Honeycrisp was the first apple I bought when I moved to the US. It caught my eye because it was 3 times the size of the apples I was used to and once I tasted one I absolutely fell in love. Delicious and I love the crisp texture.
@@A.I.B.29 yes! About a month ago the Braeburn apples were my favorite! Then it switched to Empire! Now they are both getting soft so I’m looking for a new fav!
Me too, my 4 favorites are fuji, snap dragon, honey crisp, and cosmic crisp they have a apple rankings website and they're so off they have a sweet tango as #1 apple for me it make top 10 for now I could have gotten a bad apple they might be out of season I've noticed the apples I've bought in mid to late September are far better than the ones I'm buying in late November they say the sweet tango has the loudest crush to me it was on soft side maybe I got a bad apple I have 2 more if they're both soft could be out of season
Red delicious isn't so much popular as it is commonly bought by cafeterias because it is relatively inexpensive because there are way more red delicious trees than we should have and it takes time to switch your orchards to another verity that people actually like the taste and texture of.
I love Ambrosia now, its most like jollyrancher with grape twist in the end of the flavor profile. I've always loved the Macintosh. Pink lady is always a great one too. I lean more towards the gentle tart and intriguing sweet. Great video and reviews gents thank you !
If you ever see 'Envy' (Royal Gala and Braeburn hybrid), 'EverCrisp' (Fuji and Honeycrisp hybrid) or 'SnapDragon' apples, I hope you give them a try. Sweet and crisp. The last two varieties weren't available very long. Fuji apples are more affordable, but those new varieties are well worth a try.
@@tristanbracken6054 If you see SugarBee apples (a hybrid between Honeycrisp and an unknown variety), I hope you give this very sweet and crisp apple a try! Cosmic Crisp (a Honeycrisp and Enterprise apple hybrid) are also worth a try, but I preferred SugarBee apples. Fortunately, there are many varieties to suit different tastes. Hope I can find Snapdragons the next time they're in season.
'WildTwist' apples (a Honeycrisp / Cripps Pink hybrid) are also worth picking up, if you ever see them. That variety (along with SugarBee apples) were only available in commercial packaging. Hopefully someone has posted when all of these apples (especially the commercial varieties) will be harvested.
My favorites are Envy,Golden Delicous, and Ambrosia. Im a big fan of sweet apples. The Envy is basically a sweeter Honey Crisp. Golden delicious are even sweeter, the sweetest I've ever tasted. And the ambrosia is a nice sweet and mild floral tasting soft crunch apples. In terms of crunch from least to most it goes Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, then Envy. Envy being the crunchiest.
I'm partial to McIntosh... a texture that's easy to bite into & chew, very juicy, and a unique/distinguishable flavor vs. most others, which are mainly just degrees of balance between sweet and tart, except for Granny Smith, which are uniquely tart. Unfortunately, Macs lose their characteristic flavor quickly, so you have to get them soon after they're picked ripe.
Tried the cosmic crisp today. It was alright. Better than the mass market honeycrisp that are bland compared to what they were 5 years ago. Cripps Pink is still my favorite.
I like many varieties of apples. I’ve been hitting Ambrosia pretty hard for quite a while. Absolutely love them. I live in MN where Honeycrisp was developed but they are pricey. Like them a lot but there are other, cheaper apples that are very good, too.
My favourite apple is - Granny Smith. I love it's tartness (and the fact that is not too much sweet). This is also the best apple for me. It can be used in baking, but you can also eat it out of hand. Other apples are definitely sweeter, and there are apples that are so sweet (up to the point where their sweetness level rivals with sweetness of white chocolate (which is extremely, ultra ultra sweet)). Because of this, I love Granny Smith Apples. They are one of the sourest apples. Their sourness and tartness is so refreshing to me and I enjoy in their tart flavour. So, the best (and tastiest) apples are the Granny Smith apples. They are sour, tart, delicious and yummy to me (with a very subtle sweetness).
I tried the koru type from new Zealand and it was better than honey crisp. To check the crispness you flick it like you are shooting a marble and the higher tone will show it is crisper.
Fuji are tricky. You find one out of three apples that is very good. But Macintosh apples are pretty consistent. They do have a tendency of getting bad sooner. But they rot on the outside unlike the red delicious. The red delicious would look great on the outside, but when they get bad it is not until you bite into them, you notice. Granny smith are pretty on the outside, but its that yellow apple with spots and sometimes red in spots that takes the cake on this one. There is a similar colored pair that is just as good. They are not known for their aesthetic beauty though.
Honeycrisps are my favorite, but I rarely get them because of the cost. Fuji and gala come in second and third (which is which place depends on which I have in the house at the moment lol)
Same with me. Granny Smith are the best apples ever. I also love their sour taste, and other apples are not that sour (and some are sickeningly sweet like Fuji).
Well from what i've heard, Granny Smith apples don't taste very good alone (unless you like sour) but they are the the go-to apple for apple pie, apple crisp and things like that, after you add the sugar and cinnoman and bake it, it takes away the sourness. Using any other kind of apple will make your dessert TOO sweet.
They are, of course. Granny Smith are the best apples ever. They are great for eating out of the hand and baking and their sour taste is so refreshing.
Any homegrown apple straight off the tree will make you never want a store bought apple again. They change flavor and complexity the longer you leave them on the tree. The same variety can have many different flavors throughout the ripening process

5:13 they both harmonize with their "hmm"s ; appreciated very much
i find that pink ladies have a nice complexity of sweet and tart but not too tart. They have a great flavor profile.
Yes! I bought 10 different varieties and tasted them all. Pink lady won, fuji took 2nd, juici 3rd
Agreed.
They're harder on my teeth. They have to be the hardest apple ever
Pink ladies are my fav 🍎
They’re too hard though

Lol it’s my favorite fruit
1. Fuji
2. Honeycrisp
3. Gala
Great Review. 👍
I’ve never been disappointed with Fuji. Sweet and the perfect texture.
When available, I eat em twice a day. 10/10.
Envy Apple gets my vote
Pink ladies, or cripps pink, are soooo great. They take my vote
Fuji and Honeycrisp are easily the best ones you can find at your average market. Granny Smith's are great for baking though.
I like pink lady somewhat more but neither of those are bad apples.
I’m a Gala Apple lover, you gotta get fresh gala the firm ones in Kroger
McIntosh and Pink Lady, for me. Next, Granny Smith. I love the sour taste.
Pink lady is my favorite
bapp0485 pink lady use to be my favorite. Now I don’t even look at them since trying Juici and Ruby Frost. Give them a try!

Yep, when they called red delicious popular I was like "no way." I have never met someone who loves them, at most a person will just say "meh."

Man, this makes me think of going back to the orchard this september.
Different apples take different eating styles. Don't forget the smack, mix air into each bite. Even mushy apples have their place.

All apples seem to be sweet and tart.. my favorite is Honeycrisp . It's like the Fuji

Sugarbeet apples only grow two months in an entire year so you’re probably going to have to wait another year to try the apple sugar Bee
I take offense to not rating Macintosh a 10
Loved this!
Fuji🍏is my favorite also💓💓
