In this video, we will use a tree with woodturning to create a goblet from a Muku Tree logs.
I revenged because I failed last time.
The cup more thinner and increased the number of rings to two.
Since it was quite fashionable, I put it on a shelf and decorate it as an object.
In the next video, we will create a vase from a log with rough edges.

My late father would make goblets with rings like this on his lathe. Watching this is bringing back all kinds of memories. I'm thankful I still have some of them. Thank you for doing this craft.

The teacher I admire is Shigenobu Inoue, the first woodturner in Japan. He can reduce the thickness to 0.2mm. I will post the website, so if you like thin works, please have a look.

You might be interested to know that people who make violins and cellos have also used a similar technique when carving the belly of the instrument i.e of gradually taking off wood guided by a light behind the wood, saves having to keep measuring every few seconds with a thickness gauge.
