Is it just me or was the pan so hot that it toasted the bread but didn’t melt the cheese? Lower heat babe!!!

You can see when Inga did Martha's grilled cheese the scorched butter bits - the skillet was too hot.
Not all foods are cooked best at high temperatures - any chef knows this otherwise sous vide would not work.

I checked out the Martha Stewart recipe and it specifically says medium heat, which on every stove I've ever used is too high for a grilled cheese, and also does not say to use a lid. So if she's following the recipes super specifically then that explains why she commented on the cheese not melting.

You need to understand that she is judging it on a basis where you can eat it regularly. Now take the games for example, you can't find takis everywhere and you can't crush them up everyday to eat it. And all the others have different types of cheese which not everyone can get everywhere.

Yes, tilt the cover so moisture goes out and doesn't drip down into the pan while holding in enough heat.
I never cover the pan when cooking a grilled cheese, but I do cook it on a low enough heat to give a longer cooking time in order to melt the cheese.

She had the heat up way too high on the pan. So the bread toasted before the heat could melt the cheese. You want like low-medium heat for grilled cheese, and it helps to put a lid on the pan when cooking the first half (before flipping) so it traps enough heat to melt the cheese, then remove the lid to flip the sandwich and cook the other half. You end up with melty cheese and crispy toast :)

Flooded with childhood memories watching this, my dad making grilled cheese for us every Sunday-I made Chrissy Teigen's recipe with pepperoni instead of jalapeno's, and it's great :)
You know a delicious bread sandwich?
*Lemme tell you*
• Take two pieces of bread, take 1 or 2 eggs and break them into a plate, take the white part away, we need yolk only.
• Mix the yolk in the plate and add onions, black pepper and extra spices if u want. Mix it.
• take 1 piece of bread and dip it into the plate from both side and put it into a frying pan, quickly put another piece of bread through the same process.
• after slight golden, crack an egg and fry it in another frying pan. When it's half fried (not very liquidy).
• take the egg and put it between the 2 pieces of bread that you just slightly fried.
• (Optional, if u want ur egg liquidy, do not do this) Now fry them all together.
• Now it's ready!! Decorate it with your own choice (I don't judge. Put chillie if you want on it or cheese...)

MELT THE FRICKING CHEESE
How I make mine is I put butter on the pan then the bread and when one side is cooking I put the cheese on the other side when it’s done cooking then I put the other side on so it’s cooked on all four sides I don’t put the cheese before I put it during the bread cooking🤷♀️

Grilled cheese cooks best when the stove is on medium/low, so that that everything in the sandwich cooks completely, and not just the bread gets incinerated while the cheese is still solid and not melted !

Can't have a cheese pull when there's barely any cheese on it, and its not even melted.
When I make a grilled cheese I heat up but sides of the bread in the pan so if the first side is like warm or crunchy you put cheese on that side so it can melt better and then you have time for it to melt while the other side is waiting to get crunchy
I usually cover my grilled cheese the first half of cooking them to ensure the cheese melts. Works great. Just a plate works too if you don't wanna bother with a cover.

Sourdough bread (fresh is best)
Irish butter
Munster
Pepper jack
Gruyere
Extra virgin olive oil
Butter bread generously

I use sour dough bread but you do
Toast bread in pan slightly
Add pepper jack and Munster cheeses
Jalapeños
And this is different but if you don’t want a grilled cheese then add some grilled chicken
I make a nice egg salad grilled cheese, with sweet rye, and coriander, and dill
Use fresh sharp Gouda only. Gouda and rye compliment each other always.
I also make a vegan version with coconut curd, and again coriander, and dill.
Instead of egg salad, i use butter squash mashed potato. To keep everything solid, i batter it and freeze before deep frying.
No one can complain either of these with a bowl of hot tomato soup to warm the soul.
I just can't watch someone do this to grilled cheese. This is an outrage.
