I found it interesting that he said you needed to be short to drive an original 427 Cobra. I'm 6'6" and I have an original that I purchased in 1968. I drove it as my every day car for the first 4 years I owned it so obviously I fit in it. I did take the seat tracks off and bolted the driver's seat to the floor to give me a bit more head room with the soft top on. The car had 9,000 miles when I purchased it and I put about 48,000 miles in the first 4 years. It currently has 81,600 miles.
Yeah I believe Shelby was 6'4 and he raced them! Mine is a lone star replica but I very much enjoy it I'm 6'4 280lbs and fit nice in it have been on couple hour drives with no problems
@@culbycars We did around 1,200 miles on our honeymoon. We also did some 12 hour rallies back in the early 70s. Our last fairly long trip was about 6 hours each way. Coming back it was 95 degrees on I5 and my wife suffered from the heat. She informed me it was her last long trip in the Cobra.
@@rayshepherd2479 love to hear that! My wife absolutely loves ours and could care less about a radio or any other modern aminaties she just smiles the whole ride! 👍
My goodness, that is RED!!! Jeremy is one lucky man to not only get this as an heirloom but also to have a Grandpa cool enough to have it in the first place!
i love AutoFocus you get to see some great cars i also like how you park out side the church first almost like you get a blessing before the drive stay blessed every one .
At 19:15 when Jeremy giggles cracked me up. That's just about every car guy on the planets reaction. Love this Larry, nothing but the best from my man Mr Chen. That car is insane and a dream. Simply beautiful. Don't judge us ok, two guys in a convertible hahahaha that's great.
I couldn't agree more with that sentiment @ 10:26. After driving back to the Bay Area from Denver in my 62 Impala, I unloaded my car, cleaned it, had dinner and drove it around for an hour.
"He GLEW!" 4:58 Glew is definitely the past tense of glow when you're in the process of describing someone's reaction to a 427 Cobra. Legit word my man. :)
in my opinion Larry has the best cars channel in youtube (informative, relatable, creativly produced, appreciative to the builders and car cultur based)
First car I ever had was a Bberago 1:24 model of a Cobra when I was about 10years old. It was this red and watching this video brings back a bunch of memories....... kinda wish I not sold my collection now.........Love it. Grate video lush car
I'm in the UK and the 427 Cobra is my dream car - absolutely love these things and would have one over of the modern hypercars (well maybe not the McLaren P1)... fantastic car and I hope the owner enjoys every second with it and keeps it in the family!!
Hey Larry Thank you! Thank you Thank you for this shoot!!! oh this is my dream car ❤️❤️❤️ God bless you and owner!!!! it was perfect to watch this video again and agan👍👍👍
In '68, or thereabouts, the UK Autocar magazine did a full test on a genuine 427 - read it so often as a kid that it fell apart! IIRC, 0-120mph was 10.9 seconds and, back then, a Euro' "sports car" took about that to get to 60! Also recall they had a rear puncture and the jack wouldn't fit under the car because it was so low with the flat.
Really nice replica there , the dash on the originals has the rev counter infront of the driver with oil , temp and feul around it and the speedo infront of the passenger , true to race cars of the era
The whole time this guy was cruising around I was thinking.. Larry's going to pee down his leg a little when he gets on the gas😂 To this day the 427 Cobra is one of the fastest cars from 0-100-0. 2200 lbs, 500 hp. Yes please
Man, I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to build one of these. This video might've pushed me to just say "fuck it" and just build it.
Those cobra have got to be the most American Badass car ever made! I want to build one so bad but I don’t have the time, money or skill… my dream is when I retire I’ll buy a kit car and have that be my retirement project!
I am currently building a factory 5 Cobra replica. I have recently purchased a Shelby 427 Aluminum engine . I still need some parts but have to replenish my cobra stash. Im already $52k and change in the build and still have at least $15-20k to go
You should consider a Factory 5. I looked at them all, and to me FF5 was closest to the original by far. They are the only ones with a tubular frame like the original, they're lighter weight, and they don't lift the side pipes for safety sake. (boo!).
Get rid of that Fram oil filter…ERA is a top notch replica for sure, plus a side oiler? Stunning Just Stunning. And they seem to eat horns? My SPF is on its third horn. ALSO wear those harnesses ALL the time! Jay Leno is a good guy, his treatment of veterans is epic.
Carroll Shelby once stated that his biggest blunder was not going after all the people making Shelby AC Cobra replicas. He never received one penny of royalties for the car that he designed. Carroll Shelby bought all the rights to the British AC Ace car in 1962.

