The Biggest Win in Counter-Strike History

- Cloud9's path to Major Champions was a historic moment for North American Counter-Strike, and possibly the biggest win in the history of Global Offensive. Cloud9 had to defeat the top 4 teams in the world, one after the other, to prove themselves.

Americans: Best major win ever.
I mean the finals was insane double ot
tbf it was
@@caramia6681 It's because people were always fucking shit talking NA. IT GETS ANNOYING.
And now with the most intense finals win in history done by an American team, it's well deserved
What? Dude are you sure you arent talking bout NA? Ive only ever seen NA Insults and EU is superior in strats, players, etc | I mean there are even twitch clip vids and videos called EU Nades and Smokes which are insane. Im sorry but if you have only seen people shit talkin EU, you are living under a stone.
@@caramia6681 I mean honestly speaking from personal experience, looking at when the highlights from the Boston Major first got uploaded, most comments were "that was such a good win, turning point for NA" and "Best major my ass, it's only 1 win, FaZe has won so many more", the second one from a guy who supported Faze.
I have only seen the "EU is salty" comments, AFTER very toxic fans from FaZe, G2 and SK (mostly SK tbh) being sore losers about C9 winning the major. The reason the "EU is salty" comments appeared is because, well, they were fucking toxic. It's not like right after the win people said "EU is salty". No, most comments were "NA CS is good CS" or the exaggerated "NA CS > EU CS".
Personally I did say "it was a well deserved win for C9", and I got hit with a "Fuck off no they don't deserve it, they were lucky that [some lame excuses to why SK or FaZe lost] that they got the win". Only then did I say "SK and FaZe fans salty af" and "the toxicity against NA players is real"
Being there in person was electric. I will never forget it as long as I live.

Wow, can't tell you how much this made me smile, Warowl. I know you're not heavy into the competitive side of CS anymore, but it sure makes me nostalgic for some of your old content. Strat Talk will always be one of my favorite series that you did. Hoping we get a few owl visions in the next part ;)
-Hrairoo53
Jordan Yee On the topic of old series, Bring back Exploit hunters!
I had a lot of fun with that one, although I do think that premise was something 3kliksphilip always had a better feel for, largely because his map-making experience allowed him to articulate exploits better. For me, Warowl's tutorials and Strat Talk series were always where he shined. Those series are where his goals of combining education, humor, and competitive gameplay shined the brightest.
To clarify what I meant, Warowl has specifically said that he doesn't follow the professional scene anymore and doesn't plan to make eSport-focused content a prominent part of his channel anymore. I'm sure he still enjoys it as a fan, and usually releases a few videos here and there (usually during the majors or US-based IEM events that he can attend), but if you remember what his channel was like when csgo first came out, he was casting every prominent match, he had mini podcasts where he'd discuss the pro scene, he'd break down pro tactics, etc. That's what I meant by competitive cs.
The Mega Man X songs also helps on the nostalgic factor too! ;P
Drinking game - take a shot when something is or was “the best in the world”

whether your being sincere or sarcastic(almost definitely sarcastic) I don't think my comment warranted that response.
so 4 shots ?....
Hey, maybe someone said this before, but I don't think the blurry image of the camera is a fps problem, I think is a shutter problem. If you are recording at 30fps, you should set the shutter speed to 1/60, that way the image should stop being blurry.
It is FPS, camera doesn't match green screen footage,

January :"I think this major is a turning point in NACS ".
June: spamming NA Nade😂
i disagree. in my opinion the biggest win in go history was LG's on columbus 2016 cuz at the time counter strike scene on brazil was almost inexistent. it was great because they never gave up. they were the underdogs during their whole grind to the top and they did it. without a scene on their country and without the support they now have.
Alexandre yep
i still think this rivals it though, i think this Major was a close second overall but the best in my heart, but thats my subjective look as this entire subject is
Don't forget the comebacks against Liquid. I love warowl and his videos, but this one is pure hype and patriotism. It was a HUGE win, and probably the biggest finals of all majors and they deserved it a lot. But not the biggest win.
Thing is the LG core had been showing really strong form and had attained Legend status repeatedly already. C9 hadn't made playoffs of a major since Hiko was on the team. Add in the opponents faced by both teams in their major run. LG only had to beat teams ranked lower than them until the finals when they faced NaVi, but C9 had to beat 3 of the 4 teams ranked above them in bo3 in ascending order. C9 had a harder path to the finals and an 0-6 map record against their opponent in the final. LG were slight underdogs in the final but nowhere near as unfavored as C9. Almost no one even thought the final of this major would be as good of a match as it turned out to be. And as inspiring as LG's rise to the top was, C9's run was a much bigger underdog story, at least in my opinion
Can we have this in aaaaahhhhh South Africa 🇿🇦 now 🤨

