is no more accurate than a $1500 rifle.
On the subject of people that don't know how to set up a rifle, it would blow peoples mind knowing how many hunters there are that can't set up their rifle. The owner of a gun shop asked me if I wanted to make a little extra money (mounting scopes and zeroing rifles and large cal. handguns). I asked why, he said many people that get new guns or rescope their guns can't set them up. And all of them wanted someone to check zero before hunting season every year. I went by his shop 2 days a week through the summer months to mount scopes and zero rifles on his 100 yrd range, I would keep targets with 5 shot groups for the gun owner with ammo info. I got to shoot all types of rifles and revolvers in all major calibers with someone else buying all ammo and paying me to do it. I done that for 4 years, even set bows up for the same reason.
Seems like an accurate rifle. Not sure many people would think 3 round groups statistically mean anything. For that price there really should be all the bells and whistles, adjustable cheek riser/length of pull just to name 2. Great video as usual
Very true but I think that fixed stocks are pretty universal excluding children. I shoot a weatherby vanguard, i’m 6’2 and set it up to fit me like a glove. Mother and father are like 5’9. Aunts and uncles are like 5’6-5’8. Little cousins is like 5’2. Outside of eye relief and scope height, the rifle fit them comfortably as well.
3 shot groups do mean a lot for hunting, especially a sub .5 MOA cold bore. If you hit or miss an animal, it’s unlikely to remain stationary and if you need more than 3 shots to kill an animal, you need more practice. Walking around with a 5 lbs rifle beats walking around with a 9 lbs one.
Also they guarantee a sub .5 MOA 3 shot group. My weatherby had a guaranteed sub MOA 3 shot group but it’s still very consistent 4 shots and up. I’ve shot 6 rounds within 3 minutes and all impacted roughly centered mass at 500 yards.
Still stand behind fact that 3 shot groups men very little for showing accuracy of a gun and a particular cartridge. Hunted all across the globe for 26 years now and agree with fact you shouldn’t need 3 shots on most animals. And just because a rifle has an adjustable cheek riser and length of pull doesn’t automatically make it heavy. At those prices those things should be a given. And yes most times I would prefer a lighter gun but not when shooter higher caliber gun like 300PRC, 300Win or .338 Lap
I believe for that kind of money I'd get a Barrett MRAD.
Totally different purposes however. Benchrest vs hunting
I don't see 7mm PRC in the list. I would also hope you could get a longer barrel. A 20 or 22 inch barrel is no way to get the best performance out of a high capacity cartridge. Not what I would want for a $6k+ rifle.
So, it's a lazy elitist (look at me) toy!
6.5 PRC is such a stout round. Can't wait till manufacturers start producing more of it so cost per round goes down.
For the price I’d rather see a forged carbon chassis/stock instead of a typical weaver carbon design. Based on conditions I’d rather always test my zero confirmation. I still can’t see how even with materials and labor it’s still a 6k platform
With no optic McRee and a couple other companies have shown these companies are gonna kill the industry by making stuff so expensive and set to the standards they use that entry level rifles will soon make a leap up on price again.
I can see how it might appeal to gun enthusiasts looking for a solid, ready-to-go option
Request sir, can you show us the Macmillan Tac 50 in 1000yards challenge
Any chance to customize approach with 1,000 yard challenge or even reviews and focus on new shooter bracket methodology? I don’t have. 1,000 yrd, range nearby, just 200 yrd. Haven’t had my new rifle out because weather is awful. At the age of 50, never getting to shoot at all until a few years ago, and being highly competitive, find this all very interesting. Bought my first semi-auto shotgun 2 years ago then a beretta 694 and ,I’ve clay shooting, but can’t find the time. So why not buy a stag arms pursuit bolt-action 6.5 Creedmoor and give long range a chance. Hence, I have a lot,to learn and think it would be fun to have a “newbie” challenge or even “newbie” v. “tenured” challenge. And for the younger folk, I know “noob” is the way it is today, my kids tell me all the time. - appreciate the content.
God dam nice setup!!! Plus rocking the Casio watch?!
$12k rifle, $20 Casio calculator 😂
Love to see you shoot a more practical hunting rifle like a Ruger or savage in 6.5 Creedmoor
6MM ARC - after learning about this round, we need more rifles in the round
You should get a 270 win with a 7.5 twist barrel and use the new high BC bullets. Ive been hammering this for awhile now
It’s called a 6.8 western
I mean, that's a nice looking rifle, but $11,000? Nah.
First! Love your content man! Keep up the hardwork
Nice rifle !!! I can see this making an appearance in the next 1000 yard challenge !!!
I like the hell outa that rifle. 11k??? No damn way I’d pay that for any rifle
Top!!! Belos tiros! Bela arma! Uma pena aki no Brasil ser ta cara uma arma dessa, mas ja estou me preparando financeiramente para num futuro próximo adquirir uma!