That sound of the 427 at full tilt is V8 therapy at its finest!
Jeremy is a straight up genuine good guy. Glad to see him get the spot light!
Evilendrer make sure and send that Venmo request
Chris W. More than you can afford pal, Ferrari.
My goodness, that is RED!!! Jeremy is one lucky man to not only get this as an heirloom but also to have a Grandpa cool enough to have it in the first place!
Anyone else getting a Chris Farley vibe from Jeremy?
Ty Jeffries yes and even more so when you hang out with him!
I was just thinking the same thing! "Tommy Boy"
Richard....
Big C v2!
How about Corey Harrison from Pawn Stars?
It's not just how rad that song is on the outro, it's how epically matched up with that amazing montage which makes it so potent
shelby and jeremy's grandfather probably having a beer up in auto heaven looking down and watchin jeremy rule the road
that's beautiful

Man you are the hardest working person in the automotive world! Still doing full length videos from your back log before Corona
That shows you that he is a hard ass worker. The hustle don't stop.
O

Loved this he was soo excited to talk about his grandad's cars
Red rocket... Nice Larry! Another incredible ride, you've got the life my dude! 😎🤙
Thanks for being active on UA-cam even through the ongoing pandemic! Wish you all the best! Stay safe & stay healthy!
❤️ Love From Ohio ❤️
Canada here...Larry...best vid yet! Bare bones muscle, sound...what a lil platform...one love!

Welcome back Larry !! The many reason to wait after a night shift job and admire what you have to share.

I also recommend Carfection and Petrolicious if you don't follow those channels already.
Oh man... When you guys went on the Highway and he got on it. Like, my breath got stuck served with goosebumps allover. 🤩
I love the full bumper look! If I had one it would have a full bumper like this.
Love, love, love to see an honest to God FE 427 side oiler!!!
Man I cannot get over that outro, chills every time. Does anyone know the song/sample?
Seriously! I'll watch it every time. Also curious about the music.
.
same
No hits on shazam either....😞
One of the only outros on UA-cam I watch all the way through
0:48 That is a like from me.
That was awesome and Jeremy is my kinda guy so down to earth and what a great gig detailing Jay Leno’s cars
Love the no stripes on the car as well
Dream car material right there! Ugh just at idle it sounds beautiful!

Just make one , not hard , Had mine 27 years .
Jay is the literal car god-emperor
also I want a Cobra now
There are plenty of replicas. Go with either Factory Five or Hawk cars.
Hey Larry Thank you! Thank you Thank you for this shoot!!! oh this is my dream car ❤️❤️❤️ God bless you and owner!!!! it was perfect to watch this video again and agan👍👍👍
Think I’ll go put some more parts on my Factory Five build. Great motivator.

"Everyone has their zen."
I can imagine, especially with the history of this car, that he never gets tired of polishing that Cobra.

Man what a cool guy and a cool car literally smiling here the whole time time
Great video Larry, these past few videos were shot in my neck of the world so it's a trip reconzining where you guys were at.
The motor sounds amazing 👌🏼🔥🔥🔥
I like people that love their cars.
Man, that Outro. Chills, everytime.
Best Hoonigan content.
Nice to see an ERA - refreshing after so many Factory Five and Superformance videos!
It worked...took my mind off from the outside world & the mayhem of the world.
Really awesome show guys the smile on your faces says it all ❤️from Brisbane Australia 👍😎🍺🎶
Man, I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to build one of these. This video might've pushed me to just say "fuck it" and just build it.
I can relate to detailing a Cobra with the top rivets. It's worth it to remove them, but don't drop the backing nut or washer! :)
19:53 "That's not the only thing that released just now!"
And that folks, is how babies are made.
That car is a true classic. And is practically ageless.
Getting a thumbs up from a guy in a Prius while driving this V8 monster is some kind of archievement... ^_^
Man. I gota get me one of those or a speedster replica...
My grandfather passed away and all we had was a garage of farmer's tools and a few barrels of DDT.
Those cobra have got to be the most American Badass car ever made! I want to build one so bad but I don’t have the time, money or skill… my dream is when I retire I’ll buy a kit car and have that be my retirement project!
Really cool down-to-earth guys! All he needs on that car is a red and blue stripe, a few stars, and a plate that say "murica"!!
Autofocus is the best thing on Hoonigan.
Such a nice guy.....that car is the mother of all boss's
That is one magnificent machine

Awesome Cobra 👍 Awesome video want to see more 🤙🤙💙
One of the best sounding engine, for me anyway!
can't wait for the mclaren f1 video, but this one will always hit a spot for dream garage bucket list
How do you know the f1 video is coming out?
LUV LUV THE ENDING MUSIC , nice cobra looks like a whole lot of fun
i fucking love the ending music, wish i knew what it was,
The wheels really make the car look like a real Shelby.
That's why I love cars 😍
Thank you for your work
The OG hoon a kart!?!
That is a sweet ride.
15:58 that girl is more interested in the car than the guy smh lol
Beautiful car! The ultimate!
19:54 I think Larry left some skid marks
Oldschool!☆
Lmao the Alex Steel bit of him hitting himself in the nuts was great!
clip at 5:49 is all it took to give this a like haha plus it's a badass replica. My buddy had a backdraft racing replica and that thing was a beast.
ERA is a great replica kit. And the shape is proper especially rear quarter fenders.
