My last two months have been shitty, and i'm a person that sees the bright side, i was so bored today because i've milked all genres i like i needed something new, this is a beginning. Thanks for the vid.
You SIR for all of this, this is shit BUT this is THE shit we need! You are not alone with with stuff! From a alcoholic drummer this is VERY nice! Let's go! No bs here
@@DBeatDad its pretty funny when i saw the thumbnail i was like "he better put that one Skitsystem song on there" haha, killer list man. All 5 r my go to D-beat bands
Consume - The end of tomorrows one of the best openings ive ever heard on a recording of any genre you really need to cover one of the faster black uniforms songs, man !!
Totally agree that Tragedy are a gold mine of fun drum parts and intros and a number of songs could've been chosen. Personally, The Day After is one of my favourite intros ever. The guitars are so stupidly EPIC, like it could be something from some pompous symphonic metal band or even some soundtrack and they get so well underscored by the crashes. Meanwhile, the aggressive snare absolutely rips into it and gives it this hungry edge, like "Let's go to fucking war, right now!" and then you get those tom hits for that delicious, deep, epic extra oomph! that only toms can give. Better yet, they don't overfeed you the toms, the pattern alters. And the finishing masterstroke is that one single snare hit that comes after the crashes, it's that perfect extra detail, which elevates the whole thing onto another level. It really is some of the best 25 seconds you can find in music. The downside? It's entirely too short. :D
I agree. Tragedy in my opinion stand out completely from the "pack" they are very creative, thoughtful in how they write their songs. Not surprisingly which makes them one of the best Punk bands period in my opinion.
Ace! Brings back great memories of seeing these bands of the years and interesting to see the intro drums clearly rather than though a haze of booze, smoke spikes and dreads haha
Cool list. Bastard-Misery Tragedy-Conflicting Ideas His Hero Is Gone-Paranoid Secured ZOUO-Sons of Satan Martyrdöd-Handlöst Fallen Ängel My current TOP5.
Great choices and great drum covers on each song. I respect your decisions, all killer bands. In my top 5 I'd include Dödsdomd, Consume, Totalitär, Aus-Rotten and Masskontroll. Also you did pronounce Skitsystem correctly in Swedish. Skit is thrown a lot in Swedish punk, d beat and crust bands so it's easy to recognize.
Couldn't agree more with your choises man. Wolfpack/Wolfbrigade always so raw and kicks in right away with every album, just love em. Discharge a legend and so is Tragedy. Skitsystem very very nice band and ofc Disfear. Hard to name a bigger, better band out there from D-beat especialy on the intros than Disfear. Their Intros are just so damn memorable and epic. Just so sad Tomas works more on At the Gates, I think it's time for him to kick back in with Disfear and drop a big bomb on us in form of an album!
Tomppa did join Disfear again. They played a few shows a couple of years ago, and are active again. However no announcement of a new album (yet) but I do hope it happens!
Great selection, personally I'd like to see some Disrupt but just because they're my favourite but there's so many options you could've chosen - you could have done a top 100! Thanks for the video, its inspired me to get my kit set up!
I think you mean Consume instead of Disrupt. Can't see any reason why that would be the best intro as it is just a d-beat but the kick pattern is changed to the floor tom.
Great video and excellent drumming. I might suggest the intro to Disclose 'Wardead' - love the way the "beat" seems to emerge from total chaos. Incidentally, when did 'D-Beat' actually emerge as a genre term? I use the Realities of War drum beat when we recorded 'Stoke Newington Eight' on the 2nd Apostles EP (summer 1983) but just tought of it as The Discharge beat.... Peace x
Thank you for the comment & suggestion. I have no idea when it was categorized as a sub genre. I always defined it more as a drum beat but I guess that could be because I play Drums! But many years later, I would agree that its formed its own sub genre and its a huge influence to many bands in the last 2 decades.
Awesome, i would have loved to see los restos de la esfera or la herida es el comienzo from ictus (but in those there is not much d beat until the intro is out 😂)
Great list. Skitsystem always has a bunch of great beats. Always loved that Tragedy intro. GBH- Race against Time..I think you've done that one. Technically not D-beat I know.
Thank you for the suggestion! When you can, check out some of the other videos on this channel. Here is an Antimaster one: ua-cam.com/video/_FyfO3cUW3E/v-deo.html
Yo sick vid as always! Unrelated question, but how loud is this ekit? I've been looking into getting this model for myself pretty closely but I know that even the ekits can be pretty loud from just sticks clacking against the pads and especially the beaters against the bassdrum pad. You think this would be quiet enough to play if I'm on the bottom floor of my apartment and play during the day?
@@DBeatDad yeah, I left my comment a year ago. I share the last thing that I recorded. Greetingsfrom Argentina! ua-cam.com/video/wGNA3VDRwAw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=EzequielMunz
Actually is that even d-beat? I slowed down a vid of them playing it live and was pretty sure it was, but now I’m not sure. Help a newer drummer out lol, can someone confirm?
The third pronounciation of Skitsystem was totally on point. Badass drumming. Do you just play over the original track, or have you got drumless versions?
If you're asking about the difference between the sound of the music, I would say D Beat is more lower tones, most bands tune lower to make it heavier, at times more melodic, different structures to the songs... Hardcore is pretty straight forward, simple but great. Usually not too many different types of sound in a song, and fairly faster and shorter songs.
