To be fair, this is the first time ever where NaVi pops off with a good full team and doesn't have to go back to region locked online events. I understand the sentiment, but I think this is the first real chance to see this lineup actually keep consistent. When they won the last two big LANs they had to go back to grinding shitty online CIS RMRs, which I don't count as real CS.
I'd love to see more of these player breakdown videos. They're really good at not only furthering understanding of how they play, but how CS is played at the whole professional level.
this is truly a phenomenal video - about s1mple, about cs, about improvement and competition and greatness; it really is just an all-around fantastic watch. there's something really special here, and i mean that with all my heart. few things in life get me as excited as great competition on the big stage, but your reflection on it is one of them :)
That was a great video and a great closing clip. Thank you for all the time and effort that you put into the game you love WarOwl. The scene wouldn't be what it is without you or your content.
I came here to watch "why s1mple is the goat" and surprisingly it ended up with psychology, inspirational and scientific lessons!!! What a positive vibe video. ❤️❤️
"what makes s1mple unique, his strength as a player comes from having the confidence to go for the plays you are not supposed to, the mechanical skill to hit the shots you are not supposed to and the game sense be both unpredictable and predict his opponent's movements"... well said WarOwl.. well said
I remember when I was like 14, me and a bunch of friends were betting on csgo all the time and we were so obsessed with Flipside and S1mple. Crazy to think he actually rose up to be the best player
God warowl, I remember when he started, because it's when I started! I watched like a years+ worth of your videos over a month and after seeing cs for what it is had to buy it. I'm still garbage, but I like mapping! It's crazy seeing him evolve into the monster that you said he might.
Having followed Na'vi's journey and being a die-hard NiP fan till f0rest and GeT_RiGhT were on the team, it's been heart-warming to see S1mple's growth as a team player. His skills were always fantastic but I don't know after being a good team player, it feels he can go for even more crazy shots and with more confidence. My eyes watered seeing him lift the Major trophy. Nobody deserved it more. Way to go S1mple - truly THE greatest CSGO player of all time.
What you said at 7:26 is interesting. I need to find a way to take the tilt I so often get with video games and instead of being tilted use it to help me win. I feel like I don't know how.
You just need to constantly remind yourself to keep calm in the moment itself and stop any negativity that is coming up immediately. Ain't not easy at all and will take a lot of attempts but eventually you'll get there just like with s1mple's flicks hehe
I would have never imagined that I will hear about the Polgár-girls in a CSGO pro player analysis, but that's what makes your commentary so colourful. (And as Hungarian it always feels good to be mentioned) Fun fact: the ELO system used in chess (or faceit) comes from a Hungarian too, Élő Árpád.
This is the WarOwl content I expect to watch over and over Can you do evals of other pros as well in the tourney? Like Niko etc and why the deag blunder changed everything
i think ROcket League is also very entertaining, i remember watching the first esports event "RLCS 1", they had no camera tools, casters had to switch players manually, no one could play but it was awesome. And now 5 years later.... the skills in rl that have developed, mechanics etc. impressive. Players are so good now, if you could play with your todays knowledge of RL, even i as a "casual" with 2k hours i could beat the entire RLCS 1 team 1v3. But that shows that SO MUCH was discovered, mechanics, strats and what not. Amazing.
S1mple is the player I'm happy he got his major, yeah he was toxic etc. etc., but his pure dedication and consistent skill just demanded such an achievement.
Range by david epstien is another good book that talks about tiger woods, the polgar sisters, and other raised from birth prodigies, and how the more complicated and harsh the learning environment is, the more useless the headstart becomes. It talks about how range is more beneficial to single focus, the more complex the environment. Its a very good book.
s1mple has had his opening arc, his character development arc, and hit the ultimate goal in his tournament arc, someone make an esports anime about this man already.
I love this video, this is not a cliche one where it's just about praising s1mple. It's a video about life lessons about s1mple. The path to become the best of the best, the road into unlocking the potential that everyone knows he'll become one day.
I don't know if it came across on stream during the final (the sound production wasn't the best), but I was at the major final and no joke like 80% of the arena were cheering for S1mple and Navi. Even the G2 fans weren't too upset about the result. So happy for the GOAT!
"so glad it's back" wait what have I been watching for the past 2 years then?? The online era also had some fun events and stuff. especially casters were really putting in the work to compensate for the lack of crowd.
We also have to give credit to his teammates. Simple has been dominating since a long time, but his team good wasn't enough to support him. Bur now simple plays like a wild beast running free in the whole map because he knows that his teammates got his back and I believe there is no stopping to this Navi. Also B1t is going to be great in the future for sure!
S1mple is obviously one of if not THE BEST players in the world, undebatable fax. But seeing his plays reminded me of the London 2018 final with Astralis. GLA1VE read him like a book and strived him and his team helpless, effortlessly winning 2-0 and continuously rushing B on T side on overpass. Sometimes the greatest players aren't made of extraordinary skill, but made of a big brain that can outperform it. I love CS.
Hahaha that's funny, a lifetime of people putting you down and denying you being a prodigy, while they name off all your insults. Then when you actually win, it's a murder and they're the ones smiling while they're being killed. Like someone being angry is the most important last seconds of their lives.

