Did you use the 'barrel assembly tool' stated in Sig Cross manual? That's basically a three-lug reaction rod but i cannt find it on the internet. I see a merchant sold them but it's already out of stock. Btw, back to the lower factory torque on barrel nut, is that possible they use the anti-seize and reduce the torque used accordingly during assembly?
Ok, so..where can you get a barrel should you want to swap it to say, 6.5 creedmore or even that 227 fury or 6.8? any news on when that could happen? thanks.
I was not pleased with the groupings for my 308. I think a 16" barrel is too short for this caliber. I ordered a custom 24" barrel, however the adapter nut has proved difficult (so far) to remove from the 16" barrel. Any suggestions.
Hello I am curious about the hand guard, I have a tikka Tac A1 and hate the hand guard top rail. There is an ar15 barrel nut hand guard adapter. Can you measure the inside diameter of the hand guard if you take it off again?
How did you hold the rifle when torqueing it? Did you clamp the rifle on a vise?
Would you be willing to share a link or product name for the barrel tool that worked for you?
How tight is the barrel extension in the receiver? Is there any slop whatsoever before the locking nut is installed?
SOT - Do you wish you had removed the barrel before painting? Love my cross and I am enjoying your videos. Will I need to site in my cross again if I remove the scope to paint? I'm a hunter not a gun enthusiast so I appreciate your common sense approach. Cheers,
What's the torque needed for the jam nut that goes against the extension sleeve
what jam nut wrench did you use for the extension
Anyway you can measure the distance between the handguard and the end of the barrel? Seriously considering buying one and having the barrel sent off to be cut to 14.5 and a SF muzzle device P&W for suppressor and fluted.
Hope you fix the accuracy, i have owned two 6.5 cm’s and both shoot horrible for a “precision rifle”. If this works for you i may try the same. I still own the second rifle…the sig rep i spoke with about sending mine back claimed they havent heard any complaints about accuracy….so i knew sending mine back would do zero good…
Did your groups improve after the barrel was re-installed?
Does the brass inserts for the handgaurd bother anyone? Wish they went ar nut on this
I like the flex cuffs in the background? lol
Well did it work?
Did it help
Everything on mine was loose
Guess you were not happy with the groups?!?..... searching for a flaw in the set-up/assembly. Good luck getting it shooting like a 1500$ rifle should....
