There is a subtle art to advertising that doesn't feel like advertising... Vintage air just got 16 minutes of screen time that's probably more valuable than 50 normal ads. Hoonigan is killing it in more ways than one.
This is probably the closest you'll ever get to true word-of-mouth advertising, which is the most effective kind. If a friend tells you something is good, you believe them (usually). Viewers put trust in the opinion of the hosts, as they identify with them and feel like they know them as sort of a friend. The way this is shot is very off-the-cuff and personal, making it easy to have this connection as a viewer. Zack being genuinely stoked about the install makes this feel like it's not an ad, but VintageAir doing him a favour, making them look good as well. The guys installing it are also genuine and knowledgeable, not some marketing team dudes who got sent out to make the product look good. Brian Scotto and co. are geniuses, nothing less.
Same thing with painless performance when he wired up Boomhauer. I immediately went to their website to see what was up and I can imagine I’m not the only one. However they both seem to be genuinely good products/ brands so no one can talk shit about it being just an advertisement 👌🏻
How many drift cars have we seen on a Hoonigan channel with a winters quick change diff? I used to think that only drag racers used those, I look at winters in a completely different way now.
@@jacobkohanowski2526 For sure. I like that the people who work for these companies are stoked on the projects they take part of as well. The car world has been in a weird place for quite a few years, and seeing the guys at Hoonigan not screw around with safety (cages, wiring, etc.) is important for up-and-coming car enthusiasts.
I started Junior Year today in High school as an auto collision repair tech student and in the shop we have a 68 Corvette Stingray for our car show project this year
One of the great things about squarebodies, even a big block looks small in that engine compartment. If it's raining you can just crawl inside and close the hood.
nice going vintage air you took one of the world's easiest water pumps to change And made it a pain in the ass I'll just go to the junkyard get the brackets off of an old truck have em powder coated and up date the accessories that way 1/2 the price more convenient and if anything breaks or wears out any auto part store will have what I need.....
As the guy said the pump shouldn't be the issue but you will need other supporting hardware whether that be a just a cooler or a whole new hydraulic steering system (ram/box/rack).
If you are worried about turning 37's then look at getting a new PSC steering gear or some type of assist ram even though the ram would be a bit over kill for the street
You spent a lot of money putting back in the 4x4 trans set up with transfer case, and just a rear drive shaft. Did you also get the front driveshaft set up?
Zac once again showing that his K5 Jimmy is way nicer than mine (I still love my truck tho even though the AC doesn't work, theirs no tach despite having and hei distributor, and the rubber bushings are so dry rotted they make concrete look soft in comparison)
No offence vintage air but I have an ocd about big upgrades, I runn that on all my cars with factory alt works fine. Even when my audio is at peak amp consumption, around 300 amps
Is there any advantage of these kits over a stock ac unit? I have scrapped three trucks now with factory ac and have saved all of them and planned on swapping one in my truck but these look a lot smaller.
People sleep on the 8100... Some pretty amazing performance parts available for them too. I'd love to see a drift car with an 8.1 that has good internals, aluminum heads, a lightweight flywheel and headers. So much torque
@@TheRipster777 Right! Plus mine being paired to a Allison 5spd and 4x4 makes it pretty rare from what I'm told. I use it to tow my 350z drift car but I want an aluminum block ls3 when the time comes for it.
I had a v8 I had to daliy, I put a butterfly valve in the air in take then ran a choke cable to the cab. So I could cut its air flow by like, well pretty much 100% if i closed it
@@michaelsnyder5773 The funny thing is, by choking out your engine like that, but driving it normally, you were probably using significantly MORE fuel than you would've if you left it alone and were easy on the throttle.
If you don't put Boomhauer's BoomTubes (with cutouts and a full cruising exhaust for when you want to be stealthier) on the Jimmy before he goes out the door, I'm gonna be a little upset.
So Zack Is pretty much the only staff member that completes each project in the order he got it??? Or am I missing something. And Dan...okay pretty much everyone but Scotto and Hert. 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤷♂️
i really dont understand why anyone would go with these ridiculously expensive kits when most cars they end up going in had factory AC options that you could go pull from a junkyard for like a quarter the price

exactly. And man they let it look soo easy peasy piff puff "A/C" - BOOM

"Sending Unit" is a good nickname for Zac
Seconded. He should get a jacket with 'Sending Unit' across the shoulders.
GAAAAAAAAAAWD DAAAAAAMN! I missed the Jimmy! I'm still sad that the Boomhauer is going away but the Jimmy will be a beast of it's own! 🤠
My next favorite build already. Zac has the best stuff 👍
At 2:17 if you look to the left of the k5 you see a Ford cossie
Ken blocks promo car
Should’ve put a cam while the front of the motor was mostly apart.
I would typically agree wholeheartedly, but I'm almost sure he has a fairly wild engine build in the works.
Oh don't worry about that, he's got 572 cubic inches of Dart big M going in the thing with a nasty cam and efi according to his post earlier.
I need a/c in my life
Working with the “oh it just needs a charge” problem... so bad compressor lol
Big blocks and K5's. What's not to love? Front Runner...this just keeps getting better!
So neat seeing these dudes put so much passion into their work, you can tell when someone really is living their own dream👍🏼

Zac's car taste is always on point!

