- In this video, I shoot a few of my 2011 pistols as I talk about shooting impressions and overall what you can expect when looking for a 2011. Really, I just needed an excuse to bring these to the range anyways, they remain to be among my favorite pistols to shoot. Let me know which was your favorite!
A big thanks to Ghoststar Tactical for sponsoring this video!

How do we sign up to shoot the 1000 yard challenge??
@@jacobdeem8187 Instagram DMs are easiest to get to but I’m booked up for a bit as of now. Doesn’t hurt to reach out though in case someone backs out.
Love the honesty and humility. Subbed.
Yes I really should get one of these, acting like I don’t have $12 in my account.
Become a migrant, they get $12,000 for down payment assistance.
@@HWG-wm8ld I am a migrant, a legal one. And no, it is beneath my familial culture, upbringing and personal honor to take money I didn’t earn.
Mom was the best honest portion of this review. Your recap was a solid dismount.
Your mom actually brought a lot of value to this review. Most of us have a brand bias, but her “black gun” branding really offers quality feedback about the gun performance.
Well done! 👍🏻
I didn’t expect it to take that turn but honestly it made sense. Like me trying to distinguish between red wines. They’d all taste the same to me.
Staccato , Bul-Armory, Night Hawk Customs, Prodigy owner here…. I promise you…. I highly suggest take a Bul-Armroy or a Prodigy and send it off to NightHawk Customs to get modified… I sent out my Bul-Sas Tac 2 to get the works done and its Fuk’n amazing. NightHawk Customs have amazing gunsmiths. Must I say pure artwork. Slide is a smooth as fine glass and glides like oily marbles… The craftsmanship is like fine artwork.
I didn't know they work on non night hawk guns.
@@isidrosevier1125 They work on 1911/ 2011 format guns… Send them a message (Bob Revees) to confirm what you’re looking to do and he will reply on suggestions. I would recommend to go throughout their UA-cam channel and see their different services. Then you’ll be able to decide what you’d like for your custom work. You’ll love it. Also I suggest customizing your 1911/ 2011 with Wilson Combat… but. They take longer to reply to your messages. I have a Springfield Armory 1911 tuned by Wilson. It’s amazing.
@@PeteRock1 o wow, that awesome information to have. I appreciate it
What work did you have done to it
Mom is the best.
Been waiting for someone to put all these pistols together. Thanks for taking the hit to the bank account for us. 😂
I have a Platy on order right now. I've been tempted by the Bul arms though. They are super attractive guns, just a little higher than I want to pay at this moment in my life. maybe after I decide that my Platy isn't enough, I'll sell it for a Bul. :D One of the main reasons I went with Platy vs Bul is also because I can have a threaded barrel on it for suppressed. Bull doesn't have that yet.
I'm in the same boat! Just harder to get the BUL so I'm thing of getting the Plat. I'm ok with waiting since I know it's to what I want and not to have constantly check for "in stock" product on their website. If I do find one I'm grabbing it 😅
getting your plat is the best decision youve ever made. replacing it with another gun just in its own category wouldnt make much of a difference especially it being a gun that punches above its weight (you want it because of the features other guns in the same range doesnt have). so unless youre replacing your platypus with a significantly better performing higher quality gun like an atlas, a nighthawk, a wilson, an ed brown, a HAYES, or even just a watchtower apache... forget that replacement and im sure youll be enjoying your platypus. :)
"Hey guys now hear me out, how about we change our name to sound less like a STD and more like an italian shoe?"
Solid move tbh
Less like the more modern acronym for an STD and more like the Italian word for short and separated music notes*
I'm gonna name my gun company STD
A stiletto is a type of heel on a shoe or a type of knife. Staccato is a music term for short, separated notes.
XC for me.
The Platypus, tho...the want is real...lol
Because I have a terminal case of "the poors", I opted for the Tisas 1911 B9R Duty Double Stack. Works great, thanks! :)
That's one helluva collection sir! Very fun video. Thx. Dug the Mom part. Super cool.
Wondering if you've ever heard of or tried the Jacob Grey TWC-9?
none, disallowed at cali due to stupid laws.😅
BUL Armory SAS 2 pro tac 5 inch model
Gunfads are weird. The stacatto is another one. People paying 200 bucks for a battlecomp muzzle brake. Gucci glocks. Pccs. Lightest weight ars. Its a hobby for most people, but its also like fashion. People overpay for things in style right now. Ive seen these fads come and go over the years.
dude, we love mom!!
your mom is cool as hell lol
platypus for the best price and dual magazine usages.
Loving the series! Cheers from Latvia 🇱🇻
I went Kimber KDS9c (rail version), zero failures to date about 1500 rds in.