this gives off the vibe that you're more excited about this being an NA team than anything else. i mean, having favourites is fine and all but i feel like you could substitute about half of this video with the Team America World Police theme song and nothing would be different.
Woah calm down those detective skills bud. Are you saying WarOwl, an American, is excited that an American team finally won a major by beating 3 of the best teams in the world in a Bo3??? What?? Nah that's too far fetched.
SK was playing with a stand in which Warowl (for some weird reason) glosses over. so more like 2. But still, they did a quite insane job.
That stand in won a major with that same SK team though.
no he didn't, felps has never won a major
I don't understand the problem here bro. Is he not allowed to be happy that his home team won? Aren't you happy when your home team wins?
Thanks so much for the analysis! My family wondered why Mother wasn’t cooking dinner, all that overtime was the reason, and Skedaddy’s post-win interview cuteness overload.
Give us part 2, please! I‘m pumped!
I never realized how angery people get when people are happy that America won its first major lol
ForeverIrish494 the problem it's not America winning their first major, which it isn't. The problem is how America won their first CSGO Major and people are saying how this was the best Major, and they always list that a NA team winning it is one of the reasons. Cloud9 did an excellent job winning, anyone who denies it is salty.
Caio Pedreira Or its because C9 won by being 4 of the top 5 teams in the world to secure a major win. But that's just a guess.
iMrParker As I said, Cloud9 did a fantastic job on winning the major, but winning against the best teams in the world as an underdog happened already.
thats kinda mandatory to win a championship though, isnt it?
HenkDePenk not if you're already #1 lol

Yes, and?
It's worth remembering that SK didn't played with Boltz, but with Felps instead. Not that it would make them won against Cloud9, or to make it an excuse why SK lost, but they were playing so much better with Boltz, the game could be very different.
But C9 played so well, specially on critical moments. GG.

so happy to see another vid!!!
This was a great recap of the events. I'm sad i missed them because of my time zone but at least now I'm well updated and informed.
This match was probably every thing you can want from a csgo final . I came in supporting faze but when the score went 15-11 i lowkey wanted a comeback from cloud9 , watching the clutches one after the other were just too good

EPICENTER 2017 VP vs SK was the beast for me!
+Rokeii Hably
But that wasnt a major so it doesnt count but still for me is the best final , that VP vs SK on a B05 was.....WOW i am a VP fan and the fact that VP didnt do shit for month and then in Epicenter "BOOM" Faze out,Gambit out and G2 out AND then a battle of Titans VP vs SK on a B05 with all maps being close made it for me the best final of tournament
But if we talk about majors the Astralis vs VP one in Eleague Atlanta 2017 was incredible , the best final final of a major for me
I got into playing counterstrike right after the previous major in Krakow ended. Around that time I started watching the pro scene again (because I used to about 3 years ago, but didn't really know much about it). I then declared myself a cloud 9 fan as one of my friends was signed to their PUBG team. Once the Boston major was announced, I decided I needed to go, especially with my proximity to the venue. Being able to go al three days and watch cloud 9 take down the best in the world, one after another, was one of the funniest things to watch ever. Glad I was there in person to witness it
Watching this after C9 dissolved into nothing and so many NA players switching to Valorant hurts
Not taking anything away from the win but its really shitty that SK has to play a quarter final and semi final with a like 4-5 hour gap.

Hey hey hey, I’m seeing NA bashing EU and EU bashing NA. Come on guys, where’s the sportsmanship? Be gracious in defeat and humble in victories. I find the hating-on-someone-because-they’re-not-from-where-you’re-from utterly ridiculous. That’s also the definition of Xenophobia - although, I do know this is different. Let’s just enjoy the game for entertainment value! I wouldn’t have minded if the game went either way, but I am incredibly proud of Cloud9 for doing what they did. Regardless of what anyone else says, this remains true: they played incredibly well. It made for an amazing show.

siditude78 R.I.P. MiBR Tarik
Crazy at reading some of these comments. I'm a Faze fan, but C9 deserved this win through everything they been against
A lot of people are bringing up the whole "SK stand in and how they were tired"... Tarik said it himself, they are a momentum team and this was their major.
They would have beaten SK at this event regardless, their Mirage/Inferno was showcased against SK and Faze, showing just how much better they were on those maps. This goes for all the other teams they had beaten on Mirage.
Hope Guardian gets his major title in the future, guy looked shattered after his lost :(
SK with felps in Inferno is a Lot a HELL
lel they haven't won a single game against Faze on Mirage
Is not a excuse but SK really dont want to win this major, FalleN and even Felps himself said: "We just want the legends status" but was a big journey from C9.

Too be honest I think UK CS problem is the toxicity. I've yet to meet a UK player who don't turn toxic after just a few bad rounds (that include the UK friends I have from CS too). I've made it a rule for myself to not play faceit/MM with any UK player for that reason. :/
Luckyshot I see what you mean but I think they don't see it as we do I lived in th uk for a while and didn't understand their sense of humour but yeah I think they are quite abrasive players
+Me
Don't know where you're from, but their humor seems normal too me... About the toxicity, I'm dumbfounded what could be the course, since it seems to be every player almost without exception. My current assumption is that it's culture based, since it have to be something affecting enough players for me to not have meet one with normal 'toxicity' levels in my time of playing.
I'm telling my kids this was the revolutionary war
