The first video where we finally try out the new games on this machine. Thank you very much for showing us this wonder. I'm looking forward to receiving the deluxe version at the end of the month.
Excellent launch, looks like a quality product, I really want both models. If I manage to move to a place with more space I will try to import them. Thanks as always John.
We have the arcade version of Sky Shark, Flying Shark on Toaplan 1. They included the NES port for the original soundtrack by famed British composer Tim Follin and because there were no other Toaplan arcade games to include. I really wish they had included more home ports to fill out collection 4. Oh well.
Great video! 👍 Thanks for doing a good unboxing as well, showing all the angles. Also showing the boot up is something most people would skip, but is cool/interesting to see 👍 Cheers 🙂
Great review, I can’t wait for mine to arrive! Looking forward to playing SF2 with the stick proper button layout, as well as arcade shooters and beat ‘em ups on this thing.
This was very tempting for me. But I already had the VS and several of their handhelds. And I'm hoping the Capcom games might get cartridge releases later. (I hope) Otherwise, its a great device! And I'm very tempted for sure!
Hey, do you have any recommendations on who could modify an Atari 5200 4-port in order to bypass the auto tv switch so, that i can use RCA's or hdmi and a seperate power cord?
Nice mini arcade machine. I'd prefer something a bit bigger, with at least a 12" screen, or maybe 15". A great feature would be if you could pivot the screen for vertical arcades.
I love the evercade as much as the next and i love the idea of this its awesome my youngest son would go nuts over this but for over 200 bucks.. its a pass unless i find a super good deal . But thanks for showing us john!
Thanks for the review. I love the look of the Street Fighter version, not the Mega Man one. However, I prefer the games mix within the Mega Man version. I don't believe you can buy the Capcom cartridges, so leaves me pondering which version to get, neither quite work for me. Love what Blaze are doing with their Evercade range though, retro goodness.
Seems like a decent quality cabinet, the price is defitely too high for what you get imo. The screen could be slightly larger on it, and maybe an HDMI port, which is not a huge deal to me personally, but I keep seeing so many people say that is a major reason for them not wanting it.
I don't understand why the screen has to be so small? There is enough room for a 12" screen. People who would buy these are old men with bad eye sight. PLEASE USE YOU BRAIN WHEN BUILD ANYTHING RETRO!!!
Low quality 8" 60 hz lcd screen with 6 games in small shell with no space and controlls for 2nd player that is forced to use normal controller. And all of that for 250$ ? sorry but this looks pathetic and uncomfortable. It is not arcade cabinet it is a joke. not so big like 1up but still
One one hand, this seems to be wildly overpriced. But on the other hand, it’s 2024, and Trump has made everything wildly MORE EXPENSIVE, so maybe it’s a nice value. Ultimately it’s not something I’d buy since we’re struggling right now, but I might look into it down the road once Kamala ends the price gouging in the market. Thanks John! 🙏
This looks great. Can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the video, John!
You are most welcome!

Thats really cool that you can use Evercade carts on this machine. Very cool!
Yeah, that's definitely a big selling point for me!
The control lag seems outrageuos in the video!! How does it feel???

I appreciate the kind words!

Thank you for the clarification
Nice brings me back growing up in the 80's and 90's playing on the arcade
This is absolutely awesome! Thanks for this video.
Glad you liked it!
I hope Evercade will release the dungeons and dragons arcade games.
Great video! 👍 Thanks for doing a good unboxing as well, showing all the angles. Also showing the boot up is something most people would skip, but is cool/interesting to see 👍 Cheers 🙂
Thanks for watching!
I'm very impressed how this arcade looks from evercade here! I love Street Fighter series and been a fan of it for so many years.
Would have been awesome if you could system link 2 alpha's . They would have sold twice as many.
I know, that would have been cool!
You’re kidding! They sold this without the ability to link two such a wasted opportunity 😫
That's a "slick" bartop machine.
I might pick one up. Great review! 👍
I might get one later down the line to see if there is a price drop. I'll probs get the Mega Man one if so.
Great review, I can’t wait for mine to arrive! Looking forward to playing SF2 with the stick proper button layout, as well as arcade shooters and beat ‘em ups on this thing.
You’ll definitely enjoy those games on the stick!
@ Awesome, should be lots of fun!
Wish they would of done a 10 inch screen at least. Also an acrylic top for the art work would of been nice!
Another thing to add to my wish list!
It's a great little device.
That machine is a awesome idea love it, Can be connected to a tv??
Nope, that is one downside to this device that I forgot to mention.
@ if they add that option, it would be great, the perfect bartop arcade/console
They have different products for that market. The Evercade VS-R is their “TV” Console, which is 100 bucks, but also has four player ability
Very cool!
Most excellent review, John. Do you think it's modable for a little crt in there?
No idea
I want this just for ease of use. My VS isn't always connected. Hooking it up to play isn't hard, but can be annoying. This would solve that issue.
Happy for you to get this when I got laid off August 1 I had to cancel my pre-order 💫🦉
This was very tempting for me. But I already had the VS and several of their handhelds. And I'm hoping the Capcom games might get cartridge releases later. (I hope) Otherwise, its a great device! And I'm very tempted for sure!
Apparently there won't be a Capcom cart cause of their license agreement says the games HAVE to be programmed directly into the consoles only

Agreed!
Awesome
👍👍™️
I preordered mine on amazon for £200. Then the price went up to £230.00

I know, it's a bit pricey, but a quality product.

Fair enough!
Elvis beat em’ up? I think I finally found a game my Dad will enjoy!

It would be nice to have those features but it's definitely a cool little cabinet.
Are you still going to do the special edition with the block'em sock'em socks?
No HDMI output is kinda of a deal breaker for me, so far in my opinion Taito Egret 2 got it right.
As you know, I'm a huge Evercade fan, but this is a pass for me. Great review! 🎉
Thanks, I appreciate it!
@johnhancockretro 😀
They should make an online play version
Is there any perceived lag when playing?
If I can not rest my hand over the buttons on the panel. I wouldn't bother with buying it to feel uncomfortable playing.
How much? For six games?! I can’t get behind that is it hackable
Remember that it takes Evercade carts too. Adds 500+ games
Evercade and John Hancock can’t go wrong
has.. no one covered the Deluxe versions??
When fun stock sends them out then people will.
@@johnhancockretro that is true. i do plan to review mine so i can do my december evercade project properly.

I'd love a Namco Splatterhouse edition. I know about the Namco collection carts. Im on the fence on these 2 units.
I'd totally buy this, if not for the outrageous import taxes we have here in Brazil 🥲😪