I had a Stacatto Full Size, I was at the range and I let a guy shoot it. He then wanted me to shoot his Springfield XD. I really didn't want to shoot it. Amazingly cheap sub $500 dollar gun sent the bullet through the same hole as the Stacatto at 20 yards. I no longer have the Staccato, I'll put my money into my rifles. My next buy will be a scope for Larue Predatobr.308
Staccato owner here, several thousands of rounds later over the course of 4 years the only thing I have cleaned is the barrel and it still has 4 year old EWG (extreme weapon grease) running butter smooth. filthy, gooey, zero malfunctions. Zero. None. Factory standard recoil spring, it has ate 115's, 124's and 147's of all types. Still groups a dime every time I confirm zero. It's like an AK. It doesn't care. It just runs. Dirty, gooped up with 4 year old black tar loaded with carbon and whatever else. Doesn't care. Just keeps running.
Which one would help!

@@Neubtoob just so you know,,,, that's an issue with any hammer fired pistol. Soooo... sit down.
Was that a ricochet at 9:43?
I'll be ordering a Sandhawk in about 4 months. You only live once and that's what I want to pass down to my son.
The best answer is ALWAYS to buy the one you can shoot the best, UNLESS you're a 'poser' who has no intention of attaining competence. In that case, just buy the one you think others will believe to be more impressive to others. Lastly , depending on whether you're a 'collector' for self satisfaction; or for monetary investment: If the former, buy the one YOU like:) If the latter, then buy the one everyone else seems to like if you can get a 'deal' on the price. In the end, unless you actually need one to defend you and yours, it's all about 'fun' sooo pay your money and make your choice:)
I’m not ready for a 2011 yet…. But they are very cool 😎
I’ve been following you for a long time I love your content I love how your mom is involved she’s so attractive and so cool and engaging with the shooters on your 1000yd challenges keep up the good work and hopefully I’ll get to come shoot with you eventually!!!
She’s our mom now
Welcome to the family
The fact that I know I will have to send my staccato in due to the slide stop just pisses me off I want to sell it
Staccato is not high end. It’s the Camry of the double stack world. They are great and reliable. But there are a ton of higher end double stacks. Anything Atlas is better than anything Stacatto…just as an example.
Platypus jumps way too much in every video I seen it’s always snappy.
it's lighter than all the others by a decent margin.
None. Terribly expensive during Bidenomics. Have to settle with my duty weapons for now
Sorry Sir. Please Slow down your Talking, you talking is as Fast as the Handguns , also with Today’s Five Axis CNC Machines a Handgun saves a H of Money. And maybe a Gun Company should just Titanium Handgun then the Price be the Right Price for What they Charge for these Handguns
An overlooked 1911 DS is the RIA Ultra Pro Match. This is the gun Hayes uses to build their race gun. I have 2 plus their Cobra and the RIA is a very nice shooter. The Cobra is from another planet.
I have both the RIA Ultra 9mm and the Springfield Prodigy, The RIA shoots great but is a very heavy large, large grip pistol, shoots flat and quick no failures at all. Prodigy 4.25" has a ton of upgrades to make it better than it is for the $$$. Probably $500 upgrades. It is a race gun as good as my STI was. It took ~1,000 rounds to smooth it out completely but it's a race gun now. Super smooth and Super fast flat shooter much better than I can shoot. The RIA was about 1/2 the price of the Prodigy.
I’ll sell my staccato p limited right now
It's a good gun, it's expensive, and obviously it's very popular, but those who are in the U.S. and have this Colt know what it is.
I'm wanting to buy my first 2011 and I can't decide on the 4.25" Prodigy Comp or the Live Free Armory Apollo 11 compact.
Can’t believe you left out Wilson Combat’s 2011 entry, the EDC X9L. WTF??
Hey I was wondering if you had any recommendations on good holsters for the prodigy? Preferably with an x300 and maybe a red dot but honestly anything is fine. I have one but it scratches my side pretty good after just a couple hours of carrying
Carry or duty? Safiland for duty.
Dude, I was about to turn away when I caught the comments about your mom and had to check it out. Awesome. Please include her on any future vids. Thanks!
Name a gun platypus..! Damn... Just use a fkn number or something!
Okay, gotta know, where's mom from originally? I've been trying to place her accent for certain for while now.
I mean if you don't got the money for a 1911 / 2011 just get a p320 or wilson combat 320 pretty close
The real question is what would be better a staccato XC or a staccato P with a suppressor
About video info, please list the guns which u speaking about in the video, also for long videos put breakers
You could hear the ricochet flying by… rocks aren’t a berm. All it takes is one bad one and your fucked. Crazy.
The only ones that seem actually worth it are the cheaper ones like the platypus or the springfield. It's got all the features and it's prob 80% of a staccato xc but for a legit fraction of the price
Bul armory is the only one I would get
One of each…..
Can’t get none i live in California but even if I could I wouldn’t Glock fan boy here😎
I got the answer which ever you can afford cause there all super expensive 😂
Where is Wilson Combat EDC or SFX representation?
