How to make clay pendants

- This simple tutorial will show you how I make ceramic pendants. I use clay that must be fired in a kiln but these pendants could be made out of other types of clay that can be fired in your household oven. Good luck, have fun, and be creative!

What clay does he use
I have no idea ... good question
Thank you
Thank you for watching... new videos coming soon!
Hey amazing video! What clay do U use? Where can I purchase it? Your work is so 😭
All the pendants are beautiful...is this air dry cermic clay? Which varnish u used for this shining glossy effect ?
How lovely
Thank you for this great tutorial. What gauge kiln wire do you use?
20 - 22 gauge works great!
@@EarthInspired Perfect, thanks for responding!
Hello. Just want to ask, what kind of clay is this? Thank you
How do you fire these little pendant kiln or torch?
Great video. Thanks
Sooo cool
What kind of glazes do you use please? Im about to purchase my first lot to try out on my pendants inspired by your beautiful work! 😊
Dove mi consigli di comprare il filo di acciaio per creare il perno per i ciondoli? E se posso impostarlo già a crudo oppure mi consigli a fine cottura incollandolo con apposita colla? Grazie 🙏😊
I love this a lot! Thanks a bundle!
But would you mind telling me what temperature to heat it at and for how long? And can I have the link to the specific wire? I know exactly what shape to make mine...
Thanks again!
The time and temperature are dependent on the type of clay you're using and/or glaze…. I don't have a link for the wire. If you search "nichrome wire for sale" online you will find it no problem. 20 to 22 gauge is a great place to start. Thanks! Hope this helps.
I know this is an old video so idk if you’ll see this but have you tried firing with the wire at cone 10? I’ve heard that it can work but I know most wire is only “supposed to” work to cone 6. Thanks!:)
Not sure if it will work. I only ever took it to cone 04... I would definitely try it though. Good luck!
@@EarthInspired thanks for the reply! I’ll test it out and let you know👀
@@EarthInspired just wanted to let you know that I just pulled my little test pendant out of the kiln and it held up in cone ten! I read someone say that you just have to make sure not to get glaze on it so I made sure it was glaze free and it came out fine:)
@lauren Wow! Thank you very much for letting me know!
@@EarthInspired of course! ty for your informative videos!:)
Thank you for the video, how do you color it?
Hey :) I was wondering how you fire the pendants with wire? Do you hang them on a wire on a bead rack or flat?
Sir is this Earth Clay?
What color / brand is the blue glaze on the swirl pendant? 🌸
Hello there... It is actually a homemade glaze. Very easy to make. I call it Tranquility. It is best suited for Raku applications... I'll have to find the recipe and included in the glazing and firing video we're going to put out in a few weeks. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Cute, but I'm not a rustic gal. If you put a hole in it, you then place a sterling jump ring in to hang, and it will look nicer. These are very cute pendants, dress them up a little.😁
So how do you fire the glazed in a kiln without the furniture print on it?
The pendants are not glazed on the backside.
I tried to use the wire for first time. I put the wire in the clay but it moves a bit, will I have any problem after firing? Will it come apart? Thanks a advance
Hello, can you help me please understand where i can get this metal?
It's called nichrome wire. If they don't have it at a local pottery shop best place is online. Good luck
Could you please tell me. How you make a wire lope?
We have a video that goes over the process!
can we use such pendants without the heating/firing/baking process after they've dried?
That would depend on what type of clay you use. My clay requires firing in a kiln. There are air dry clay options out there. Thanks!
@@EarthInspired i see, thank u!
Hello, may I ask what kind of material is the high temperature resistant hook that can be fired together? I'd like to buy some, but I don't know the name
The wire is Nichrome wire. You can buy it online pretty easily. I typically use 20 gauge.
Just getting started...what type of kiln do I purchase to begin my clay beads and pendants?
That's not necessarily an easy straight forward answer. All depends on what kind of clay you're using. I've got an electric kiln I use to bisque fire the clay. Then I have a raku kiln I built out of an old electric kiln that I fire the glaze with. Good luck and thanks for watching.
What gauge is the wire you use? I found 17 gauge and 24 gauge wire for use in kilns on line.l
I usually use 20 gauge... this may be a little stiff to work with but I find it keeps the loop from deforming easily.
What type of clay are you using please?
What clay do you use
I use Standard brand 239 raku clay.
Just bought a Paragon QuickFire kiln. Can I fire something like your pendants in it? I believe that it reaches 2000°. How long would I fire it for? Thanks in advance!
Where can I buy those metalic molds?
What clay is that
Where is th visual???
What is the name of the wire used?
I use 20 gauge nichrome wire.
Is there underglaze or anything on the back of the pendants?
Look at the ceramic products in this store.

what is the gauge of this wire?
Monica Prado the finished pendants in the video had a smaller gauge wire. Typically I'm using 20-22 gauge.
Thanks for the reply.
Looking for an inexpensive tabletop kiln now.
You've inspired me!