He actually wanted to do just that to prove the point, but was talked out of it because it seemed VERY unethical. I think one of his daughters wanted to try this too.
Great video! Your last bit reminded me of my Uni assignment that I just finished: Esports and mental health (toxicity and performance anxiety). To me, it seems like s1mple became the leader to push his teammates to their best while going forward as a role model and showing how its done. Thats how Esports (and all other sports) should be.

I feel sorry for Niko because everyone joking on him but he's literally the second best player in the whole major. G2 is the second best team because of him. Every team he was part of was on peak when he was part of them.

But in my honest experience you really need to feel that you have that strong and powerful energy inside you, you can't feel fatigued or sluggish every day, most of the days i couldn't even cook food! How are you supposed to be a pro if you don't even have the energy to cook food!. Everything you need is already inside you, the human body is incredible, its a miracle. Your health is the most important thing you will ever have. Hope this will help someone out there, and yes you can call me a psychopath or whatever you want. God bless...
Respect goes to s1mple he definitely deserves it, but he has such an amazing team to work with. On the other hand, Niko had so much impact, entry fragging, putting himself out there. I feel gutted for him, if he had a better team then maybe it would have gone the other way around. Hope he gets a major one day.
Yeah, i just can't believe when some people blame him after that loss meanwhile he's the one that carrying hard G2 almost singlehandedly to the finals but Navi are just far better team than G2 was so the finals outcome actually kinda expected, i've more surprised that G2 giving a good fight specially on nuke i though navi will steamrolled them as usual lol
him joining another team won't get him anywhere , he got into final with Faze and still lose it
If it was just about his team being worse faze should of beat cloud 9 in the finals yet they didn't imo it's because they all have up a 14-7 lead and g2's awper had a difficult time doing anything
This is the best s1mple video of PGL Stockholm Major’21 I have seen so far, including HLTV’s s1mple MVP video. Thanks for this, this is a treat.
7:26 thnx for this. Its a really good lesson that i've never thought of
is it good enough for you to beat s1mple

You forgot cheated in 2013 to win aim contest against shox
Now after Blast Fall its 18 MVPs
Can't forget the proposal at the end of the major though, that was pretty amazing. Maybe Niko can propose next year
Btw she said yes
@@mitsuro3815 nice lol
as a Na'Vi fan, they always do crazy well in a tournament with S1mple doing some crazy crap, then they get murdered for like 3 months after
To be fair, this is the first time ever where NaVi pops off with a good full team and doesn't have to go back to region locked online events. I understand the sentiment, but I think this is the first real chance to see this lineup actually keep consistent. When they won the last two big LANs they had to go back to grinding shitty online CIS RMRs, which I don't count as real CS.
@@mckinleyostvig7135 yeah, I agree.
This time it's different tbf
@@nathanhosea489 I hope it is
@@scriblestingray5713 It clearly is. The major is literally the biggest proof of it.
Nah S1mple’s the guy the boogy man is scared of
I'd love to see more of these player breakdown videos.
Even if S1mple retired without winning a major somehow, I think that he will still be remembered as the true GOAT player
6:29 I appreciate how what you are saying matches up with the gameplay clip and his reaction to his last shot
Gotta love s1mple for his pure talent and dedication to this game
Yez Navi finally win!!
Yoo
I came here to watch "why s1mple is the goat" and surprisingly it ended up with psychology, inspirational and scientific lessons!!! What a positive vibe video. ❤️❤️
"what makes s1mple unique, his strength as a player comes from having the confidence to go for the plays you are not supposed to, the mechanical skill to hit the shots you are not supposed to and the game sense be both unpredictable and predict his opponent's movements"... well said WarOwl.. well said
I remember when s1mple carried Liquid to NA's first finals appearance
Good times
Your comments at 7:35, that was beautifully put! This was such a good video
What you said at 7:26 is interesting. I need to find a way to take the tilt I so often get with video games and instead of being tilted use it to help me win. I feel like I don't know how.
Keeping a calm nerve or properly channeling the tilt is something not even most pros can get right (get it? hehe)
You just need to constantly remind yourself to keep calm in the moment itself and stop any negativity that is coming up immediately. Ain't not easy at all and will take a lot of attempts but eventually you'll get there just like with s1mple's flicks hehe
This video had my complete attention all the way through. That's really rare for me. Really good video!
So humble of S1mple letting others play with him.
This is the WarOwl content I expect to watch over and over
Can you do evals of other pros as well in the tourney? Like Niko etc and why the deag blunder changed everything
This video was fantastic. Great choice of plays to use and quick, concise explanations of s1mple’s decision making.
Gotta give credit to niko for whiffing and let s1mple win the major, what a nice guy
i think ROcket League is also very entertaining, i remember watching the first esports event "RLCS 1", they had no camera tools, casters had to switch players manually, no one could play but it was awesome.
Amazing.
Saw the title and my immediate first thought was "It's WarOwl."
Lmao throwing that legendary clip in there at the end was just fantastic! Great video Warowl!
S1mple is the player I'm happy he got his major, yeah he was toxic etc. etc., but his pure dedication and consistent skill just demanded such an achievement.
cs players and toxic? the sky is blue

