It never ceases to amaze me how much of a mental game Counter-Strike is.
There's a bunch of shooters out there that can go much further in their serious competitive community, but they're not as big as this is.
@@pudie8952 yo name some of them for me I need some new games to play
@@cheesypoohalo tbh the closes thing i can think of is rainbow six siege. But im completely ignorant to the r6 meta and pro scene so i cant really say anything
For the most known, R6 Siege would be a nice example, while as for least known, Insurgency series would be also a great example.
Pudie but csgo is the most popular game because it doesn’t have 1000 weird quirks or random variables that go into deciding the outcome like mobas or bg games or even siege.
There is something special about crafting a game with 20 years of balance and meta that evolves with 2 very simple overarching themes: Tactical meta, and individual skill. It’s the reason the Japanese game of Go is infinitely more complex than chess, though in go all pieces have exactly the same value, it has less rules and generally is the ‘simpler’ game.
Sure games like siege are technically more complex, but the nuance of csgo is that its simplicity is its strength. It is easy to watch and understand, easy to pick up and play but incredibly difficult to master. I would even argue that the simplistic nature of the game creates an even more diverse ecosystem for competitive play. There is no OP position, or class, or single strategy. Cs strikes a beautiful balance between simple rules, a soft meta, ridiculously high individual skill cap and if you are creative enough, never ending new possibilities for strategy to outsmart your opponents.
Not to discount those other shooters and their metas, but IMO sometimes less is more. In CS and competitive shooters I think this is the case.
I love you being so passionate about this topic! Haha

I know this is an older video but this is one of my favorites of all time. I love watching pro analyses and your videos are always such great quality. I’ve been a sub from right around the time this video was released, and you never fail to make amazing content. Your videos are always an easy way to brighten up my day and I love coming back to older ones to watch the evolution in your style of editing and cinematography. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your craft, Warowl.
I remember the face of Elige when Astralis picked Vertigo
I hope Starladder never host's the major again.
@Vinicius THC It was just poorly done
@Vinicius THC Starladder, also known as "startlater" "starlagger" hosted these epic majors. Hired best observators and started every game in time. Banned couple of streamers whom they thought were pirates or something trying to steal their content
The only good thing they did were the lack of technical issues from the players PCs and they listened to hire Sliggy as the observer later on.
Other than that they're really bad at every quality.
They even played ads in the middle of a play and in the end when Astralis won. Shameful.

I loved this Video! When you watch the streams, everybody understands shooting people in the face, but you don't really get to see the Teams' adjustments e.g Elige catching on to Magisk's flank. Great stuff WarOwl!
Thing about Astralis is, that they don't play events, cause they don't want to share secrets.
It's possibly more due to dev1ce having been told to reduce the number of events he plays. He has a medical condition which is related to stress. I watched a video on this recently

Strong defense on terrorist side even though t side isn't supposed to be defensive. Strong offense on ct side even though ct side is supposed to be defensive. It only worked because of how long it took for T side to push forward
This has to be my favorite warowl pro breakdown, if warowl sees this please continue to do these atleast in my eyes its an amazing distillation of comedy sometimes but articulate analysis and it works. The content you make has to changr with your audience. Your audience isnt inexperienced csgo players anymore its mature old cs players having thoughtful discussion i would 100% watch u cast games or stream games or even do prediction videos breaking down previous games
This was a really great video from you. I really love and miss your pro analysis stuff
What im noticing so far with NA teams is that they are heavily momentum-reliant, whereas EU teams such as Astralis and ENCE (other EU teams as well, im just giving examples) maintain around the same lvl of play, no matter how hard they are getting outplayed and losing. They always manage to adjust mid-match and keep their calm. Even if they dont end up winning off of a bad start they make it competitive. When I watch NA teams winning the first few rounds they get hyped up and confident, but when they lose the first few rounds , they usually decline so much from their usual strategic play and just passively rely on smn from the team to pop off individually. I think that this is why NA teams are so inconsistent. Liquid is the 1st team I have seen from NA that have managed to be somewhat consistent when it comes to mental momentum, but they still need a lot of work to reach EU teams.
Liquid almost ALWAYS won second rounds after losing the pistol. Before they botted out at the major that is.
@@gautamvaze1101 Astralis too op soz
@@gautamvaze1101 Obviously it's Liquid's fault for having a 77.3% pistol round win rate instead of losing the pistol round
@@Kypris_ sorry. I messed up.
From watching a few streams of NA players, it's obvious why, they like to dramatize allot, more so than EU players, and drama doesn't go well with mental game, since every single thought you have affects you more than you'd think, when you start overthinking your death or start thinking you're falling behind, you're fucked, that's most likely what goes trough their minds and is probably the reason they are so momentum based, because when you switch it around and they're winning, and over dramatizing their win, they'll be in a really good mood and they'll play better because of it.
And this is great advice for everyone who plays, make sure you keep your train of thought clean, stay focused on the game and don't think your thoughts are meaningless and don't have any impact on you, because they are literally you, so make sure the only thing going on inside your head is the game and how to win, you have to "become" counter-strike to be truly good at it :)

This is perhaps one of the greatest UA-cam videos I have ever seen. Not because I enjoyed it more, but of every video I have ever seen, this is THE. Highest. Quality. Video I have ever. Seen. It’s strange, it’s not anything special, but... it’s the absolute greatest quality video I have ever seen. I can’t quite explain it, it just is. There’s others I like better cuz they’re funnier, but this is hands down the highest quality 10 minutes and 33 seconds of UA-cam content ever made.
I come back every so often and watch it again. To see what I think. And it’s still the same. This is the single best video on UA-cam. This is what this platform is about. There is something very, very special about this video, and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

The reason it's so hard to stay on top in any competition is that all of your strategies are studied by every opposing team. They are not only looking for ways to counter your play but also things to incorporate into their own. Hoping TL will bounce back after some rough losses because it's much better for fans to have two superpowers (Astralis/Liquid) than just one.
