Your personality is so refreshing and real wow
This is very nice, thank you so much! :)
THATS TRUE !!!!!!! REALLY INSPIRING 😀😀😀!!!!!!!!
Good old mile repeats. ALWAYS a classic tough one. Doesn’t matter if they’re tempo pace. Doesn’t matter if they’re mile pace. Just the words “mile repeats” makes me SHIVERz
Rachael P we always rock out the 1000meter repeats
PASSION IS A FASHION,,,,,, YOU HAVE IT,,, IN ABUNDANCE,,,,,
It doesn't please me to admit this, but I once ran 20 miles in September without a sip of water. Now THAT was stupid!
omg that sounds like a recipe for dehydration! ah!
Still watching in 2021!! I love your content and you have a great personality 💕
4 mile run at 730 mile pace
1000 meter 3:45
800 meter 2:55
600 meter 2:00
400 meter 1:15

4x100 meter at sub 15 seconds
1 mile cool down
Yessss track is back baby

you da best
6:51 lmao we love flailing limbs
love that 😍
lol its an issue
Couldn’t have been posted at a better time
YAS thanks for watching fella :)
My hardest track workout was probably when my coach made us do 30 hard effort 200s fresh out of summer vacation with 1 minute rest between each rep . My lungs felt like they were bleeding
omg that sounds SO HARD!
Yikes ! My coach made us do 20 200’s at 33secs it was incredibly painful least to say. Our break was like 30-50 secs in between 😭
Actually you can’t do 30 200 meters with 1 minute between each. I’m sorry but unless you’re an Olympian I think you should stick to telling the truth. Do you mean like 10? Cus even for Olympic level that’s unreal and actually not good for you as it over exerts you.
Do you have any tips for young cross country runners??? Also you're my inspiration for running honestly.. I absolutely love you Emma. You keep it real and you're so funny. When I have meets I think about if Emma can do it so can I. You've made me so positive and happy. You always find a way to make my day... I Love you so much💙💙
Kailey L take your easy day easy run hard on hard days and push through the race make yourself speed up ever when you think you can’t I’m a freshman in high school I’ve seen too many guys go hard on easy 2-3 mile runs and not able to push themselves on the workouts that should be hard
@@sheyannebusche375 Thank you !!! I'm a freshman in high school too. 😁😁
Kailey L like for me it’s cold and snowy in North Dakota but if you can go to an indoor track that works but for ya we don’t have any so the treadmill works or run hallways or anything
@@sheyannebusche375 You're so nice... Thank you.. 😁😁 thank you for the advice. 😄
Kailey L just hit the season like a truck, Hope you get some big PRs. I’m hoping to break the high school record as a freshman for the mile it’s a 4:33 and my best 8th grade was 4:49 so i really want to break it
TRACK PRE-SEASON STARTS MONDAY!!! Love track a little more than XC (cuz of the colder weather)
Autumn Hester Haha, I live in Florida, the heat in Track is slightly more tolerable. Until March
probably: 4 hill repeats, 4 x 200m 4x broken 800 and then 300-250-2x200. those broken 800s really got me
Mine was 8 200's all out/under 30, with a half lap jog (crawl) between each.
You inspire me to get after it everyday
way to get it done girl!
Hold up, you wore spikes in snow? What were you thinking?
The slow stig clearly I wasn’t thinking hahahahha
@@kaerstyncantu1253 i guess ice is hard, and spikes have no cushion and no heel. so you have no support or cushion while running on a very hard surface.
My hardest workout was a ladder practice we had 100m,200m,400m, 800m, mile times 2 and it was such a hard day my coach had me stay on a really leg tearing pace and I had to try and stay with the boys
makayla mechelle I love those workouts I really excel there with intervals my hardest is gotta be 2 1/2 miles out at 7:00 pace on very steep hills then tempo back at sub 6 minute pace for 2 1/2 back on the hills 80 degrees with some nasty wind this was for Cross Country track workouts are definitely easier
that sounds so hard!!!!!