When you referenced the polgar sisters, reminded me of the book “Peak”. If you haven’t already, definitely a worth while read
I will check it out thanks!
s1mple has had his opening arc, his character development arc, and hit the ultimate goal in his tournament arc, someone make an esports anime about this man already.
I played cs 1.6 for 1-2 years and cs go since 2014. All i can say is that s1mple is so good its like he is born his unhuman skills to this game lol
I love this video, this is not a cliche one where it's just about praising s1mple. It's a video about life lessons about s1mple. The path to become the best of the best, the road into unlocking the potential that everyone knows he'll become one day.
Man has an incredible gamesense
I don't know if it came across on stream during the final (the sound production wasn't the best), but I was at the major final and no joke like 80% of the arena were cheering for S1mple and Navi. Even the G2 fans weren't too upset about the result. So happy for the GOAT!
I don't even like Counter-Strike and yet I've been following this channel for 5 years. I'm weird.
thanks! I want to do more than just CS, but it's tough when you're stuck in a niche

"so glad it's back"
wait what have I been watching for the past 2 years then??
The online era also had some fun events and stuff. especially casters were really putting in the work to compensate for the lack of crowd.
You know exactly what he meant.
Man this takes me back to 2018/2019 when I watched proleague nonstop and grinded CS. Always enjoy a warowl video about the pros!
Goated out of his mind
We also have to give credit to his teammates. Simple has been dominating since a long time, but his team good wasn't enough to support him. Bur now simple plays like a wild beast running free in the whole map because he knows that his teammates got his back and I believe there is no stopping to this Navi.
Also B1t is going to be great in the future for sure!
I don't comment ever, but I just wanted to say this really was wonderful, well done, it's far more than I expected.

Ah yes, Navi. Aka s1mple and the 4 other people that aren't s1mple
I’ll save you guys 8 minutes:
s1mple is pretty good
There is no need to save me from WarOwl content :(
S1mple is obviously one of if not THE BEST players in the world, undebatable fax.

Spoiler alert: We've seen how it works out and it's doesn't work.

Missing the point like niko that deagle shot
He actually wanted to do just that to prove the point, but was talked out of it because it seemed VERY unethical. I think one of his daughters wanted to try this too.
🤡
also, i would like some report or research paper or an article when "We've seen how it works out and it's doesn't work"
Great video! Your last bit reminded me of my Uni assignment that I just finished: Esports and mental health (toxicity and performance anxiety).
To me, it seems like s1mple became the leader to push his teammates to their best while going forward as a role model and showing how its done. Thats how Esports (and all other sports) should be.
the last s1mple clip was everything
WarOwl, I hope you see this. At 6:11 you were talking about s1mple shooting someone jump spotting him on Nuke. Was this in one of the first (if not the first game) s1mple played for HellRaisers? Because I remember that shot!
This is one of the best videos on youtube. The quality is just different.
Sasha also has the most insane teammates possible like Bit kills are 80 % headshots

I am so glad Warowl is talking about pro matches again. I still really miss the matchcasting. I loved those videos.
4:19 Reminds me of the Covenant in Halo going "He's everywhere!!" lmao
When you're so good warowl makes a video about you
Its like the famous flusha quote
"Do stupid things, but do it with confidence"
In this case, its so stupid, but youre so good that it ends up being a 200 iq play
I've been away for CSGO for a long time but I'll always remember the names like Niko, Simple and Hiko. Happy to see Simple getting some recognition, always knew he was GOAT material.
Some recognition?
@@mario_gabriel I just meant that even for fans who haven't played in a while, they still recognize signature names. He also is well deserving of all the praise he gets.
@@Deadricblood yeah you're right about that, it just sounded a bit of a stretch saying that he's getting "some" recognition haha, but I think I get what you meant now.
@@mario_gabriel He said he was away from csgo for a long time. Back in 2016, people could see s1mple was just different and was goat material, but he was never given his dues, especially in NA. It wasn't until 2018 that more people started giving him the respect he deserved and to many it took him winning this major to pretty much cement him as the goat.
I feel sorry for Niko because everyone joking on him but he's literally the second best player in the whole major. G2 is the second best team because of him. Every team he was part of was on peak when he was part of them.
This video is so good, its not just about a player in csgo, its more about how to condition yourself to be a better "person" in order to be a better "player", these stuff can actually work in real life, humility, confidence, self-control, patience, a literal work of art
Yo that Terran SC2 music at the end was perfect. Great addition warowl!