Laugo Alien is the way
This is what I want next
If you have 10k buy all of them.....and thats what I did 😀👍
The thing that concerns me is the Springfield is limping the brass out on ejection and doesn't seem consistent. I saw the same thing in Outlaw's video. No one seems to address it. I just wonder if it's going to cause malfunctions down the line as the components wear in.
It will.
Just need to add a bit of tension to the extractor, probably
Atlas all the way bro
Yessir!
A waste.
Anyone remember the 1st Staccato C? 7 rounder?
Looking forward to the Fusion Xp-Pro 20x11. Looks to be all the things for a really good price. Will find out in October!
Those glock stocks are ugly and ridiculous
Platypoos! Your mom fking rocks
never answered the title of your video...
Yeah but are any of them drop safe?!?
None. I have 3 kids in a Biden economy.
A little confused by this comment, sorry to hear about your troubles but I didn’t force anyone to watch this video. I appreciate you watching and commenting nonetheless
@@TexasPlinking Was just a joke. Your video is about which 2011 should you get. Most people can’t afford them, especially in a Biden economy. NVM.
@@TexasPlinking I like the channel. I have firearms. I enjoy the content. Was merely making light of the current economy.
Loved the mom review, that is a pure non gun addict review like everyone here lol.
Mom is cool I try to get my mom out to the range
The answer is buy an OA 2311
You spelled Glock wrong.
Mom exposed the XC
Just got an Apolo 11 but really really want a platypus, just wish they offered layaway
I came here hoping the Apollo 11 was going to be in the line up. I'm going to get one and my buddy is going to get the Platypus.
@VroomNPew I pick mine up tomorrow morning (was on layaway but paid off, i travel for work).... still trying to shuffle money around to get the platypus
whats it like to have money lolol
@texasplinking Thoughts on Oracle Defense 2311?
I wish tanfoglio would make a 2011. They make 1911s, so maybe in time. Bro you need a tanfoglio in your collection.
I can not afford a new pistol every year.. I´m happy with my mighty Clock 19. She works fine. I hit what i´m aiming for. And... that´s all, what i need. Nice bling bling don´t count, in a home invation situation. Training do. Be good in using your tools. Nice Guns are optional. Have fun with this cool guns from this video, if it don´t hurt your bank account. Ammo for 1000 $ and making steel make ding with a used Glock Gen 3, with a smushy trigger,? Best skill ever ... ;) Life is good, today...Have fun. Best regards from Germany.
The one you make yourself
Colors on the platypus?
Would love to see you come to Mammoth Sniper Challenge II in Arkansas next March! 🦣
Is she a better shooter than bro
I wish there were more 2011s that aren’t overstyled, monolithic, or 9mm
All of mine are Staccato. XC, P, C2, 2023 CS, 2024 C and the older single stack C.
Good review, moms is awesome
Personal opinion, if I'm carrying something that big and heavy, I will not be shooting 9mm. I do own a lot of handguns, but my carry 9mm is an STI Staccato. Yes, that is correct, prior to the name change STI put out a single-stack in 9mm, officer sized pistol and called it the Staccato. For a full sized gun, I've been carrying a SA XDM10 and just picked up an FN 510. They are my winter carry guns, since it's easier for me to CCW a big gun under a coat or jacket versus under a t-shirt. BTW, that STI has almost 5k rounds through it, as I shot it for USPSA and Steel Challenge. For such a light gun, recoil was nice and I was pretty accurate with it.
We (wife and I) have three staccato’s, one platy. Love them all! I’m thinking of an Alien. lol lol believe it or not, I’m poor. I just make horrible choices lol lol lol
solid video, including your mom was great perspective. I recently grabbed the Staccato C, I love the new cs/c grip and really enjoying shooting it. I've been meaning to check out a Prodigy, Springfield makes great guns at good price points.
sounds like a Bull Armory 4.25" + Platypus > Staccato XC. You can get a CC gun and a home defense gun for an XC that doesn't do either as good as those 2 guns.
I carry a Para Ordinance warthog everyday. Great gun. All Paras are great You can still get ahold of them. Wasn’t Para Ordinance the original double stack 1911?
Great video showing differences between the models available. Based on their overall sizes, they were designed for competition, or duty but not conceal carry. Based on the high price points, I would not buy any of them.
Thanks for the run-down!!

I can't wait for that ported and comped Bul armory that comes out next year
Out of what you had I'd go with the platypus it takes glock mags and I can get it how I want from the beginning. No comp'd option yet but that's going to be an option I hope.
Im currently saving to build my first dmr. But would love to get one eventually
Chin Chin hahah love it. She sounds like my mom.
????? Prodigy Comp or Bul TAC Pro
None but Glock lol
I have too much fun customizing removable fcu's like 365's and echelons, porting and comps with aluminum frames are super fun
Too much for me 😢
U need an apache.
Looks like you're swatting at flies!