For me the worst is a ladder up to a mile and back down with a jog lap between every rep
coach made us to 8 hills then 1, 2, 3, 2, 100's. my body was screaming for the sweet release of death by the end
My hardest track workout was definitely a ladder too I literally died by the end and everything was spinning around me I actually thought I was going to pass out on the track 😂😂
My hardest track workout was ...oh wait! I wasn't part of track team. ...but I followed them as they did 3000 meters at 6min pace at the UA campus. I left my shoes there.
haha that sounds difficult, way to get after it!
"don't be a little wuss"- Kelly Oniell
shes the 🐐
This is funny sorry! 😂 (the "cute" night sock)
I’ve done that same workout many times but with a 100 and 50 on top of that on each set and man I remember the first time it was pure death. But then I came to love that one because 7 1ks at 5k goal pace was my actual enemy.
What’s the most important nutrition tip you have for younger runners???
Eat whole foods! And don't stress too much :)
Emma Abrahamson never thought you would actually see this. Thanks
Mile and a half repeats. Literally the only reason I finished the workout was because I was sure I died a couple miles before the end so may as well finish it as my ghost.
I can't believe you had to jump back into racing so quickly!
yeah it was hard! But its honestly the best way for me to get back into shape. It's just really hard!
In junior high I had a coach who’s favorite workouts to make us do were 4 800s, 10 200s, or 8 300s. I’ve never done anything that hard in high school
omg that sounds so hard! The short ones like 300's and 200's make you go lactic so fast
Toughest one I've ever done was 4x60sec time trials with 3mins, 2mins, 1min recovery. My coach reckons there was some formula for a 1500m predictor out of it. All I know was that by the third one I was so lactic I could barely talk. Got through it somehow.
20x400 with 60 sec rest in between
1-10 5k pace
11-13 2 mile pace
14-17 mile pace
3 min rest
Last 3 all out 60 sec rest.
This one was a bitch
omg that sounds so difficult - thats a lot of 400's!
one time in track season we had to do 1 100 2 200s 3 300s 4 400s and then go back down
The hardest (and hypest) workout imo is the Michigan, if you can survive that running goal race pace on the non tempo reps then you know come the end of the season you'll be ready to run your goal time and maybe faster.
omg I haven't ever done that workout, but it sounds SOOOO HARD! I would absolutely die! I don't know how people can get thru that without dying!
You seem fun to be around! I subscribed 😂👍
most difficult XC workout: 8x1k/1min rest with a whopping 6k warmup and 6k cooldown all on rolling hills (!!!) That was TODAY, so it's funny you posted this vid!
omg 6k warm up!?!?! GOSH that is a long workout!!
I loved that video! Love you!
thanks Allison! I really appreciate it :)
Emma you inspire me so much
get after it tanner!
Yes, so true, I still remember my hardest workout 5 years later. Our coach grouped me and two other girls with freakin Alysia Montaño for a ladder. I forget exactly the breakdown, but it was x3. I peed blood and felt like a ghost on our long run the morning after.
YAHOOOO ANOTHER VIDEO. HEY btw I love the commentary videossss
Thanks so much :)
The hardest workout I've ever done is: "The Mount." The premise of the workout is that you run 4x1600 at goal 3k pace. But, pace is thrown to the side. Our coach wants us to run pretty much all out and the coaching staff wants us to race every rep. This year, I ran 4:48.1, 4:49.1, 4:47.4, 4:48.2 with about 4:00 rest in between reps. The Michigan PAILS in comparison to this workout, it IS hard. Most of my teammates are over garbage cans puking after it, I was last year (when I couldn't even finish it) and the year before that.
Spencer Mahon my hardest is gotta be 2 1/2 miles out at 7:00 pace on very steep hills then tempo back at sub 6 minute pace for 2 1/2 back on the hills 80 degrees with some nasty wind this was for Cross Country track workouts are definitely easier (btw I’m a freshman in High school)
OMG that sounds soooooooo hard! Mile repeats are so brutal!!!
It was!!! Idk how I finished it lol
Ian Busche This 4xMIle workout is crazy. It is nuts
we had to do a 3000 at our mile time so we had to take a minute off of our time and i couldn’t function normally for a week afterwards
Notification squad where u at?