Feel like this one will be a competition build too..
I’m still super hyped for this build
These videos always get me motivated to wrench on my K5
Vintage Air is awesome. i installed one of their units on a second gen camaro. instructions were clear and detailed, system worked great

i'd love to see that 'foot tap' greet catch on
Hahahaha so good. When the boss wants something but knows he won't get it done, get the boys on it for you.
I don't know people can live without AC
Normally
windows down and do 70+
Live in Northern Europe..
pretty easily honestly. I've never owned a car with working AC and im still plenty alive
@Dave Micolichek moving air is better than stagnant air
Zac is one of my favorites to watch. Killin it
You do need to run a power steering cooler when you go to bigger tires.
As the guy said the pump shouldn't be the issue but you will need other supporting hardware whether that be a just a cooler or a whole new hydraulic steering system (ram/box/rack).
badass blazer keep it up Zach!
Man I was hoping Zac was gonna give us some burnouts when he backed in 💪
Nice blazer! I’ve seen it out on the road in park city, look forward to more of your videos
Perfect timing with this video....keep up the great content Zac!!!!!!!!
All hail the chop lord!
If you are worried about turning 37's then look at getting a new PSC steering gear or some type of assist ram even though the ram would be a bit over kill for the street
1:25 white cossie. very efficient distraction
AC... AC! Zac have you gone soft on us?
**I hate not having AC. Smart man Zac, smart man**
Zach I wanna see you offroading with Vin and Larry next time they make a trip, put that beast on some dirt!
Almost had a stroke reading the description
The hit marker sound effects on the foot taps lmfao subtly hinting you’re a gamer I see you!
Welcome to Hoonigan. Should go back and watch some of the older stuff. Daily transmission and shit are such good light-hearted thrashing days.
@mister_zachary you have to look into getting a hydro booster for those brakes... that vacuum booster isn't going to cut it for long :)
Not going to lie man, I would have put that pulley on with a swing-press. Hahaha
Brian S. Finish the Disco!
Top of the line best on the market for every part. "Highperformance". Sounds like every boomer that comes into a part store.
Why a reverse rotation water pump? Easy. Reverse rotation water pumps work in Australia!
Damn it, that joke is terrible and amazing at the same time
@Dave Micolichek that's what made it amazing, it's so terrible it looped the spectrum
Like yer toilets. You sit on it in the opposite direction.
@Zac that guy installing the water pump in there like, "you got alotta gawl screwin in here" xD #punintended
Gaawwww Daannng! $2380 for that accessory drive kit!!
last time i was this early zac was clean shaven
Daily mods are best mods
I need A/C in my 74 C-20 454!!, Here in TX the heat is Brutal Heat waves!!& Front Runner Kit. , ,
I always hate on big blocks because of the fuel mileage, but then I remember my 302 gets 13.5 on a good day
Is the reverse water pump for the big block something you can get at a parts store? Would be a bummer to get stuck somewhere needed a water pump
I absolutely love Zac's C10's and I blame him for getting me into trucks that are very unattainable for me.
Will that kit work with a psc hydraulic assistant power steering pump?
@00.10 is that a Escort cosworth in the corner? 😬👍👍
whats that little cosworth escort doing in the background at 1:14
Cool ish, Zachary.
You spent a lot of money putting back in the 4x4 trans set up with transfer case, and just a rear drive shaft. Did you also get the front driveshaft set up?
Amen to the AC.
Of course the REAL purpose of the reverse-flow waterpump is that the water flows through the heads first
I need this kit for my 1966 Chevy C-20 with the factory 327
Really wanna see zac swap the 3.0 duramax in there

Looks like Zac got building tips from Hert ... get someone to do it.
So when the water pump goes bad, because GM, how hard is it to now replace?
I have a vortec 8100 in my Silverado 👍 long live the big block!
Love Zacs videos. Keep em coming!!!!!!

Are you going to keep this one or give it away like the c10?
Anyone know why they are getting rid of the C10?

Any complete A/C kit for a 1983 Chevrolet El Camino?
Reliable daily big block????? $miles per gallon
Gallons per smile
Mine gets 8, no matter what. If I’m pulling somethin,8. If I’m driving backroads, 8. If I’m on the interstate, 8. Lol
I had a v8 I had to daliy, I put a butterfly valve in the air in take then ran a choke cable to the cab. So I could cut its air flow by like, well pretty much 100% if i closed it

Blazer we wanted Vs Blazer we got
Yo when they gonna give this away ?
New parts are so sexy :D Great work!
Calling right hand rule on that cstand
Dumb question why not install the pull when you send the kit?
Seeing other hoonigan cars getting finished or something done to it. where is scotto's segment🙄😅😂😂✌️, love scotto's cars just wanna see it finished🤟
Why you didnt do the big 3 uprgade and why the hell didnt you connected the alternator negativ to the battery. Thos thing woud to the difrence
Do they have an AC kit for a 64 C10?
Is that a tiger striped escort cosworth in the background?
How long did it take to put the ac kit on
Hert is working on his cars more than Zac is?!
Where are the new videos of the k5?
Make a video about how much it cost to build the c10
I don't know why but a part of me wants to see recaro's in the jimmy...
Is this a cosie in the back at the beginning of the vid?🤪
Whats the part number for rhat front runner kit
Power steering pump pulleys haunt me
was it just me or did it look like the belt was gonna rub on the tensioner itself and the pulley?
So when can we expect to see this on Omaze?
So..ummmmm, I see a Grand National sitting there
Yo Zac in a vehicle so old was there anything left to purge from the ac system?
This is cool!
Get it?
Cool. Because AC... ^_^
Gmc Jimmy 👌💪🏼

Why didn't we get to hear it fire up? :(
Yo zack, they Just added the c10 to frikin gta, you can turn it to a k5 and recreate your Car bud
He for got about the phones when he was going over the parts
Is that an Escort Cosworth parked up in the corner......?
This is the truck that should have got the camaros dmax
Needs GMC grill