Very Nice '' Great Stuff 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
For that price it would want to kill it, skin it and cook it, lovely setup though cheers people ✌️🤙
Nice rifle no doubt but you can build one with premium parts for under $5k
That's too expensive
Not being an ass but that price is STUPID !!!!
Can you please do a video on the 6.5-300 weatherby mag
Damn right…the titanium one boy cross hill had that looked awsome…ammos rare and expensive so it’s one I’d love to get and load for…I have the 24” carbon waypoint in 6.5prc and have been loadin for it over a yr and have some insane varmit rds that interrupt the space/time continuum when fired…
Hell yeah I can’t wait to see it. If I had a scope yet. I would ask to go out to your range. But not yet once I put some lead down range. I’ll reach out to see if I can go out there. I’m here in New Mexico so not to far from you.
Nobody cares about it that's why it's not this video instead of the PRC
Pass, trying to throw money in place of skill
Very nice rifle brother.👍👍👍
6k for a hunting rifle? Lol they def need you to push their product.. can’t imagine any avg person actually paying that ridiculous price
Maybe they’re not targeting the average person, they’ve got plenty of customers
6 grand for THAT?!?! The fuck?!
Great video like always! Nice touch on the old school Casio calculator watch :)
Still have my data bank
Where can I send this guy an email? I have a Turkish Mauser 8mm (Poor Man's Mauser) None the less, I can't find a scope mount for it I'd love to come out and shoot the 8mm at 1,00 MOA if i could get a scope...
I would have been interested if still working, being retired I am priced out.
Nice Rifle. There is no way I could explain that purchase to my wife. She would think I finely lost my mind. I'll stick with TIKKA. It's light and shoots better than me. Thanks for sharing.
just like shooting my 6.5 Its really hard to see the splash. i need redemption
Ruger American gen 2 shoots that well, maybe better, for A LOT less money! And it weights about the same. I don't see the need.
If you bought the nicest custom carbon stock, carbon barrel, custom action and a trigger it’d be hard to pay more than 4k…
What kind of shades are those?
With that price, I wonder how these compare against Seekins Precision hunting models.
target audience: money to blow.
Can build one cheaper and with more features
How did high end rifles suddenly go from $3K to $7K ?
fed keeps the money printers going flat out that's how
I shoot the waypoint prc and this one’s alot like it….havnt got past 500 yet but seein those hits I’m anxious to go the distance
Pay to win society....
And when they get to the hunt, they hand the gun to their guide and have him shoot the animal.
Little bit spendy for common folk.
You like Heineken beer too😎😎
Once again a Squirrel shooter........... 🙄 What about calibers above .338LM?
This channel isn't dedicated to 2 mile shooting. You can easily do 1000 yards with heaps of cartriges under .338LM, so there's probably very little reason for him to buy/review those big bangers
Like to see you test the Beretta BRX1 on this in 308 Win
Dang! I just checked this rifle out..$6,250.00 ??? bare rifle without scope! wow!
Right... They're nice. But you'll have to open your wallet up really wide. 😅
Impressive for a lightweight rifle. Also good shooting
Thats where you lost me $6000.00 ?
$5000 for a BC range finder and an hours labor!!!
$2,500
Ought to pit this against the waypoint….
Does the ballistic calculator take into account powder temperature (those rounds are sat in direct sunlight) and aerodynamic jump (assuming a slight right to left wind?)
The range finder uses Applied Ballistics. When you create the custom profile for your cartridge, there is a table to input mv vs temp. I'm not certain, but I'd wager that AB also accounts for aerodynamic jump.
Sell all your other rifles and focus on one platform. And you’ll quit wasting ammunition jumping around
Spoken like a true poor
Yeah for that cost ide get a Barrett 50
That’ll be good for hunting up in the mountains 😂
Im too poor for this rifle😂 ill stick to smacking 10" gongs at 1k with my sig cross
Come out for the challenge
For that price
Nothin just wanted to say that like everyone else
Hahaha ;D
Wow that surely is a lovely rifle.
Being a Mill guy, why did you get a MOA package?
This scope isn't mine, I'm returning it to Allterra. they just wanted the package showcased this way.
Ouch.
Whew! $$$
😮wow
Love 6.5 PRC
They prolly had that thing locked down in a sled for that group that they sent with the rifle
A rifle and scope under 1500$can shoot that good .
Terrible group for an $11,000 rifle. What is the break in procedure for that barrel? Do you consider just firing rounds a break in procedure?
$6,570*
Still, too expensive for you, remember? You said I was part of the problem 5 hours ago yet here you are coming back to ask questions. Unbelievable, go breathe some outdoor air…
My lord that is ridiculous. I’d rather buy an AI at that price.
AIs aren’t great for hunting.