WHAT UPPPPP
The Mikekid here:)
lmaoo the way you explained your suffering was literally so adorable ohmyy alsoo I have cross country provincials this weekend (which is like states I think, idk I’m from canada) & I’m freaking out any tips????
tasha give it your all not much that tips will do here just go it’s not gonna matter how fast you run it’s gonna hurt the same I always have a song on repeat in my head for myself anyways
I need a Kelly O’Neill at my workouts
shes the absolute 🐐
My hardest was when I did 2 200s, 2 400s, and 2 more 200s. That’s the day my leg had a stress fracture. I haven’t run since.
omg that sounds like a workout that would make you go lactic in 2 seconds. heal quickly!
My hardest was actually at a track meet. I had to run a 3200, a 1600, the shuttle hurdle, and then the open 800
Wow thats a crazy mix of events! Sounds very difficult!
@@EmmaAbrahamson it was because our main 3200 runner had come down with an injury. So I had to fill in for him
inspirational 😤
haha IT WAS SO HARD
Maybe a 22 mile run at marathon pace with the last 5k all out on the track with my friend pushing for me to go faster :) For track, maybe 5 sets of 3x200, going 80, 90, 100% on each 200 with 60 seconds walking rest. Or maybe it was a 39km workout where I had to do ladder tempos of 5,4,3,2,1 mile with 1 mile float in between. Never recovered and ended up dropping out of the marathon I had 2 weeks later.
omg 22 miles!? Thats crazy!!! Hope you are recovered now!
@@EmmaAbrahamson well since it was a few years ago I sure would hope so, LOL
I love that, the hardest workout I had to do was ladders then live wrestle for 5 minutes then ladders. My profile picture is me literally trying to get back up for my last ladders. It was intense
Jonny Green live wrestling is so draining
omg that sounds so hard!
The hardest workout I’ve ever done, was going comfortably hard (7-8) on 2.4 miles then doing ten 800meters on the track with 30 second breaks in between afterwards run the 2.4 mile again in a comfortably hard pace then a cool down of a mile. ;-;
Tortugaz XDXD Intervals are my strong suit I’d say but my my hardest is gotta be 2 1/2 miles out at 7:00 pace on very steep hills then tempo back at sub 6 minute pace for 2 1/2 back on the hills 80 degrees with some nasty wind this was for Cross Country track workouts are definitely easier
That sounds so hard! way to get it done!
Maybe not the hardest single workout ever, but a consistently grueling one fore me was all out 6x200 with 5 minutes of rest or so. Oh yeah, and it was in the middle of an 8 mile run.
The hardest workout I've ever done was probably 8 300s with a 100m rest recovery and I had to catch up my 2 teammates who started about 15m ahead of me
omg that sounds veryyy hard and stressful! but way to get it done! thats very impressive!
6×320 800 pace 3-4 min rest running between
that sounds sooooo hard!
This is me in basketball and I’m in shape
4 x (4x200, mile right into a 200 that was faster than the other 200s) - I was so in shape for this but I felt dead and did this one by myself which was tough
omg that sounds so difficult! 200's make you go lactic so fast!
So I talked to my high school cross country coach and she used to go to university of Oregon and she thinks she may remember you. Her name we call her is coach Hollie, she graduated 2016
Hmmm I don't know a Hollie I don't think
Emma!! Did you ever get shin splints from running? Have them currently and can’t run because of them and don’t know what to do 😭
Ps love you
I haven't actually! I am sure you can google some remedies though
Anyone else heading into XC high school state champs week? Ya girl is stuck with bad shin splints and pain pills 😣
Also, love you Emma you are so inspirational
I'm only in middle school so the workout is probably pretty easy compared to what you do. We had to do 10, 200s, at 90% with a 200m cool down jog.
That sounds so hard!! 200's make you go lactic SO fast!
Youre funny. Love it!!
Our coach made us do 12 mile-repeats at 15 seconds faster than race pace. That was the worst... and I forgot to mention that it was on the first day of XC.
Stone Johnson Vlogs my hardest is gotta be 2 1/2 miles out at 7:00 pace on very steep hills then tempo back at sub 6 minute pace for 2 1/2 back on the hills 80 degrees with some nasty wind this was for Cross Country track workouts are definitely easier
wait what!?! 12 mile repeats?!
