That's not too bad. 15-20 minutes and you're good to go. I didn't know they were that easy. I wish somebody would make some aftermarket barrel extensions. I bet I can recreate that barrel vise. My wheeler vise is halfway there already.
My lock ring is on there really tight. I made sure I'm turning the right way. I'm going to have to get crafty to turn that ring out without damaging it.
Great content my barrel is being shipped from you all and I can’t wait I am so excited. I did look in to it a bit and the comment made by @FC2ESWS is in fact true you can use a 1-1/16” 12 point box wrench in place of the Midwest industries hand guard wrench
You should warn that people are breaking that dowel pin if they do the nuts in this order. You need to loosen that jam nut first while the barrel nut is still on. If you try it afterwards, the only thing holding that barrel extension from spinning is that dowel pin.
Thanks for the video. Very detailed and informative. Btw, the Sig in their manual says to use the action wrench, is that necessary? or i can just handheld and torque it down as in the video?
He didn't torque the barrel back into the action. He said it in the video. If you feel you can get a good torque reading hand holding it, go for it. I had to change a barrel on a sr-25 in the field. Almost anything can be done if you can get the receiver stable enough.
If put second barrel extension on second barrel it was create more easy barreal swap system (like swap barrel to barrel). It is posible to buy barrel extension for sig cross?
Yes, I would have a professional do it. About time you spend the money for all the proper tools, will you know where this is going? Have a professional do it! Very nice video.
Well being we have people on here that believe this is complicated you might want to make sure they know you need go no go gauges for the caliber there installing being with the .470 bolt face you can go with 22cm 6cm 243 6.5cm or 308 but will need gauges for what caliber barrel your installing
Great no-BS video. Strait to the point. I like it
Glad it helped
Very professional and spot on with the warnings for head space 👏
You can also use a 1-1/16" 12 point wrench or crowfoot for that jam nut.
The crowfoot works perfectly.

I wouldn't even try that myself.Nice to know we have professionals like you that we can rely on.Excellent information.
Great detailed video!

Thank you for the valuable info!
Great job on the video very informative very straightforward
Tbh, this sounded super scary but tbose gauges make it super easy!
Thanks for the video
Are you going to add the upcoming new tools in the future?
Any videos of accuracy after install?
Thank you 😊

The jam nut is the one that requires the 1 1/16 12point crowfoot, correct?
@@DrewMonge yeah it's the smaller nut. The bigger one uses an AR armorer's tool.
@@FC2ESWS Thank you!
Thanks for doing this video…do you have one for doing a semi-auto barrel install and adjusting head space? Asking as I’ve never done it before…
Cool video.
Have any of those better tools that Nick mentioned as alternatives to the handguard wrench come to market yet?
Do you know the firing pin diameter on the sig cross bolts
Thanks for the video

I wondered this as well
Not at this time. We are working on a aftermarket
Where can I find the go/no go gauges?
Excellent video, thx.
Glad you liked it!
Where did you get the cross tag on the hand guard
Are you removing the ejector before setting headspace? Is it needed?
Im looking for a 300 blackout barrel thats 11in long. Do you make one?
Interesting
Did you remove the firing pin/extractor/ejector from the bolt before headspacing?
Is that just a standard AR10 barrel that attaches to the extention?
No its actually made to fit a sig
That's a killer barrel vice
Ok stupid question.. how do you tell what your torque is?
You ask your gunsmith.
You use a torque wrench.
Do you guys cut 22-250 barrels for the sig and can I run that on the Sig?
I was looking at your site to order a barrel is there going to be a point that y'all will have a 6.5 prc barrel for the cross
Probably not, the PRC needs a Magnum bolt. The cross is not available in a magnum at this time.
Accuracy?
We are heading back from customers that they are seeing sub 1/2 MOA with premium factory ammo

What barrel length in the video?
24”
Anyone have a link to that MI handguard wrench??
Ya I can’t find it either. It’s been a pain.
I asked the same thing, because my MI wrenches are too big.
Turns out you can use a 1-1/16" 12 point Crowfoot.
You're = You are
Your = belongs to you
…competent gunsmith… oh plenty of those around.

A go gauge with 2 layers of scotch tape makes a great no go
your
Repeatedly scraping the handgaurd across the muzzle threads... its what sig cross crave 🥴😂
Heck yeah, it’s definitely what the cross craves. I guess when you own a rifle you can do as you like
Man I wish Sig would’ve designed this better so that the average guy can swap barrels. I want a 22-250 bad but no way am I going to attempt that.
Barrel swapping is super easy on any rifle. You could do it!!!
@@anthonyrothacher9692 Dude did you even watch the video? Sig makes it difficult because of the barrel extension.
@cw2gsp wow....if you think that was hard then I hope you don't have to do any car work like changing oil.
Your not you're. You're is a contracton for you are.
For how often the average person has to change out a barrel, just send it in and have it professionally done....the risks just aren't worth it.
