It is important that you change your Oil every time it needs it. Ford made it easy to know when by displaying your oil life in percentage mode.
If you live in the Tomball, Texas, Houston, Texas or surrounding area, I would love to assist you with your next vehicle purchase.

Anyone can tell me why after I changed my oil and reset it it’s not showing up anymore? Just had engine hours and idle hours
Thanks brother
good & cleare explaine
My STX 2019 does not show oil life in the engine info... I have to go to advance settings and then go to oil life reset
My 2020 doesnt show oil life it only shows the engine Hrs. ???.....does it need programmed in?
Hey I have 2019 F150 . It only shows engine hrs and idle.....?
On my 2018 XLT Sport SCrew, 5.0L I go to the same spot as seen above and all I see is the Engine Hours and Engine Idle Hours information, the Percent Oil Life has disappeared although when I got the truck four weeks ago (new) the Percent Oil Life title and information were present. Any thoughts? Thank you.
David Dion for the 2018s you need to navigate to settings->advanced settings->vehicle->oil life reset and your percentage should show up there. Give it a try and let me know if this worked. As far as it disappearing; that's too strange. Can't answer why that would happen
Ask Jorge Lopez at Tomball Ford
found it, thanks jorge!!
u da man 😃
@@Askjorgelopez my 2018 Lariat is the same way the only way I can get to oil percentage is at the oil life reset.
@@Askjorgelopez my 2018 XLT doesn't show oil life by using these steps as stated above. All it has is wiper controls. I can't find the oil life anywhere in the menu. Do you have any suggestions?
@@rendiewmit86 did you get to find it I have the same issue
is this the same thing as a STX
I have a 2015, and it says hold the ok button to reset the oil. But when I do that, nothing happens
Do you how to find the release pull for the back seat? Not the small seat to get to the tire rack. I want to install storage behind the seat attached to the truck 2015 F150
You can only put the one side down. Thank you for watching and stopping by!
Doesn't work on 2018s buddy
How do you check the oil percentage on a 2020 F150 Limited? I went truck info and scolled down but it didn't have oil percentage in that screen selection.
Same here
Found it. Settings/Advanced Settings/Vehicle/Oul Life Reset
It will show you the oil life percentage here with the ability to reset if required
Didn't work for me. Mine shows engine hours and engine idle hours but it does not display oil life.
What is the "weight" of oil ?and is it going to be "full synthetic" oil on my 2017 f150 xlt, which I should use?
That is 5w30. you can you any brand and it can be any viscosity. I would recommend a synthetic blend. It's have synthetic and half regular for a cost savings plus it allows you to go up to 8k miles between oil changes
My 2020 XLT doesn’t have this on my display mode menu. What gives? My 2020 did
I have questions
1- is this 100% accurate?
2- if the life of the oil is 7 months and after 10 months it is still 60% should I replace it?
3- if i have changed the oil before and forgotten to reset the oil reader can i reset it now?
4- should it be 0% to change the oil?
Sorry for the too long questions
1. yes
2. I am always for doing things sooner then they require. So I would change it but after 10 months you should be closer to 30% not 60%. You are not required to change it until you get the system to ask you to do so.
3. yes
4. change oil soon light will show up at 5% of oil life. You are not hurting the engine if you get to 0%.
How about on a 2017 f250 6.7 Powerstroke
Its a Lariat
Do you ever have any thing on a no start anti lock ? 2008 Ford focus I already put a ignition switch it about a year ago and its driving me crazy A locksmith checked it he said it Maybe my Pcm my car has been sitting for a year😭😫 I have payed for it 6 years only only 3 months its paid,,,I wish I could bring it to you what can I do to Fix ,You seem help people I have been without a car for 1year please help
sorry but I am not mechanically inclined!
My 2018 lariat doesn't show the oil life...weird.
Can you do the same thing on a STX
yes, depending on the year. If you don't see these messages of the oil life on your vehicle screen then you can't
I believe that's called the pod on the steering wheel he works on Fords and he's not sharp enough to remember that I don't want him working on my vehicle
Not on my 2018 :-(
After further research, 2017 and beyond, Ford basically put their own "oil life censor" into (all?) their vehicles to maximize oil life. Your system tells you when to change your oil, rather than going on a (3000 to 5000 mile) schedule.
