I’ll try that. I had the axle supported with a pipe jack, but didn’t support the radius arm. A quick google led me to a few old British men saying to get the sawzall...
@@brian_scotto Judging by the lack of anti-seize on that unit and the sand, water etc it's seen, chopping is probably the way to go! Might be able to just snip the head off and punch it through, but you don't want to damage the mount ears so might have to get up inside with the cutoff. Hope to see some more progress, I really like this thing. And to anyone reading, this is why we use anti-seize/Koppr-Kote/whatever on basically everything! Save a life, lube that shit up.
@@brian_scotto either oxy-acytelon which will make the shop smell like molten rubber or take a cut-off wheel on a angle grinder and slice it open if you wanna save the bolt or cut it off clean if you have a new bolt. if you are saving the bolt you will have to cut the outer sleeve in two spot to get to the inner and give it some heat. imo get a new bolt and hack it off with the grinder, faster and less headaches.
Scotto...as much as you get made fun of for owning non running cars I honestly don't know how you manage life and wrenching. There should be a rant video on how Scotto runs his household, his company, and his fleet as bonus content. Kudos my guy can't wait to see any of the cars not run, but RIP!
We all talk a lot of shit...and I could probably out wrench the man with my toes (i got those fuckin gorilla feet, don't doubt me)...but I sure as shit can't run a company. I can barely run my bank account. I'm lucky to be wearing pants most days. Nothing but respect for the multi-talented from this one trick pony.
It’s funny because I feel like the value of his time has appreciated far more the then it’s worth it for him to actually fix up this car himself so I really appreciate it because I feel that he is doing it out of passion
My dad was actually one of the owners of RTE Fab this is so cool. He doesn't fab much any more but he still loves his rovers lol. Definitely showing him this video!
Im a mechanic in the UK .. any landrover suspension work, order new bolts and a pack of wrecking saw blades before the car even goes on a lift, cut the old ones out on the inside of the bushings (less chance of damaging the mounts) press out old bushings , and re-assemble. we use salt on our roads here in the UK, even at 4-5 years old the bolts seize in the steel inserts in the bushings on current landrovers. just is what it is. Plenty of anti-seize on reassembly.
Dude i give you crap at times (love not hate) but being a brit i do agree virtually anything that was made by leyland, austin, rover, mg etc is junk, They got lucky now and again like with there 4x4's drivetrain but the build quality is diabolical and the electrics have a free added option which is they sometimes work, Much respect 🤘
Scotto later change the transfer case to the twin stick type considering you put ARB lockers Reason, that away if you get stuck and you don't need your front end to work you shut off the front ARB locker and can put the front in neutral. Also gives you a lower range of gears with twin stick.
To fix your stuck-in bolt problem (16:45 or so in the vid), just torch the bushing out and replace it if penetrant doesn't work. Probably not osha approved approve but it works.
I like how Scotto explains. It makes sense. But come man, I know you wanna it done, finished. For your wife, gotta get back out there camping and wheeling. Sometimes you need encouragement. I want to see how that cummins does. And a Manual!! Yes!! SCOTTO!! SCOTTO!!🤘😎🏁🇺🇸
Looks in the same state as about 9 months ago - not sure if that's good or bad, as I was afraid I'd missed the rest of the build but there's been no progress to post about. This is a build I am keen to follow, too! Ah, making some good progress 👍 - but so much still to do 😒
I said the same thing about my project car...oh i'll get it running and drop in new bushes when its all running nice and on the road....Never did those bushes lol.
@@japopo5533 Hey, I'm from Tennessee. We're a little further away from the equator... and bath salts.. and gators.. and pythons... Fuck. You guy's are like our very own Australia.
Oh wow, I commented on Ken Blocks fleet video saying Scotto should only get to drive the Hoonicorn when he finishes the Landie and the Nova, guess he's making good on that carcaine rehab :D
The rear window problem is probably the ecu behind the glovebox. It will just need some re soldering of cracked joints. I’ve just done it to two of our discos!
I feel like top and bottom shock mount pins should be clocked 90 degrees. That way it would allow the axle some rotational and side to side movement without stressing the mounts.
Im currently tearing my truck down and I wish my 25 year old Suburban had the amount of rust Scotto was fighting... New England is a brutal automobile killer
@16:51: You're dealing with Galvanic Corrosion. It's stuck on there permanently. Cut the head of the bolt off and drill out the remnants until you can drop the link out. Then press out/burn out the old bushing.
Is there a video of this actually running? I heard the engine used got very bad reviews after people swapped them into their rigs. Well, I will probably be on Social security before this rig ever runs...
😀😀😀😀😀😀🤣🤣🤣😂😀. Love these videos of Scotto “working” on his cars , half the video he has to explain everything first and make excuses as to why he don’t finish them 👍👍👍. On a side note he’s always got some trick way on how to do somthing and that holds him up a Wile and explains how and why he got past it 👍 Good job bud hope it gets done sooooooooooon 😉
Why isn't anybody talking about the fact that K truck is running?!?!
Because not everyone watches to the very end. That’s where we hide the gems! Next week, enter the Kei Hole: A full week of Kei Truck getting finished.
#naptimeKtruck? I subscribed like 2 years a go to see that build, and yeah, maybe they actually did something to it now???

You probably won’t see this Scotto but support that radius arm and push it up a little bit and that bolt will most likely come straight out 👍

90s isn't too bad as long as you stay hydrated. It's the triple digits and 70%+ humidity that you gotta be wary of.

Rear window issue is most likely a popped solder joint on the power window control ecu located behind the glove box. They all do it.