We ran a mile, then repeated it 12 times... but we got a break between them
Love the intro
thanks Annie! It's a little outdated now lol
@@EmmaAbrahamson lol
The hardest workout I have ever done is 8×800 meter repeat or 7×1000 meter repeats. It was a cold day and I had just started my horrible time of month for the first time. I thought I was going to die. I definitely wasn't going to tell anyone so I went to practice and I was dropped on the second rep😱it was painful and awful but I finished that workout and then I went home and just ate my fridge because i was so tired.
Omg 8x800 sounds so difficult!!! But it always feels good finishing a workout like that!
3x3x300 first fast workout of track cutdown to like 400pace at the end and my quads cramped up on the cooldown half mile in and had to walk up to my coach and he looked at me and saw my quad pulsate and said yeah u should probably stop
I’m in 7th grade and going to start track in a few months. I will probably have to do distance since I run xc. Any tips? Suggestions?
Hallie Aslinger do something over the winter even if it’s not much lots of people sit around the winter and have to train so hard just to get in shape again I’m in XC I’m a 400 800 1600 and I’ll probably try the 3200
have fun with it!! And train through the winter time after a short break after XC.
24 by 200m in 32 with 30 seconds rest (Getting legs back to mile pace feel)
AHHH what!!! That sounds SO HARD
Haha love the storytelling. Kerp it up!
Thanks Michelle! I love doing these too and sharing my experiences :)
Last year I got hit with 1200s and let me tell you I would pray we never had to do those again
hahahah those are so hard! we did a lot of 1k's too on our tempo days. Those can be brutal!
So i have stomach issues occasionally where it feels like it tightens up every like 3 minutes. The one time i had that during xc season we had 3200s 1600s 1200s 2 sets. that...was....hell
My hardest workout was the second week into indoor season and I had a new coach who didn’t know my times and paces all that well yet and he gave me a 4 mile run with each mile having a faster pace. The paces were too fast and I had no rest in between so I died after 2 miles...😂😬☹️😂
I live in Eugene
Make merch!!
Yes coming soon!
haha. My mind did not prepare me for how hard it was going to be! Hardest workout ever was 8x1k (pace: start at 3:00 and work from there per 1000) (Rest: was 90 seconds) after all of that, one hard 300 around 40-43 seconds. The catch was if we went faster than what was recommend we would have to keep pace and not go over. I ended up doing another 2k's cuz I jumped the gun too soon. Threw up mid-workout and didn't feel great.
Omg that sounds so hard!! The switch from 1k to 300's is very hard to do
Had the best night of sleep ever!
HI! ILY EMMA🐧
HELLO ILY 2!
" dOn'T bE a LiTtLe WusS " " OkAy
hahahahhahahaha this is actually how I imagined it
20 x alternating 400's between 1:30's and 1:20's per lap... during a blizzard... on a track... in spikes...
omg during a blizzard! That weather factor is huge, and sounds so difficult!
Every bad running story starts with an injury, sickness, or it’s too hot/cold
omfg one time we had 4 1Ks at mile pace.... the sun was BEAMING DOWN and the lactic was through the roof on the second one. Sad to say everyone got cut from the workout LOL
Jennice Herrera yesterday we went 6 1Ks at 3:09 on average for all 6, 1 1/2 minute rest I had to run by myself the guy I normally run with was gone I was out in the front by myself hated it
haha oh no!!! Sometimes that happens lol
we do that workout once a week, apparently it's supposed to build up your speed very well, my opinion is it kills me. got to do it less than an hour's time 😂👍xxx
Sometimes getting up just to go to the fridge can be a struggle.
