It's exterior features the Mazda signature Soul Red color, and has upgraded wheels. On the inside you will some changes in the way of a center console with mid row captain chairs, and luxurious Nappa leather with real wood trim. Even though I recently bought a Hyundai Palisade, the Mazda CX9 remains my favorite 3 row SUV. The Palisade is my wife's daily driver though, and she unfortunately has never liked the CX9. She wasn't even open to the idea of looking at the Mazda. She actually initially liked the Telluride, but when we realized that Kia Dealers weren't dealing on Tellurides, I begin to look seriously at the Palisade. My local Hyundai dealer was willing to deal on the Palisade, and overall, I am very happy with our choice. I even now like it more than the Telluride, however I will never like it more than the CX9. It just speaks to the enthusiast in me.

Raitis rides give the best in depth review. I purchased a grand touring thanks to his reviews and feedback he gave in comparison to a grand Cherokee limited x, and pilot. I’m glad i chose the cx9. So elegant like a Lexus at days end and drives like a car, I’m stoked. It meets my needs and even though the infotainment system and camera quality’s can be better compared to competition, it’s such an amazing crossover regardless.

Just not as good as Accoed or Malibu.
Even the Malibu 1.5t is quicker than the Accord 1.5t in Motor Trend handling test:
"The Malibu lapped our figure-eight course in 27.4 seconds averaging 0.63 g through the process and managed 0.84 g average during lateral acceleration tests"
      2018 Accord 1.5t only registered a lateral grip of 0.81g versus 0.78 and a figure-eight time of 27.7 seconds at 0.61g
A Malibu 1.5T can be had for US$13,000 good luck finding Japanese competition that inexpensive.

I recently drove a ‘21 CX-9. Very impressive in many ways. I don’t need huge cargo capacity or blistering acceleration. Some of who are slightly older like the ride height, ease of step-in, road manners, and overall comfort of a nicely appointed SUV. The CX-9 Signature is on my short list when I am done with the lease on a disappointing Lexus NX.

Its handling and control and feel give you best active safety in the class as it can allow you for safe manouverability and control around risky situations on the road. I can justify 3 or 5 or 10 cubic feet of extra cargo space or 1inch of less leg room for that feel of control in my hands while driving .

Hope they leverage their relationship w/ Toyota & like Subaru - add hybrid options - which are starting to provide both performance & fuel economy w/out compromise. If Mazda combined their 2.5T w/ an electronic motor - battery like the new Highlander it would be killer. Kia & Hyundai are adding a hybrid option to the Sorrento & Sana Fe & I think Mazda needs that option as well. And, again, I don't think nowadays that the hybrid option needs to sacrifice performance. In fact, the low end torque provided by an electronic motor allows you to tune the ICE for performance & efficiency @ speed w/ the electric motor still allowing efficient boost for acceleration & passing.

    Wheels are perfect, for sure!
Rear Quarter window, is nearly perfect, just get rid of the shoulder kick up.
Needs more Hp, for the AWD. Fair price comparison...
I never share Kit-Kat's, regardless of how many I have... Same with Snickers! 🙄
2nd row center console... A Plus! 3rd fold downs are clean and simple, for a manual operating system. HUD, a plus, too.

I test drove one of these recently. Fit, finish and handling were great. Cockpit seemed cramped, touchscreen just seemed a little too far away to use on the fly. Gas pedal has a plastic "nub" on it that clicks when pedal is depressed 3/4 down. So annoying. The salesman said, "that's to tell you the turbo is kicking in." Deal breaker. Love it or hate it looks. Front looks good. Back is hideous. For $47,000? No thanks.

Joe, I think you were enjoying driving a 3 row SUV? And that’s why everyone who loves automobiles should put Mazda on their short list. Question, in your opinion would you select the Mazda CX-9 over the Kia Telluride? Lastly, while the soul red paint is nice, check out the Valencia red on the Acura TLX PMC edition. Wow, I would take that red over this one. The same paint job they put on the NSX super car!

I have been watching these 3-row videos and I have to say I am disappointed with this entry from Mazda. I currently own 2 Mazda's a 3 and a CX-5. I am looking to trade in the Mazda 3 for a three-row as I now have a family to lug around town. I like the Telluride and Highlander much better than the CX-9.
    Here are my biggest Zonks:
    No Panoramic sunroof
The positioning of the infotainment system is lazy, they just placed a screen in the middle of the console.
No wrap around small pockets near the dash ala the highlander
    No qi phone charging capabilities
no A/C vents in the third row
Anyway, thanks for the video's keep them coming I love your work.

The Telluride looks huge to me, but then I don't have 10 kids, I like the snug feel of the CX9 I don't feel like I am driving around in a bus and it gets 26 mpg, my Jeep GC got 10 mpg going downhill, and the Hemi didn't have as much take off power as this Mazda

Rudy Bautista Volkswagen can be reliable if they are maintained properly. I have Jetta 1.4 Tsi and reliable so far.
Toyota is often the choice because of least maintenance cost and dead reliable whereas if Volkswagen is not maintained properly, then they will break down. And maintenance is pricey.

      Not that great...
"...the CX-9 AWD system doesn't send power to the rear wheels quickly enough, which can result in torque steer if you need to accelerate away from a stop quickly."
" In dry conditions, the system is designed to minimize the amount of torque it sends to the rear wheels, which means during full-throttle acceleration, the CX-9 and its 310 lb-ft of torque will chirp the front tires and then proceed to torque-steer, leaving the driver to wrestle with the steering wheel. Considering the AWD control module is monitoring both the accelerator position and steering angle, I feel like the moment the accelerator pedal is depressed fully, power should be moved to the rear to mitigate the effects of all of that torque on the front wheels."
