    I build stuff too and I think you got a really good idea here and to anybody who says this video sucks or somebody would figure out there’s a hidden compartment remember this video is not titled “The most hidden drawer gun compartment never find it in a hundred years” lol it’s just an example and is meant to give you an idea.

    Pocket holes should be angled towards the other side of the piece its screwed to. It should always point to the meat of the wood.

    Great Idea, love the concept of modifying existing furniture that is readily available vs. building from scratch.
    One unsolicited comment. You should refrain from wearing gloves when using power tools. It's a quick way to loose a digit or two.... Be safe.

    I really like the ideal you had here. Awesome. Then to create a simple locking mechanism with the draw know position in lock or not position . Awesome. That way it only shows,the second dwar when you want.
    I also like the foam ideal. It becomes apart of the dwar when locked securely on the foam, and does not slide back and forth to give itself away.
    Suggestion. Next time you may prefer to make sure the 2nd dwar is no higher than needed be to hide the gun. I know, this was most likely hour first try. And, most likely had thought of the same thing after doing the project and some reflection. Though this way, the original dwar will not look as shallow as the face of the dwar will suggest. And, because of making the primary dwar as deep as you can, it helps lower the oddity of one may notice if they pull out the dwar.
    You may also want to play with the licking mechanism. See what other ways you make to be able to lock it. The way you have the lock is perfectly well though instead of a quarter turn, you may like one you have a 50/50 turn half open and half lock. Then again there may be other ways as well maybe a latch at the bottom may be a locking mechanism as well. Who knows.
    Though in all I so love the ideal you shared here in your video.

    An easier way is removing your bottom drawer stack from your master bath cabinet.
    Cut a nice opening on your base cabinet, big enough for your hands to fit. Set your gun on the bottom floor under your cabinet. Add a 1/8 thick material to cover the hole. Place your bottom drawer back on. No one would never know.

    • @jerryglass6556
      @jerryglass6556 4 роки тому

      Joe Rubalcava but the idea is you are able to get to your gun fast....you can have your gun in your hand in 3 to 4 seconds.
      If you have to remove a cabinet drawer, lift a piece of wood and reach trough a hole, you’ve probably used up 15 seconds. Which is a long time if someone has already liked your door in and is in your house.
      Also, this kind of concealment is to use as a nightstand next to your bed for quick firearm retrieval in the middle of the night when you hear someone in your house. You don’t have time to run to another room to dig for your gun under a cabinet.

    • @jorrba3934

    Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

      @@Sawer But do you feel generic music is as good as a halfway decent narration? Many, if not most people watch these videos for entertainment only. And silent videos with generic music are simply WAY less engaging than narration that allows us to go through the process with them. Having only music on the other hand keeps us at a distance. I will never understand why UA-cam creators are so willing to throw away the audio half of their videos. UA-cam creators, please use ALL the tools in your arsenal!

    • @dlwatib
      @dlwatib 5 років тому

      Don't be silly. It's a drill, not a lathe. Nobody ever degloved a hand using a drill and people use gloves with them every day. As soon as you take your finger off the trigger it stops. Besides, a single thread isn't strong enough to deglove you.