hahah I feel this
Omg this story is so much like mine! I hurt my knee and had been out for 2 months. It still hurt so bad but i had to get back at it! My coaches are very adamant about waiting for full recovery so I lied and said i was fine. The workout was 200m(20secs rest) 100m (20secs) 100m(20secs) 200m(20secs) all ×4 full out (i tried so hard but i slowed down alot and my knee hurt like you wouldn't beleive) after, it ended up screwing my knee up so bad I have had problems for a full year and it has severely impacted my ability to train. I have finally been ok to run and it has hardly bothered me, but then I dislocated my ankle. I was stubborn in terms of crutches and all that, which i think also added to my recovery time ALOT and i wish i had just swallowed my pride, but its just too late. I can begin to run a little bit again but it honestly still hurts and all that. I am worried it's going to be like my knee but I need to get back! I think this is going to be the end of track/xc and even worse... possibly the end of rugby for me. I don't know what to do but I can't be the cripple anymore, so not only do i have to pretend to be fine, but i have to believe that i am 🤞 wish me luck, tomorrow will be my first day back to actual running.
That sounds so hard omg! hope your first day goes well!
I had a groin strain and i had to lay off all of track season and they needed me in district for the 800m 1 mile and 2 mile byr the end i was hurting so much i wasn't able to walk
omg thats not good! Hope its healed now!
@@EmmaAbrahamson yep it killed me at the end of the season but its been good
I assume you've read Once A Runner.....this makes me think of when Bruce Denton make Quenton run 60 quarters in the moonlight.
I think I have read that book, but im not sure haha.
My toughest workout was 8x1ks in the sand. Not a good day
Lol hardest workout was always when my coach decided to destroy us the first day back from spring break and run 800 repeats
hardest workout hands down was this year xc (high school sophomore) two days before state we ran 4 1/2 miles route then we went to the track and we had to run 2 800s mile pace 4 400s 800s pace then we had to do 4 200s 400 pace. Two freaking days before state what coach does that. The girls aren't that strong of runners and he usually has us do less than the guys but today he had us do the same thing and we were all on the ground right after and once we got home we had to immediately take ice baths. He is not a great coach.
Worst ever. 12 min tempo straight into a 1000 then 800,600,400,200. I cried so much!!
Okay wait I’m having Achilles issues and have been looking for something like that sock...what is it??
www.shoes.com/powerstep-ultrastretch-night-sock/719715/1483760?cm_mmc=googleproductads_pla_with_promotion-
it helps stretch the achilles. Not sure how it specifically heals but it helped me a ton
Ok totally unrelated to this AMAZING video. Idk if u read my comment on ur vid yesterday but my school started selling cold brew coffee today. Tell me how you feel about these coffee cold brew prices. A 16 oz foam cup with ice is $2.25, a 12 oz clear cup with ice is $3.25 and if you pour the ice out of ur cup and just have the cold brew without ice the price is $4.50 like what the heck that is way to expensive y would anyone do that.
Alyssa R that's cheap
I don’t think it’s worth it tho because in my opinion it tastes terrible
lol its an acquired taste
I still think your the best runner, stay beautiful babe xoxo 💖 😘😉
aw this is very nice, thank you!
12 200m repeats 30sec break in between at a 30-32 sec pace I was dead
OMG how did you do that, I would perish
We did this in track last year, but 2 sets of each😂😂
its a brutal workout!
@@EmmaAbrahamson OMG I can't believe you replied😱! Youre such an inspiration to me!!
i read “hardest workout” and i just knew it was the 6 4 3 2 1 these kill me
hahahaha THESE ARE SO HARD OMG
Lmao I got Achilles tendonitis in both feet and didn’t tell my coach, once my season got over I went and got it checked and if I would’ve ran about 1 more week of medium milage I could’ve snapped them
omg thats really not good!! Hope they're healed now!
8 400s at 72
Haha I just finished a district race for XC, and I slipped at the end 😭
Mile repeats
How are you dealing without track and Xc???
It's been a tough transition after running for so many years but its fun exploring other fitness activities :)
Emma Abrahamson
The worst workout was 3 sets of 1000m, 500m, 300m all at 5 minutes mile pace. I thought we were done after the first set, didn’t know what was waiting
I did 400s on a treadmill and injured my Achilles that way
Yeah achilles + Treadmills aren't great friends
Good video
thanks so much :)
You're welcome
Actually I was not alright😂😂
hahahahaha exactly how i felt
Mile repeat day or ladder workouts 😅
omg mile repeats are KILLER wow
The thumbnail's LOL
