I've been using this rim for 6 years now and I still love it. The alcantara looks like crap by now and there's a spot were the glue came undone so I fixed it with some tape. I started using it on my T500, then it moved to the TS PC Racer and now it's on my T818. I disagree when people say this wheel isn't versatile. I use it for rally, street cars, classic and classic racing cars. The shifters are not great but they never failed on me, same goes with the buttons. I have been eyeing the new R32 EVO rim to replace the R383 and if you are buying new then that one seems the way to go for sure.
also i like that it is almost as close to the size of the real porsche GT3RS wheel (one of my fav cars in sims), which is 36cm. so for me, it'd be kinda unrealistic to drive any smaller wheel.
I primarily got this wheel for Oval racing and I have to say it's great for that too. Definitely too big for formula/high downforce racing but for anything on dirt or high oversteer cars its great.
I currently have a T300 with the Ferrari 599XX wheel. Do you think it's worth selling the 599XX one & switching to this one? They're very similiar but I like how the R383 has buttons outside of the wheel spokes which also means you could really easily install a "proper" steering wheel to it using a simple adapter without losing access to some of the buttons. It's also fully round unlike the 599XX which has a flat bottom altough that isn't as big of an issue to me. The only thing that worries me about it is the weight as looking at TM's website, the R383 seems to be the heaviest out of them all at over 1,7kg where as the 599XX is 300g lighter
I have never used the 599XX wheel, it does look really cool. The main difference for me would be what I would mostly use it for, as the round wheel is really nice for rally driving, while the 599XX would be more for GT racing, both are nice wheels.
@@Raes.S Yeha, both of them look equally good. My sim stuff consists primarily of trucking, driving random cars in BeamNG, tracking a sport/super car & drifting from time to time in AC, so I feel like a rounder wheel wouldn't be as of much use in those except for drifting as having a flat bottom is minorly annoying but not a deal breaker. I'd mainly want the R383 just for the buttons being on the outside of the rim
Hi great video and I see your using the PS5 I've just purchased this amd it arrives today, I would like to ask is it a easy start up with it on ps5 etc as with the original TG2 wheel we have to press the PS button to sign in with the wheel. I dont see a ps button as it's a replica so which button is it we press and was it able to play out the box or did it need to connect to a laptop etc. Thanks Wayne
Thank you for the kind words! When the PS is on, there is a PS button you can click on the steering wheel to connect it to the PS. On mine this is S1. It takes a bit to get used to the button layout. No need to connect to a laptop, you can also connect it to Wifi so it can do updates wirelessly.
What about the buttons on PS5 (X, O, Square, Triangle)? Where are they? Is it possible to operate the game menu with this hoop without turning on the gamepad?
It’s not real suede, but feels pretty good for the price. It will brake in over time as the first couple times using it, you will get some black fibers on your hands/floor.

Hello, they are integrated into the wheel, and can be reprogrammed. For instance, X is 10- and O is 1+, Options is the oil button etc.

could you use it for normal racing like forza 8 horizon 5 and f1 23?
One could do that, but I find it too large for F1. Besides that, it is big enough to be a realistic option, size wise.
